Virgin Galactic said a maintenance review on VMS Eve – the mothership which will carry SpaceShipTwo Unity to altitude – had been completed.</p>\n<p><b>Coinbase&nbsp;</b><b>(COIN)</b> – Coinbase is on watch after the cryptocurrency exchange operator’s shares fell for the past six days in a row, now down more than 40% from its initial trade on April 14, the day it went public. Wedbush initiated coverage on the stock with an “outperform” rating, citing strong cryptocurrency adoption. Its shares rose 2% in premarket action.</p>\n<p><b>Cisco Systems&nbsp;</b><b>(CSCO) </b>– Cisco beat estimates by a penny a share, with quarterly earnings of 83 cents per share. The networking equipment maker’s revenue also topped Wall Street forecasts, however Cisco issued weaker-than-expected current-quarter guidance. The company said its profit margins are under pressure from supply chain challenges. Cisco’s shares tumbled 5.6% in premarket trading.</p>\n<p><b>Squarespace&nbsp;</b><b>(SQSP)</b> – Squarespace remains on watch after the website hosting company’s stock fell during its first trading day. Squarespace went public via direct listing, with a reference price of $50 and initial trading at $48, but the value was below where it had been during a private stock sale earlier this year.</p>\n<p><b>Hormel Foods&nbsp;</b><b>(HRL) </b>– Hormel reported quarterly earnings of 42 cents per share, a penny a share above estimates. The food producer's revenue also came in above analysts' projections. The company behind brands like Spam, Dinty Moore and Jennie-O said demand in its various channels remains elevated compared to pre-pandemic levels.</p>\n<p><b>BJ’s Wholesale&nbsp;</b><b>(BJ)</b> – The warehouse retailer reported quarterly earnings of 72 cents per share, 15 cents a share above estimates. Revenue beat estimates as well. The retailer’s comparable-store sales ex-fuel fell by 5%, but that was smaller than the 8.3% drop predicted by analysts who were surveyed by FactSet. BJ’s also said that the rest of 2021 remains difficult to forecast. But the bigger story is that the&nbsp;fintech company's long-term potential became more apparent as the year went on, and the market rewarded shareholders with roughly 350% gains over the course of the year. ARK Invest chief Cathie Wood, whose investment decisions are watched by growth investors everywhere, has made Square&nbsp;one of her largest holdings. Is it the right long-term stock for you?</p>\n<p><b>The cashless society is coming</b></p>\n<p>Square operates two ecosystems: one for sellers, which caters to the small and medium-sized business clients that use its fintech solutions, and Cash App, which individuals use to send payments and related functions. In many ways, it's similar to fintech leader&nbsp;<b>PayPal</b>, which offers similar products and services.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/eec52b2852a019a71e28772d69a6c0bc\" tg-width=\"2000\" tg-height=\"1488\"><span>IMAGE SOURCE: SQUARE.</span></p>\n<p>As would be expected, the seller division was mixed during the pandemic. Physical small businesses suffered during lockdowns, but many with digital capabilities flourished. Square sees a $100 billion addressable market, of which it has less than 3%.</p>\n<p>Cash App, though, was a high performer during the pandemic as people stayed home and relied on mobile wallets to send and receive money. The company also expanded features for Cash App, such as stock and&nbsp;<b>Bitcoin</b>&nbsp;trading, as well as Cash Card and a rewards program. More than a million Cash App users bought Bitcoin for the first time in Q4, and the cryptocurrency was traded two and a half times more than in Q4 2019. Square itself bought $230 million of Bitcoin recently as it steers itself toward an expanded digital payment ecosystem.</p>\n<p>CashApp users increased 50% over the prior year in the fourth quarter to 36 million, and Cash App revenue increased more than 500%. A little bit of context is necessary here: Square records Bitcoin volume as revenue, and Bitcoin accounted for 80% of Cash App revenue in the fourth quarter and more than half of total revenue. Without Bitcoin, though, Cash App still grew 137%.</p>\n<p>According to a McKinsey survey, digital penetration reached 78% in 2020, and that includes 93% for ages 13-34. People using more than one type of digital payment increased to 58%. More than half of survey respondents said they shifted to online shopping during the pandemic, and more than a third said they would increase that. The pandemic accelerated what was already a shift to digital payments, and that's good news for Square.</p>\n<p><b>The power of the mobile wallet</b></p>\n<p>Square is poised to benefit from the move to digital wallets, and that means increased revenue from a growing and engaged user base. A Cash App account is simpler to use than a bank account, and the \"ecosystem\" aspect of Cash App as a peer-to-peer payments account and trading account is a very attractive feature. As we become more cashless, Square's investments in its platform are likely to yield more customers, higher engagement, and increased revenue.</p>\n<p>Cash App is also becoming more profitable, with gross profit per user up 70% year over year in Q4. Square became profitable for the first time in 2018, and it's been posting more consistent profits over the past two years. Q4 earnings of $294 million were a 24% decrease year over year, but as the seller business gets back up to speed, that should increase.</p>\n<p>Square sees a more than $60 billion addressable market for Cash App, of which it has less than 2%. In the near term, it's planning to gain market share by expanding the Cash App product line and improving customer service. But it has strong tailwinds that will continue to accelerate digital payment adoption as we move away from the pandemic.</p>\n<p>If you're looking for a growth stock that offers potential in the short and long term, Square is a candidate for you. But the bigger story is that the fintech company's long-term potential became more apparent as the year went on, and the market rewarded shareholders with roughly 350% gains over the course of the year. ARK Invest chief Cathie Wood, whose investment decisions are watched by growth investors everywhere, has made Square one of her largest holdings. Is it the right long-term stock for you?\nThe cashless society is coming\nSquare operates two ecosystems: one for sellers, which caters to the small and medium-sized business clients that use its fintech solutions, and Cash App, which individuals use to send payments and related functions. In many ways, it's similar to fintech leader PayPal, which offers similar products and services.\nIMAGE SOURCE: SQUARE.\nAs would be expected, the seller division was mixed during the pandemic. Physical small businesses suffered during lockdowns, but many with digital capabilities flourished. Square sees a $100 billion addressable market, of which it has less than 3%.\nCash App, though, was a high performer during the pandemic as people stayed home and relied on mobile wallets to send and receive money. The company also expanded features for Cash App, such as stock and Bitcoin trading, as well as Cash Card and a rewards program. More than a million Cash App users bought Bitcoin for the first time in Q4, and the cryptocurrency was traded two and a half times more than in Q4 2019. Square itself bought $230 million of Bitcoin recently as it steers itself toward an expanded digital payment ecosystem.\nCashApp users increased 50% over the prior year in the fourth quarter to 36 million, and Cash App revenue increased more than 500%. A little bit of context is necessary here: Square records Bitcoin volume as revenue, and Bitcoin accounted for 80% of Cash App revenue in the fourth quarter and more than half of total revenue. Without Bitcoin, though, Cash App still grew 137%.\nAccording to a McKinsey survey, digital penetration reached 78% in 2020, and that includes 93% for ages 13-34. People using more than one type of digital payment increased to 58%. More than half of survey respondents said they shifted to online shopping during the pandemic, and more than a third said they would increase that. The pandemic accelerated what was already a shift to digital payments, and that's good news for Square.\nThe power of the mobile wallet\nSquare is poised to benefit from the move to digital wallets, and that means increased revenue from a growing and engaged user base. A Cash App account is simpler to use than a bank account, and the \"ecosystem\" aspect of Cash App as a peer-to-peer payments account and trading account is a very attractive feature. As we become more cashless, Square's investments in its platform are likely to yield more customers, higher engagement, and increased revenue.\nCash App is also becoming more profitable, with gross profit per user up 70% year over year in Q4. Square became profitable for the first time in 2018, and it's been posting more consistent profits over the past two years. Q4 earnings of $294 million were a 24% decrease year over year, but as the seller business gets back up to speed, that should increase.\nSquare sees a more than $60 billion addressable market for Cash App, of which it has less than 2%. In the near term, it's planning to gain market share by expanding the Cash App product line and improving customer service. Here are four reasons markets fell today.</p>\n<p>Covid Cases are rising globally. The seven-day average hit 628,035 on April 10, up 63% from 384346 on Feb. 28. Global cases have topped 142 million, and India recently reported more than 250,000 cases on its own. The continued spread threatens to overwhelm the positive narrative about vaccines in the U.S. Reports that India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the country and that a full lockdown could but put in place has only spooked the market further.</p>\n<p>The vaccine narrative is weakening. The market opened lower this morning, but the drop really accelerated when the European Medicines Agency announced that it had found a possible link to very rare cases of blood clots in users of Johnson &amp; Johnson’s (JNJ) vaccine, and said a warning should be added. That overwhelmed its conclusion that the ‘overall benefit-risk remains positive’ for the vaccine because it could mean fewer people get vaccinated. Even before the latest announcement, confidence was eroding. “It doesn’t seem likely that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is going to completely disappear anytime soon,” JPMorgan strategists concluded in a report released Tuesday. “The lack of a vaccine for those aged under 18 years, the less than 100% take-up of vaccines, the less than 100% efficacy of vaccines and the development of variants mean that the prevalence of infection will remain for a long time, even if at a low level.”</p>\n<p>The reopening narrative is weakening. United Airlines (UAL) earnings were worse than expected. The U.S. State Department put 80% of the world’s nations on a “do not travel” list due to high levels of Covid. And the worst performing stocks are part of the reopening trade. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) closed down 4.4%, American Airlines (AAL) slid 5.5%, Marriott International (MAR) fell 4%, Devon Energy (DVN) slumped 4.8%, and Zions Bancorp (ZION) has tumbled 6.5%. That pretty much says it all right there.</p>\n<p>Investors are questioning the economic recovery. At this point, everyone knows that the economic recovery is going to be strong. When even the International Monetary Fund realizes that’s the case, you know it’s consensus. Now, the market is wrestling with whether growth has peaked or if there’s further acceleration ahead. With little economic data to shift the narrative this week, investors are asking “what have you done for me lately.”</p>\n<p>None of this means a bear market is ahead of us, and just because investors are embracing a narrative, doesn’t mean that’s how the future plays out. It is the future, after all. But the market is always trying to adjust to greater risk after a massive rally. The company also expanded features for Cash App, such as stock and&nbsp;<b>Bitcoin</b>&nbsp;trading, as well as Cash Card and a rewards program. More than a million Cash App users bought Bitcoin for the first time in Q4, and the cryptocurrency was traded two and a half times more than in Q4 2019. Square itself bought $230 million of Bitcoin recently as it steers itself toward an expanded digital payment ecosystem.</p>\n<p>CashApp users increased 50% over the prior year in the fourth quarter to 36 million, and Cash App revenue increased more than 500%. A little bit of context is necessary here: Square records Bitcoin volume as revenue, and Bitcoin accounted for 80% of Cash App revenue in the fourth quarter and more than half of total revenue. Without Bitcoin, though, Cash App still grew 137%.</p>\n<p>According to a McKinsey survey, digital penetration reached 78% in 2020, and that includes 93% for ages 13-34. People using more than one type of digital payment increased to 58%. More than half of survey respondents said they shifted to online shopping during the pandemic, and more than a third said they would increase that. The pandemic accelerated what was already a shift to digital payments, and that's good news for Square.</p>\n<p><b>The power of the mobile wallet</b></p>\n<p>Square is poised to benefit from the move to digital wallets, and that means increased revenue from a growing and engaged user base. agency notice about the merger, but they are allowed to notify authorities 30 days after the transaction.</p>\n<p>The agency will then review the transaction \"to focus on various relevant markets in the GoTo Group ecosystem, as well as the potential for monopolistic practices or unfair business competition that can arise after the transaction,\" it said, noting that a transaction in the digital market usually requires a complex network effect analysis.</p>\n<p>The KPPU also urged other business owners and members of the public to report any violation of regulations on business competition after the formation of the GoTo group.</p>\n<p>If the KPPU assessment found that the merger could result in unhealthy business competition, the company will be told to make adjustments to their Global cases have topped 142 million, and India recently reported more than 250,000 cases on its own. The continued spread threatens to overwhelm the positive narrative about vaccines in the U.S. Reports that India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the country and that a full lockdown could but put in place has only spooked the market further.</p>\n<p>The vaccine narrative is weakening. The market opened lower this morning, but the drop really accelerated when the European Medicines Agency announced that it had found a possible link to very rare cases of blood clots in users of Johnson &amp; Johnson’s (JNJ) vaccine, and said a warning should be added. That overwhelmed its conclusion that the ‘overall benefit-risk remains positive’ for the vaccine because it could mean fewer people get vaccinated. Even before the latest announcement, confidence was eroding. “It doesn’t seem likely that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is going to completely disappear anytime soon,” JPMorgan strategists concluded in a report released Tuesday. “The lack of a vaccine for those aged under 18 years, the less than 100% take-up of vaccines, the less than 100% efficacy of vaccines and the development of variants mean that the prevalence of infection will remain for a long time, even if at a low level.”</p>\n<p>The reopening narrative is weakening. United Airlines (UAL) earnings were worse than expected. The U.S. State Department put 80% of the world’s nations on a “do not travel” list due to high levels of Covid. And the worst performing stocks are part of the reopening trade. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) closed down 4.4%, American Airlines (AAL) slid 5.5%, Marriott International (MAR) fell 4%, Devon Energy (DVN) slumped 4.8%, and Zions Bancorp (ZION) has tumbled 6.5%. That pretty much says it all right there.</p>\n<p>Investors are questioning the economic recovery. At this point, everyone knows that the economic recovery is going to be strong. When even the International Monetary Fund realizes that’s the case, you know it’s consensus. Now, the market is wrestling with whether growth has peaked or if there’s further acceleration ahead. With little economic data to shift the narrative this week, investors are asking “what have you done for me lately.”</p>\n<p>None of this means a bear market is ahead of us, and just because investors are embracing a narrative, doesn’t mean that’s how the future plays out. It is the future, after all. But the market is always trying to adjust to greater risk after a massive rally.
