the S&P 500 gained 0.74 points, or 0.02%, at 4,227.26; and the Nasdaq Composite added 43.19 points, or 0.31%, at 13,924.91.Of the 11 major sectors in the S&P 500, consumer discretionary enjoyed the biggest percentage gain, and utilities suffered the largest loss.Sales of Tesla Inc’s China-made electric cars jumped in May by 29%, marking a 177% year-on-year increase, according to the China Passenger Car Association. The stock erased initial gains on the news to close down 0.3%.Boeing Co shares were boosted by Southwest Airlines’ announcement that it had ordered 34 new 737 MAX aircraft, but the planemaker’s shares pared gains to end the session flat.GameStop, the company most closely associated with the Reddit-driven short squeeze phenomenon, is expected to report quarterly results after markets close on Wednesday.Advancing issues outnumbered decliners on the NYSE by a 1.74-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.66-to-1 ratio favored advancers. The S&P 500 posted 54 new 52-week highs and one new low; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 172 new highs and 16 new lows.Volume on U.S. exchanges was 11.82 billion shares, compared with the 10.75 billion average over the last 20 trading days.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":190,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":118856177,"gmtCreate":1622728569099,"gmtModify":1634098670250,"author":{"id":"3581728731490982","authorId":"3581728731490982","name":"lilothesue","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e5be11a7f2db4febfe0c4797b46e62fb","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581728731490982","idStr":"3581728731490982"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Let's go","listText":"Let's go","text":"Let's go","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/118856177","repostId":"1132387144","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1132387144","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1622724802,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1132387144?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-03 20:53","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Don’t ignore these 3 changes to investing highlighted by GameStop, BlackBerry and AMC, says top economist","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1132387144","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"Markets were off to a slow start on Thursday, with one exception: meme stocks.Shares in videogame re","content":"<p>Markets were off to a slow start on Thursday, with one exception: meme stocks.</p><p>Shares in videogame retailer GameStop have risen more than 20% this week while cinema group AMC’s stock price has nearly doubled, and shares in technology group BlackBerry rose more than 30% on Wednesday alone.
