Growth","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1162142836","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Facebook Inc. analysts and investors are holding to their positive views of the social-media company","content":"
Facebook Inc. analysts and investors are holding to their positive views of the social-media company’s long-term prospects, even as shares dipped following a tepid quarterly report and additional reports of hate speech and misinformation on the platform.
\n
More than 80% of analysts tracked by Bloomberg recommend buying Facebook stock, with Rosenblatt Securities joining the chorus on Tuesday with an upgrade following the latest report. While acknowledging near-term headwinds, notably an Apple policy that restricts data collection on iPhones, firms continue to see a positive long-term growth story, along with a valuation that appears more attractive following recent losses.
\n
“The stock looks oversold near-term following last night’s reset,” wrote Rosenblatt analyst Mark Zgutowicz, who sees limited potential for additional near-term weakness.
\n
Shares fell 0.5% on Tuesday. The stock has declined about 15% off a September peak amid negative headlines and intense scrutiny over Facebook’s content strategy and some of its products. It remains up nearly 20% for 2021.
\n
Facebook’s third-quarter revenue missed expectations and it gave a below-consensus revenue outlook, again warning about the impact Apple’s policy would have on growth. While a number of Wall Street firms trimmed their price targets, they noted a number of positives, including engagement across Facebook’s family of apps and the company’s ability to navigate the Apple issue.
\n
After losing more than $150 billion in market value in less than two months, Facebook has surrendered its $1 trillion valuation tag, and the slump has cost it a place among the five most-valuable U.S. companies. However, it has also made the stock the cheapest among the mega-cap U.S. technology names, trading at just 18.7 times forward earnings.
\n
The valuation, along with revenue that is expected to continue growing at a double-digit pace for the next several quarters, has kept investors positive.
\n
“We’re still pretty bullish on the name. It has the cheapest valuation of its peers, it is trading at a discount to its long-term multiples, and the stock has already pulled back,” said Jordan Kahn, chief investment officer of ACM Funds, which owns the stock. He also said that the series of negative news reports about the company were not a reason to sell, calling them an issue that impacts sentiment as opposed to fundamentals.
\n
“Facebook has had these periodic episodes where it comes under scrutiny, but it always does an exceptional job of navigating the waters and continuing to put up profits,” he said in a phone interview.
","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Facebook Analysts Look Past Outlook Miss to Long-Term Growth
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nFacebook Analysts Look Past Outlook Miss to Long-Term Growth\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-10-26 22:09 GMT+8 Bloomberg\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Facebook Inc. analysts and investors are holding to their positive views of the social-media company’s long-term prospects, even as shares dipped following a tepid quarterly report and additional ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/news/facebook-analysts-look-past-outlook-140159177.html","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1162142836","content_text":"Facebook Inc. analysts and investors are holding to their positive views of the social-media company’s long-term prospects, even as shares dipped following a tepid quarterly report and additional reports of hate speech and misinformation on the platform.\nMore than 80% of analysts tracked by Bloomberg recommend buying Facebook stock, with Rosenblatt Securities joining the chorus on Tuesday with an upgrade following the latest report. While a number of Wall Street firms trimmed their price targets, they noted a number of positives, including engagement across Facebook’s family of apps and the company’s ability to navigate the Apple issue.\nAfter losing more than $150 billion in market value in less than two months, Facebook has surrendered its $1 trillion valuation tag, and the slump has cost it a place among the five most-valuable U.S. companies. However, it has also made the stock the cheapest among the mega-cap U.S. technology names, trading at just 18.7 times forward earnings.\nThe valuation, along with revenue that is expected to continue growing at a double-digit pace for the next several quarters, has kept investors positive.\n“We’re still pretty bullish on the name. It has the cheapest valuation of its peers, it is trading at a discount to its long-term multiples, and the stock has already pulled back,” said Jordan Kahn, chief investment officer of ACM Funds, which owns the stock. He also said that the series of negative news reports about the company were not a reason to sell, calling them an issue that impacts sentiment as opposed to fundamentals.\n“Facebook has had these periodic episodes where it comes under scrutiny, but it always does an exceptional job of navigating the waters and continuing to put up profits,” he said in a phone interview.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":408,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":853041693,"gmtCreate":1634745247688,"gmtModify":1634745248049,"author":{"id":"3577182787260052","authorId":"3577182787260052","name":"Attica88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/25f5fb94ec59d52eafaa236c989b1b2b","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Latwst","listText":"Latwst","text":"Latwst","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/853041693","repostId":"1181418547","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1181418547","pubTimestamp":1634744179,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1181418547?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-20 23:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"PayPal Said to Explore Purchase of Social Media Firm Pinterest","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1181418547","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"PayPal Holdings Inc. is exploring an acquisition of social media company Pinterest, Inc., people wit","content":"
PayPal Holdings Inc. is exploring an acquisition of social media company Pinterest, Inc., people with knowledge of the matter said.
\n
San Jose, California-based PayPal has recently approached Pinterest about a potential deal, the people said, asking not to be identified because the talks are private, Bloomberg News reports.
\n
Pinterest shares soar over 9%
\n

","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Investors will hear from Delta Air Lines (DAL),Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), and UnitedHealth Group (UNH), plus, banking heavyweights JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM), Bank of America(BAC). It will provide a view of how businesses performed during the third quarter of 2021, and offer a glimpse into coming quarters as well.
\n
Analysts are forecasting aggregate earnings per share on the S&P 500 to grow 24.5%, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. Some of the most economically sensitive sectors are still expecting the largest rebound in EPS, as last year’s third quarter was still ravaged by partial lockdowns. S&P 500 industrial and material companies are expected to see 73% and 90% year-over-year growth, respectively, with energy expected to go from losses to profits. Two of the slowest growing sectors will be the traditionally non-volatile and highly stable consumer staples and utility sectors, expected to see EPS grow 3% and fall 2.9%, respectively.
\n
No matter the predicted growth, companies need to post big earnings beats in order for their shares to gain much. The S&P 500 has already risen 17.9% this year, as companies benefited from the unprecedented reopening following Covid-19 shutdowns and trillions of dollars of fiscal stimulus. As a result, valuations already reflect a large earnings stream, with the average S&P 500 stock trading at around 20.5 times 12-month forward earnings estimates, above the long-term average in the mid-teens. For the market to live up to those valuations, the index needs to beat expectations by at least 10% in order to rally into year-end, writes Nicholas Colas, co-founder of DataTrek.
\n
That won’t be easy. Nike (NKE) and FedEx (FDX), for example, posted mixed results as supply chain constraints and rising costs ate into sales and profit margins, causing the stocks to fall 6% and 9%, respectively, the trading day after their earnings reports. The size of earnings beats from early reporters has been shrinking as well. So far, early reporters have topped earnings forecasts by just 4%, well below the 23.2% and 15.5% during the second quarter in 2020 and 2021.
\n
“We believe that economic headwinds will mitigate the benefits from pricing power and operating leverage, leading to less robust surprises in the third quarter,” writes Jonathan Golub, chief U.S. equity strategist at Credit Suisse.
\n
Earnings estimates have begun to reflect those headwinds. Third-quarter forecasts have fallen about 0.8% since the beginning of September. That may not seem like much, but if companies say they expect more difficulty accessing supplies and that higher costs are persisting, analysts could revise 2022 estimates lower. “This sets up the first earnings season in the recovery where earnings risk clearly exists,” writes Tavis McCourt, institutional equity strategist at Raymond James.
\n
The good news? The S&P 500 is down 3.8% from its Sept. 2 all-time high, so there’s a chance that some of the earnings risks are already reflected in the market.
\n
The question is whether it’s enough.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Another Earnings Season Is Here. It will provide a view of how businesses performed during the third quarter of 2021, and offer a glimpse into coming quarters as well.\nAnalysts are forecasting aggregate earnings per share on the S&P 500 to grow 24.5%, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. Two of the slowest growing sectors will be the traditionally non-volatile and highly stable consumer staples and utility sectors, expected to see EPS grow 3% and fall 2.9%, respectively.\nNo matter the predicted growth, companies need to post big earnings beats in order for their shares to gain much. For the market to live up to those valuations, the index needs to beat expectations by at least 10% in order to rally into year-end, writes Nicholas Colas, co-founder of DataTrek.\nThat won’t be easy. So far, early reporters have topped earnings forecasts by just 4%, well below the 23.2% and 15.5% during the second quarter in 2020 and 2021.\n“We believe that economic headwinds will mitigate the benefits from pricing power and operating leverage, leading to less robust surprises in the third quarter,” writes Jonathan Golub, chief U.S. equity strategist at Credit Suisse.\nEarnings estimates have begun to reflect those headwinds. Third-quarter forecasts have fallen about 0.8% since the beginning of September. That may not seem like much, but if companies say they expect more difficulty accessing supplies and that higher costs are persisting, analysts could revise 2022 estimates lower. “This sets up the first earnings season in the recovery where earnings risk clearly exists,” writes Tavis McCourt, institutional equity strategist at Raymond James.\nThe good news? The S&P 500 is down 3.8% from its Sept. 2 all-time high, so there’s a chance that some of the earnings risks are already reflected in the market.\nThe question is whether it’s enough.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":477,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":828894702,"gmtCreate":1633880143508,"gmtModify":1633880143629,"author":{"id":"3577182787260052","authorId":"3577182787260052","name":"Attica88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/25f5fb94ec59d52eafaa236c989b1b2b","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Latest","listText":"Latest","text":"Latest","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/828894702","repostId":"2174920514","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2174920514","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1633764600,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2174920514?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-09 15:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Is the stock market open on Columbus Day? Is it a Buy?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2173091050","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"This specialty company is a high-yield play at nearly 5%, and it's got a very durable business model.","content":"
Do you like dividends? If so, you're in good company. Warren Buffett, the CEO of powerhouse investment company Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B), is fond of them too; Berkshire's equity portfolio is stuffed with companies that pay their shareholders on the regular.
\n
One stock in particular stands out. Not only does it have the fourth-highest yield of all 46 stocks in the portfolio, but Berkshire's position of more than $800 million gives Buffett's company a big 9% holding in the company. Read on to find out why Buffett and his team are all-in on this high-yield stock (which currently tips the scales at 4.7%).
\n
A great store of value
\n
Let's pull the curtain back: The stock in question is Store Capital (NYSE:STOR), which has the distinction of being Berkshire's only real estate investment trust (REIT). As a retail REIT, Store Capital owns and leases retail properties, specifically those operated by single tenants.
\n
But uniqueness in a portfolio and obvious affection from the investing master are not sufficient reasons for us to put money into a stock (plus, we should remember that Buffett has had his share of misfires -- for example, with troubled food giant Kraft Heinz). So let's explore whether or not Store Capital is a worthy buy for the average investor.
\n

\n
\n
Buffett has always been drawn to companies with straightforward business models and reliable growth. Store Capital certainly ticks those boxes; in the pre-pandemic days, it did a fine job of increasing its revenue. In fact, it managed to nearly double its top line from 2016 to 2019, from just over $376 million to nearly $700 million. Adjusted funds from operations (or AFFO, the most meaningful profitability metric for REITs) leaped even higher, rising from $246 million in 2016 to $463 million in 2019.
\n
REITs are obligated to spend the vast bulk of their net profits on shareholder remuneration, which is why their dividends tend to be generous relative to other types of companies.
\n
Store Capital is no different, and thanks to that rising AFFO and bottom line, there always seems to be room for an increase. The REIT has boosted its quarterly dividend at least once annually since going public in late 2014. Across that not-quite-seven year stretch the payout has ballooned from slightly over $0.11 per share to the present level of $0.36.
\n
The coronavirus pandemic crashed hard into the retail sector, leading to store closures and a general reluctance among customers to leave their homes to shop. That would have been devastating for Store Capital had it not been so widely diversified. The company has properties in 49 states, only one of which (Texas) comprises over 10% of the total dollar amount of that portfolio. The REIT is even more assertive in hedging its tenant list; no single renter is responsible for more than 3% of the total.
\n
As a result, compared to many other retail REITs (and the retail industry in general), Store Capital has done a good job threading its way through the pandemic. As the coronavirus spread last year, the company pulled back sharply on its typically busy acquisition activity, reducing its buys to a total of just over $800 million, down from $1.69 billion in 2019 and $1.63 billion in 2018.
\n
Still, $800 million is a big pile for asset buys. So that curtailed-yet-still-vibrant investment activity, combined with Store Capital's standard rent increases, helped the company actually grow its revenue for the year (it was up by over 4% compared to 2019). AFFO inched up by slightly more than 1% -- a pretty small number, but hey, in that environment any growth at all was an impressive feat.
\n
Open doors and open wallets
\n
So it stands to reason that as the coronavirus (hopefully) starts to recede in a big way as the threat of the delta variant decreases, Store Capital will be in a position to really rack it up. In announcing its second-quarter results in August, the company lifted its AFFO guidance for the full year to $1.94 to $1.97 per share from the previous $1.90-to-$1.96 range. If realized, this would be a meaningful improvement over 2020's $1.83.
\n
I think Store Capital's new forecast is still conservative. With recent large-scale vaccination mandates dealing hard blows to the coronavirus, even more people will escape their homes for bouts of shopping, to the point where crowds will be the rule and not the exception.
\n
When this happens, this REIT will start putting up some powerful growth numbers. If so, you're in good company. Warren Buffett, the CEO of powerhouse investment company Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B), is fond of them too; Berkshire's equity portfolio is stuffed with companies that pay their shareholders on the regular.\nOne stock in particular stands out. Not only does it have the fourth-highest yield of all 46 stocks in the portfolio, but Berkshire's position of more than $800 million gives Buffett's company a big 9% holding in the company. Read on to find out why Buffett and his team are all-in on this high-yield stock (which currently tips the scales at 4.7%).\nA great store of value\nLet's pull the curtain back: The stock in question is Store Capital (NYSE:STOR), which has the distinction of being Berkshire's only real estate investment trust (REIT). As a retail REIT, Store Capital owns and leases retail properties, specifically those operated by single tenants.\nBut uniqueness in a portfolio and obvious affection from the investing master are not sufficient reasons for us to put money into a stock (plus, we should remember that Buffett has had his share of misfires -- for example, with troubled food giant Kraft Heinz). So let's explore whether or not Store Capital is a worthy buy for the average investor.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nBuffett has always been drawn to companies with straightforward business models and reliable growth. Store Capital certainly ticks those boxes; in the pre-pandemic days, it did a fine job of increasing its revenue. In fact, it managed to nearly double its top line from 2016 to 2019, from just over $376 million to nearly $700 million. Adjusted funds from operations (or AFFO, the most meaningful profitability metric for REITs) leaped even higher, rising from $246 million in 2016 to $463 million in 2019.\nREITs are obligated to spend the vast bulk of their net profits on shareholder remuneration, which is why their dividends tend to be generous relative to other types of companies.\nStore Capital is no different, and thanks to that rising AFFO and bottom line, there always seems to be room for an increase. The REIT has boosted its quarterly dividend at least once annually since going public in late 2014. Across that not-quite-seven year stretch the payout has ballooned from slightly over $0.11 per share to the present level of $0.36.\nThe coronavirus pandemic crashed hard into the retail sector, leading to store closures and a general reluctance among customers to leave their homes to shop. That would have been devastating for Store Capital had it not been so widely diversified. The company has properties in 49 states, only one of which (Texas) comprises over 10% of the total dollar amount of that portfolio. The REIT is even more assertive in hedging its tenant list; no single renter is responsible for more than 3% of the total.\nAs a result, compared to many other retail REITs (and the retail industry in general), Store Capital has done a good job threading its way through the pandemic. As the coronavirus spread last year, the company pulled back sharply on its typically busy acquisition activity, reducing its buys to a total of just over $800 million, down from $1.69 billion in 2019 and $1.63 billion in 2018.\nStill, $800 million is a big pile for asset buys. So that curtailed-yet-still-vibrant investment activity, combined with Store Capital's standard rent increases, helped the company actually grow its revenue for the year (it was up by over 4% compared to 2019). AFFO inched up by slightly more than 1% -- a pretty small number, but hey, in that environment any growth at all was an impressive feat.\nOpen doors and open wallets\nSo it stands to reason that as the coronavirus (hopefully) starts to recede in a big way as the threat of the delta variant decreases, Store Capital will be in a position to really rack it up. In announcing its second-quarter results in August, the company lifted its AFFO guidance for the full year to $1.94 to $1.97 per share from the previous $1.90-to-$1.96 range. If realized, this would be a meaningful improvement over 2020's $1.83.\nI think Store Capital's new forecast is still conservative. With recent large-scale vaccination mandates dealing hard blows to the coronavirus, even more people will escape their homes for bouts of shopping, to the point where crowds will be the rule and not the exception.\nWhen this happens, this REIT will start putting up some powerful growth numbers. Store Capital more than held its own during the pandemic; imagine how well it'll do in a much healthier and freer environment.\nWe can also easily envision the company maintaining its dividend raise habit as we return to something approaching normal life. Investors, particularly dividend stock aficionados, should absolutely consider putting this stock in their shopping cart.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":396,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":829937855,"gmtCreate":1633449350742,"gmtModify":1633449351047,"author":{"id":"3577182787260052","authorId":"3577182787260052","name":"Attica88","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/25f5fb94ec59d52eafaa236c989b1b2b","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Latest","listText":"Latest","text":"Latest","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/829937855","repostId":"2173151439","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2173151439","pubTimestamp":1633447560,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2173151439?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-05 23:26","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Peloton Stock Is Becoming a Value","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2173151439","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"This exercise equipment maker's stock price is down, but not out.","content":"
Share prices of Peloton Interactive (NASDAQ:PTON) are 51% off all-time highs set in mid-January, caught up in an investing trend that instead favors COVID-19 recovery stocks. It hasn't helped that management has made some missteps with its Tread recall, which lost the company a fair amount of goodwill with customers and investors back in April.
\n
But if we take a step back and look at Peloton as a growth stock, the long-term story is still strong. The company's user base is growing, its product lineup is expanding, and financial performance is getting better. Here's why I think this stock could be a value in today's market.
\n
Subscriptions are the key
\n
If Peloton is going to be successful as a company, it won't be because it makes or sells bikes. It'll be because it generates growing, high-margin subscription revenue. And on that front, the company is doing very well.
\n
Subscription revenue was up 132% year over year in the fiscal fourth quarter to $281.6 million, and gross profit from subscriptions was up 159% to $178.1 million.
\n
The subscription business is also a big reason the company's move into corporate wellness and hotel and resort settings is so important. Peloton has been able to attract millions of active members, but reaching new customers who are allowing others to use their Peloton equipment and subscriptions at rental locations can be another way to leverage the company's equipment and content base.
\n
Expanding on a strong core
\n
In fiscal 2018, Peloton was almost entirely a stationary cycling company, with cycling accounting for about 85% of the company's workouts. But in the past three years, the company has expanded how people use its products. Strength programs are now about 20% of workouts, and floor content is around 10%. Cycling is now less than 60% of the workouts done in any given year, and shrinking.
\n
I think this is a sign that Peloton is building a product that's attractive to more users and becoming stickier for subscribers. If Peloton has something for everyone, it's going to provide much more value to subscribers long-term.
\n
In time, we could even see Peloton slowly raise subscription prices because of the value it's providing.
\n
Peloton has growth opportunities ahead
\n
After acquiring its own manufacturing facility in the U.S., Peloton now has more control of not only manufacturing and inventory but also new product development. We know a new Tread is on the way, and improved bikes are likely as well.
\n
I think Peloton could also expand into home strength equipment and even wearables. Peloton is already a critical fitness tool for members, so why not deepen that relationship?
\n
The company has a lot of opportunities to expand its product footprint and engage even more with customers. As it does, the incremental benefit to users from more digital content makes a Peloton subscription that much more valuable.
\n
The growth story isn't over
\n
There are a number of potential threats to Peloton's business, from Apple's growing suite of fitness content to the reopening of gyms around the world. But I think the content library that Peloton has built along with the installed base of bikes and treadmills will make this a formidable fitness company for years. Remember that the value of Peloton is in the number of users subscribing to and using the company's workout content -- and with 459.7 million workouts done by Peloton customers in the last year, this is a workout company that has a huge lead over the competition in at-home workouts.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why Peloton Stock Is Becoming a Value
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhy Peloton Stock Is Becoming a Value\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-10-05 23:26 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Share prices of Peloton Interactive (NASDAQ:PTON) are 51% off all-time highs set in mid-January, caught up in an investing trend that instead favors COVID-19 recovery stocks. It reports again later this month.
\n
AMC would have to double from here to revisit its June highs. Check the upcoming theatrical release slate to know why movie theaters are about to get a whole lot better.
\n
Upstart is revolutionizing the way creditworthiness is determined in consumer loans, and it's laughing all the way to the bank.
\n
\n

\n
It's been a volatile year for stocks, but naturally some investments have fared better than others. Over 300 stocks have more than doubled in 2021. Many of those winning investments will be lucky if they can hold those gains through the final three months of the year, but what about the names that have the potential to double again?
\n
Crocs (NASDAQ:CROX),AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC), andUpstart (NASDAQ:UPST)have more than doubled in value through the first nine months of 2021. Let's see why they have what it takes to possibly repeat the feat in the fourth quarter.
\n
1. Crocs
\n
Remember those bright rubbery shoes with holes in them? They're back in a big way. Crocs sales are booming since the pandemic began, and the stock is following suit with a 129% increase through the first nine months of 2021.
\n
The comfortable resin shoes were already making a comeback before the COVID-19 crisis with double-digit revenue growth in 2019 before repeating the feat in 2020. Momentum is what's really taking Crocs to a higher level in 2021.
\n
The year began with the footwear maker projecting 20%-to-25% top-line growth for the entire year back in February. Guidance was bumped higher -- to between 40% and 50% growth -- the following quarter. It happened again this summer, with Crocs now targeting a 60%-to-65% surge in revenue for all of 2021. What do you think will happen if those targets get pushed even higher when it reports third-quarter results later this month?
\n
Despite a stock that has popped nearly sixfold since the start of 2019, Crocs is reasonably priced given its accelerating growth. It's trading at 21 times this year's earnings and just 17 times next year's target. There's clearly room to increase those multiples, and Wall Street's finally as comfortable with Crocs as an investment as its customers are in its shoes.
\n
2. AMC Entertainment
\n
You may be surprised to find the country's leading multiplex operator on this list, but plot twists are what make movies so good. It's certainly true that AMC Entertainment has appreciated -- in terms of both stock price and a fivefold explosion in shares outstanding -- to the point where its valuation is out of whack relative to its peers'. It reports again later this month.\nAMC would have to double from here to revisit its June highs. Check the upcoming theatrical release slate to know why movie theaters are about to get a whole lot better.\nUpstart is revolutionizing the way creditworthiness is determined in consumer loans, and it's laughing all the way to the bank.\n\n\nIt's been a volatile year for stocks, but naturally some investments have fared better than others. Over 300 stocks have more than doubled in 2021. Many of those winning investments will be lucky if they can hold those gains through the final three months of the year, but what about the names that have the potential to double again?\nCrocs (NASDAQ:CROX),AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC), andUpstart (NASDAQ:UPST)have more than doubled in value through the first nine months of 2021. Let's see why they have what it takes to possibly repeat the feat in the fourth quarter.\n1. Crocs\nRemember those bright rubbery shoes with holes in them? They're back in a big way. Crocs sales are booming since the pandemic began, and the stock is following suit with a 129% increase through the first nine months of 2021.\nThe comfortable resin shoes were already making a comeback before the COVID-19 crisis with double-digit revenue growth in 2019 before repeating the feat in 2020. Momentum is what's really taking Crocs to a higher level in 2021.\nThe year began with the footwear maker projecting 20%-to-25% top-line growth for the entire year back in February. Guidance was bumped higher -- to between 40% and 50% growth -- the following quarter. It happened again this summer, with Crocs now targeting a 60%-to-65% surge in revenue for all of 2021. What do you think will happen if those targets get pushed even higher when it reports third-quarter results later this month?\nDespite a stock that has popped nearly sixfold since the start of 2019, Crocs is reasonably priced given its accelerating growth. It's trading at 21 times this year's earnings and just 17 times next year's target. There's clearly room to increase those multiples, and Wall Street's finally as comfortable with Crocs as an investment as its customers are in its shoes.\n2. AMC Entertainment\nYou may be surprised to find the country's leading multiplex operator on this list, but plot twists are what make movies so good. It's certainly true that AMC Entertainment has appreciated -- in terms of both stock price and a fivefold explosion in shares outstanding -- to the point where its valuation is out of whack relative to its peers'. If you want a pure investing play on the movie theater industry's recovery, you will find more attractively priced stocks toscratchthatitch.\nHowever, as ameme stockand cultural phenomenon it's hard to argue against what AMC has done to translate its popularity among retail investors into a legitimate market share grab in the recovery process. The fourth quarter should be a lot stronger for the industry than the naysayers think, and if AMC stock gets back to where it was in early June -- fundamentally earned this time -- it will have to double from here.\n3. Upstart\nI love when industries ripe for disruption get upended, and that's what Upstart is doing with the lending industry. Upstart usesartificial intelligenceand machine learning to make better calls on assessing risk profiles and creditworthiness for folks who don't typically get approved for consumer loans.\nGrowth is bonkers. With Columbus Day","content":"
It's also Indigenous Peoples Day.
\n
It's almost a perennial question on Wall Street. With Columbus Day a federal holiday on Monday, investors are curious if the stock market will be opened.
\n
Here is the short answer: yes. But it isn't that simple.
\n
The bond market isn't. Bond traders are off as recommended by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, known as Sifma.
\n
Columbus Day and Veterans Day are the two federal holidays when fixed-income markets are closed due to the federal holiday.
\n
As per usual, the Intercontinental Exchange$(ICE)$-owned New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Inc. $(NDAQ)$ will both be open regular hours. So, the Dow Jones Industrial Average , the S&P 500 index and the Nasdaq Composite Index , to note the three main U.S. bourses, can figure out whether the weaker-than-expected jobs report released on Friday was bullish or bearish in the near term.
\n
Meanwhile, benchmark bonds can take a breather after the 10-year Treasury note yield, 30-year Treasury bond and 2-year Treasury note touched their highest yields in months (since March of 2020 in the case of the shorter-date debt).
\n
Now back to Columbus Day and the curious case of mixed up market closures.
\n
Here's perhaps why it is closed and equities trade on.
\n
Begun back in 1792 and declared a federal day off in 1937 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Columbus Day marks a state and federal holiday. Federal offices, including the U.S. Treasury Department, are closed. That means, Treasurys--a chunk of typical trading activity on regular days and a key benchmark--are also forced to take a holiday.
\n
Columbus Day isn't without its controversy as a holiday intended to celebrate Christopher Columbus for sailing the ocean blue in 1492. Firstly, not all states celebrate the Italian explorer's occasion on the same day. Tennessee tends to celebrate the holiday on Friday. Some states don't acknowledge the day at all, with Alaska, Vermont, Hawaii and South Dakota choosing not to observe it.
\n
Some regions choose to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, which honors Native Americans and challenges the concept that Columbus was the first to discover America.
If you want a pure investing play on the movie theater industry's recovery, you will find more attractively priced stocks toscratchthatitch.
\n
However, as ameme stockand cultural phenomenon it's hard to argue against what AMC has done to translate its popularity among retail investors into a legitimate market share grab in the recovery process. No company has seen its market cap inflate as much as AMC has this year, but this is also a stock that enters the fourth quarter with a stock price that is a little more than half of what it was when it peaked in June. In short, it would have to double from here to revisit its all-time high -- but isn't that always possible with the poster child for 2021 momentum stocks?
\n
Fundamentally speaking, the catalysts are also there.Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsshattered box office records over Labor Day weekend, but the initial excitement fizzled out when subsequent weekends were abysmal. However, it's all about the pipeline. Studios pushed out September releases into October and beyond when the delta variant resulted in a spike in COVID-19 cases. We're now seeing the highly anticipated films start to come back, starting with the new James Bond movie next weekend. The fourth quarter should be a lot stronger for the industry than the naysayers think, and if AMC stock gets back to where it was in early June -- fundamentally earned this time -- it will have to double from here.
\n
3. Upstart
\n
I love when industries ripe for disruption get upended, and that's what Upstart is doing with the lending industry. Upstart usesartificial intelligenceand machine learning to make better calls on assessing risk profiles and creditworthiness for folks who don't typically get approved for consumer loans.
\n
Growth is bonkers. Revenue seemed to be decelerating sharply, with slowing growth spurts of 89%, 52%, and 27% in the last three years respectively. Now that consumers are becoming aware of Upstart as a better alternative to payday loans and other predatory lending products, business is skyrocketing. Revenue rose 90% in the first quarter, only to surge 1,018% in its latest report. And no, that's not a typo.
\n
With Upstart now expanding into the auto loans market, the potential for its better alternative to stodgy credit scores is just getting started. Investors will hear from Delta Air Lines (DAL),Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), and UnitedHealth Group (UNH), plus, banking heavyweights JPMorgan Chase & Co.
At the same time, the stock has attracted plenty of short-sellers. As of Oct. 15, 2021, close to 29.5% of Ocugen's stock float was sold short.
\n
Because of these two factors, any perceived good news for Ocugen is likely to light a fire beneath its stock.
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/news/facebook-analysts-look-past-outlook-140159177.html","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1162142836","content_text":"Facebook Inc. analysts and investors are holding to their positive views of the social-media company’s long-term prospects, even as shares dipped following a tepid quarterly report and additional reports of hate speech and misinformation on the platform.\nMore than 80% of analysts tracked by Bloomberg recommend buying Facebook stock, with Rosenblatt Securities joining the chorus on Tuesday with an upgrade following the latest report. He also said that the series of negative news reports about the company were not a reason to sell, calling them an issue that impacts sentiment as opposed to fundamentals.\n“Facebook has had these periodic episodes where it comes under scrutiny, but it always does an exceptional job of navigating the waters and continuing to put up profits,” he said in a phone interview.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":408,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
