The term refers to equities that have skyrocketed in value without any fundamental justification but are instead seeing their stock prices turn quite volatile based mostly on hype, often from social media platforms.</p>\n<p>Notably, <b>AMC Entertainment Holdings</b> (NYSE:AMC) is among the most popular meme stocks at the moment. Its share price has surged 2,500% this year, driven by irrational enthusiasm from retail investors looking to strike it rich. And some have certainly succeeded, becoming millionaires almost overnight. But many others are likely to get burned when the stock price finally returns to more normal levels.</p>\n<p>If you own shares, here are three reasons to sell AMC stock right now.</p>\n<h3>1. Fundamentals always matter</h3>\n<p>Famed investor Benjamin Graham once said: \"In the short run, the market is a voting machine; but in the long run, it is a weighing machine.\" In other words, popularity drives price action in the short term, but fundamentals matter more over time.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/61107d3657db19f73a4afdc7a9e9a8e5\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"458\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>\n<p>Image source: Getty Images</p>\n<p>Anecdotally, I've read comments from a shocking number of AMC shareholders who assert that fundamentals (things like revenue, cash flow, and valuation) simply don't matter. When confronted with these metrics, they dismiss them and instead resort to accusations of short interest. And maybe some of the dissenters are short-sellers, but I have never been long or short AMC stock.</p>\n<p>Here's the unfortunate truth: Fundamentals always matter. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually the stock price will reflect that. And if AMC's financial picture doesn't improve, the stock price will eventually plunge. And management knows that.</p>\n<p>In fact, in a recently filed Form 8-K, management issued this warning to shareholders: \"Under the circumstances, we caution you against investing in our [stock], unless you are prepared to incur the risk of losing all or a substantial portion of your investment.\"</p>\n<h3>2. AMC stock is wildly overvalued</h3>\n<p>The pandemic hit AMC hard last year, forcing the company to shutter theaters around the world. Not surprisingly, that sparked sharp declines in attendance, sales, and profitability. And despite reopening many locations this year, those metrics are still in free fall.</p>\n<table>\n <thead>\n <tr>\n <th><p>Metric</p></th>\n <th><p>Q2 2020</p></th>\n <th><p>Q3 2020</p></th>\n <th><p>Q4 2020</p></th>\n <th><p>Q1 2021</p></th>\n </tr>\n </thead>\n <tbody>\n <tr>\n <td width=\"144\"><p>YOY attendance growth (decline)</p></td>\n <td width=\"120\"><p>(100%)</p></td>\n <td width=\"126\"><p>(93%)</p></td>\n <td width=\"120\"><p>(91%)</p></td>\n <td width=\"114\"><p>(89%)</p></td>\n </tr>\n <tr>\n <td width=\"144\"><p>Revenue growth (decline)</p></td>\n <td width=\"120\"><p>(99%)</p></td>\n <td width=\"126\"><p>(91%)</p></td>\n <td width=\"120\"><p>(89%)</p></td>\n <td width=\"114\"><p>(84%)</p></td>\n </tr>\n </tbody>\n</table>\n<p>Source: AMC SEC filings. YOY: Year-over-year.</p>\n<p>Oddly, as sales have plummeted, the share price has hit new highs, driving the price-to-sales (P/S) ratio to nonsensical levels. If AMC was competing in a high-growth industry, its present valuation might not be alarming. But it competes in a slow-growing sector of the entertainment industry. Case in point: Box office revenue grew less than 1% per year between 2010 and 2019.</p>\n<table>\n <thead>\n <tr>\n <th><p>Metric</p></th>\n <th><p>Q4 2014</p></th>\n <th><p>Q4 2017</p></th>\n <th><p>Q4 2020</p></th>\n <th><p>Q1 2021</p></th>\n </tr>\n </thead>\n <tbody>\n <tr>\n <td width=\"125\"><p>Price-to-sales ratio</p></td>\n <td width=\"125\"><p>0.95</p></td>\n <td width=\"125\"><p>0.38</p></td>\n <td width=\"125\"><p>0.20</p></td>\n <td width=\"125\"><p>24.22</p></td>\n </tr>\n </tbody>\n</table>\n<p>Source: Ycharts. P/S multiples reflect data from the last day of each quarter.</p>\n<p>I'll end with this observation: Competition from streaming services has never been greater, and AMC's financial performance has never been weaker, so why is AMC stock valued more highly than ever before? At its current price, this is a dangerous investment.</p>\n<h3>3. AMC has a liquidity problem</h3>\n<p>Before the pandemic, AMC had $265 million in cash and $4.7 billion in debt on its balance sheet. It also had $4.9 billion in operating lease liabilities (i.e., rent).</p>\n<p>When the pandemic hit, the company deferred a portion of its rent, but still couldn't cover operating expenses and interest payments. So AMC issued more debt and new shares several times during 2020, effectively digging the hole deeper.</p>\n<p>As of March 31, 2021, AMC's balance sheet was insolvent -- even if the company sold every last asset, it still wouldn't have enough cash to cover its liabilities.</p>\n<p>Now, in order to meet its minimum liquidity requirements, attendance must reach 85% of pre-COVID levels by the fourth quarter of this year. If that doesn't happen, management said it would likely seek a \"restructuring of [its] liabilities.\" That's a fancy phrase that means shareholders would be completely wiped out.</p>\n<p>So let's ignore the red flags raised by AMC's valuation. Investors still need to ask this question: Can attendance reach 85% of pre-pandemic levels in that time frame? If you aren't certain the answer is yes, then it's time to sell this stock. There are better places to put your money.</p>","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\" />\n<meta name=\"viewport\" content=\"width=device-width,initial-scale=1.0,minimum-scale=1.0,maximum-scale=1.0,user-scalable=no\"/>\n<meta name=\"format-detection\" content=\"telephone=no,email=no,address=no\" />\n<title>3 Reasons to Sell AMC Stock Right Now</title>\n<style type=\"text/css\">\na,abbr,acronym,address,applet,article,aside,audio,b,big,blockquote,body,canvas,caption,center,cite,code,dd,del,details,dfn,div,dl,dt,\nem,embed,fieldset,figcaption,figure,footer,form,h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,header,hgroup,html,i,iframe,img,ins,kbd,label,legend,li,mark,menu,nav,\nobject,ol,output,p,pre,q,ruby,s,samp,section,small,span,strike,strong,sub,summary,sup,table,tbody,td,tfoot,th,thead,time,tr,tt,u,ul,var,video{ font:inherit;margin:0;padding:0;vertical-align:baseline;border:0 }\nbody{ font-size:16px; line-height:1.5; color:#999; background:transparent; }\n.wrapper{ overflow:hidden;word-break:break-all;padding:10px; }\nh1,h2{ font-weight:normal; line-height:1.35; margin-bottom:.6em; }\nh3,h4,h5,h6{ line-height:1.35; margin-bottom:1em; }\nh1{ font-size:24px; }\nh2{ font-size:20px; }\nh3{ font-size:18px; }\nh4{ font-size:16px; }\nh5{ font-size:14px; }\nh6{ font-size:12px; }\np,ul,ol,blockquote,dl,table{ margin:1.2em 0; }\nul,ol{ margin-left:2em; }\nul{ list-style:disc; }\nol{ list-style:decimal; }\nli,li p{ margin:10px 0;}\nimg{ max-width:100%;display:block;margin:0 auto 1em; }\nblockquote{ color:#B5B2B1; border-left:3px solid #aaa; padding:1em; }\nstrong,b{font-weight:bold;}\nem,i{font-style:italic;}\ntable{ width:100%;border-collapse:collapse;border-spacing:1px;margin:1em 0;font-size:.9em; }\nth,td{ padding:5px;text-align:left;border:1px solid #aaa; }\nth{ font-weight:bold;background:#5d5d5d; }\n.symbol-link{font-weight:bold;}\n/* header{ border-bottom:1px solid #494756; } */\n.title{ margin:0 0 8px;line-height:1.3;color:#ddd; }\n.meta {color:#5e5c6d;font-size:13px;margin:0 0 .5em; }\na{text-decoration:none; color:#2a4b87;}\n.meta .head { display: inline-block; overflow: hidden}\n.head .h-thumb { width: 30px; height: 30px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border-radius: 50%; float: left;}\n.head .h-content { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0 9px; float: left;}\n.head .h-name {font-size: 13px; color: #eee; margin: 0;}\n.head .h-time {font-size: 11px; color: #7E829C; margin: 0;line-height: 11px;}\n.small {font-size: 12.5px; display: inline-block; transform: scale(0.9); -webkit-transform: scale(0.9); transform-origin: left; -webkit-transform-origin: left;}\n.smaller {font-size: 12.5px; display: inline-block; transform: scale(0.8); -webkit-transform: scale(0.8); transform-origin: left; -webkit-transform-origin: left;}\n.bt-text {font-size: 12px;margin: 1.5em 0 0 0}\n.bt-text p {margin: 0}\n</style>\n</head>\n<body>\n<div class=\"wrapper\">\n<header>\n<h2 class=\"title\">\n3 Reasons to Sell AMC Stock Right Now\n</h2>\n\n<h4 class=\"meta\">\n\n\n2021-06-25 23:10 GMT+8 <a href=https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/06/25/3-reasons-to-sell-amc-stock-right-now/><strong>Motley Fool</strong></a>\n\n\n</h4>\n\n</header>\n<article>\n<div>\n<p>Meme stocks are a relatively new phenomenon. One exabyte (EB) comprises 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) gigabytes (GB). Global mobile data traffic - excluding traffic generated by fixed wireless access (FWA) - exceeded 49 EB per month at the end of 2020 and is projected to grow by a factor of close to 5 to reach 237 EB per month in 2026. Smartphones, which currently carry 95 percent of this traffic, are also consuming more data than ever. Globally, the average usage-per-smartphone now exceeds 10 GB/month and is forecast to reach 35 GB/month by the end of 2026.</p>\n<p><b>5G Communications Service Providers at the forefront of Fixed Wireless Access adoption</b></p>\n<p>The COVID-19 pandemic is accelerating digitalization and increasing the importance of - and the need for - reliable, high-speed mobile broadband connectivity. According to the latest report, almost nine out of ten communications service providers (CSPs) that have launched 5G also have a fixed wireless access (FWA) offering (4G and/or 5G), even in markets with high fiber penetration. This is needed to accommodate increasing FWA traffic, which the report forecasts to grow by a factor of seven to reach 64 EB in 2026.</p>\n<p><b>Massive IoT on the rise</b></p>\n<p>Massive IoT technology (NB-IoT and Cat-M) connections are forecast to increase by almost 80 percent during 2021, reaching almost 330 million connections. These provisional licenses are due on Jan. 1, 2022.</p>\n<p>While adult-use cannabis was made legal in the Golden State in 2016, most growers, retailers and manufacturers have been unable to transition from provisional licenses to permanent ones, which need to be renewed on an annual basis.</p>\n<p>This is due to the high cost of auditing operations to comply with environmental regulations, according toa report by the LA Times.</p>\n<p>Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said the money is “essential in supporting a well-regulated, equitable, and sustainable cannabis market.”</p>\n<p>Cannabis businesses would be able to use the money, which will be provided in the form of grants, to hire professionals that can help them complete the environmental studies needed to transition their provisional licenses to permanent ones.</p>\n<p>“This grant program will certainly ease the burden placed on legal companies and allow regulators to work through the backlog of licenses at a faster pace,\" Matt Hawkins, managing partner of <b>Entourage Effect Capital</b> and chairman of the board at <b>Harborside</b>(CSE:HBOR) told Benzinga.</p>\n<p>However, some in the California industry say the funding is not nearly enough to solve the systemic issue it’s meant to address: the state's lengthy bottleneck in getting annual business permits approved.</p>\n<p>Jerred Kiloh, president of L.A.-based <b>United</b> <b>Cannabis Business Association</b>, said he’d prefer to see the Newsom administration focus on reforming the licensing process itself rather than throwing money at an existing problem, reported<i>MJBizDaily</i>.</p>\n<p>Kiloh noted that because the $100 million is going only to cities and counties that have already approved legal cannabis programs, it won’t incentivize local governments that have banned marijuana businesses to change their stance.</p>\n<p>The funding will be assigned initially to 17 eligible cities and counties, with LA receiving 22% of the amount.</p>\n<p>Governor Newsom is pushing for a six-month extension of provisional licenses, from January to June 2022, which has yet to receive approval.</p>\n<p>Harborside's Hawkins said industry stakeholders also support another potentially consequential bill that would incentivize local jurisdictions that currently prohibit regulated businesses to approve licenses.</p>\n<p>\"Both of these policies would create a framework that tangibly supports plant-touching operations,” Hawkins said.</p>\n<p>Meanwhile, California remains the largest cannabis industry in the world, with nearly $3 billion in sales in 2019 alone.</p>","source":"lsy1606299360108","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Gavin Newsom, was approved by the California Legislature on Monday and aims to help legal cannabis operators acquire permanent licenses.\nAccording to Newsom’s office, about 82% of the state’s legal operators still hold provisional licenses as of April 2021. These provisional licenses are due on Jan. 1, 2022.\nWhile adult-use cannabis was made legal in the Golden State in 2016, most growers, retailers and manufacturers have been unable to transition from provisional licenses to permanent ones, which need to be renewed on an annual basis.\nThis is due to the high cost of auditing operations to comply with environmental regulations, according toa report by the LA Times.\nLos Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said the money is “essential in supporting a well-regulated, equitable, and sustainable cannabis market.”\nCannabis businesses would be able to use the money, which will be provided in the form of grants, to hire professionals that can help them complete the environmental studies needed to transition their provisional licenses to permanent ones.\n“This grant program will certainly ease the burden placed on legal companies and allow regulators to work through the backlog of licenses at a faster pace,\" Matt Hawkins, managing partner of Entourage Effect Capital and chairman of the board at Harborside(CSE:HBOR) told Benzinga.\nHowever, some in the California industry say the funding is not nearly enough to solve the systemic issue it’s meant to address: the state's lengthy bottleneck in getting annual business permits approved.\nJerred Kiloh, president of L.A.-based United Cannabis Business Association, said he’d prefer to see the Newsom administration focus on reforming the licensing process itself rather than throwing money at an existing problem, reportedMJBizDaily.\nKiloh noted that because the $100 million is going only to cities and counties that have already approved legal cannabis programs, it won’t incentivize local governments that have banned marijuana businesses to change their stance.\nThe funding will be assigned initially to 17 eligible cities and counties, with LA receiving 22% of the amount.\nGovernor Newsom is pushing for a six-month extension of provisional licenses, from January to June 2022, which has yet to receive approval.\nHarborside's Hawkins said industry stakeholders also support another potentially consequential bill that would incentivize local jurisdictions that currently prohibit regulated businesses to approve licenses.\n\"Both of these policies would create a framework that tangibly supports plant-touching operations,” Hawkins said.\nMeanwhile, California remains the largest cannabis industry in the world, with nearly $3 billion in sales in 2019 alone.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":188,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":169093944,"gmtCreate":1623808280288,"gmtModify":1634027818930,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like I learned a long time ago that you never short a dull market,” the “Mad Money” host said.\n“I want you to find relatively inexpensive stocks of good companies and then you can buy them on the cheap because of this genuine Wall Street gibberish that drives down some stocks unfairly,” he said.\n\nAfter stocks muscled their way slightly higher on Friday, CNBC’s Jim Cramer advised investors not to underestimate a market that’s putting up small gains.\nTheS&P 500crawled 0.19% higher to 4,247.44, a record close.\n“Some would say it’s the calm before the storm ... I learned a long time ago that you never short a dull market,” the “Mad Money” host said. “It’s good news that we’re being lulled to record highs and the market keeps shrugging off negatives, including yesterday’s scorching hot inflation numbers.”\nElsewhere, theDow Jones Industrial Indexinched up 0.04% to 34,479.60. TheNasdaq Compositeincreased 0.35% to settle at 14,069.42.\nIn the week ahead, Wall Street will turn its attentions to producer price index data on Tuesday and a readout from the Federal Reserve’s meeting on Wednesday. The producer price index, which measures how much companies pay producers for goods, could also be hot, Cramer said.\nEither way, investors may be able to find opportunities in the market, he said.\n“I want you to find relatively inexpensive stocks of good companies, and then you can buy them on the cheap because of this genuine Wall Street gibberish that drives down some stocks unfairly,” he said. “Whether they’re value or growth names makes no difference to me or to Cramerica.”\nCramer gave viewers a preview of the upcoming corporate earnings reports he has circled on his calendar. Projections for revenue and earnings per share are based on FactSet estimates:\nTuesday: Oracle\nOracle\n\nQ4 2021 earnings release: after market; conference call: 5 p.m.\nProjected EPS: $1.31\nProjected revenue: $11.02 billion\n\n“This boring, old-school enterprise software company has seen its stock surge 28% year-to-date, thanks to a remarkable acceleration in its core businesses,” Cramer said. “I bet it reports a fine quarter.”\nWednesday: Lennar\nLennar\n\nQ2 2021 earnings release: after market; conference call: Thursday, 10:30 a.m.\nProjected EPS: $2.37\nProjected revenue: $6.10 billion\n\n“Stuart Miller, the former CEO and current executive chairman, likes to give you the state of the state on housing on that conference call,” he said. “We know there’s been an immense amount of inflation in the raw materials that go into a house, although lumber’s come down. But the final cost barely creeps up and that’s thanks to the ingenuity of these excellent builders.”\nThursday: Kroger, Jabil, Adobe\nKroger\n\nQ1 2021 earnings release: before market; conference call: 10 a.m.\nProjected EPS: 98 cents\nProjected revenue: $39.56 billion\n\n“Kroger’s stock has become a standout performer, and that’s because it’s a major beneficiary from inflation,” Cramer said. “I actually do expect a terrific number from Kroger, not many people are thinking that.”\nJabil\n\nQ3 2021 earnings release: before market; conference call: 8:30 a.m.\nProjected EPS: $1.04\nProjected revenue: $6.95 billion\n\n“Jabil does a lot of business with Apple, and Wall Street loves playing silly guessing games by trying to extrapolate from Jabil’s results to Apple’s,” he said. “I wish they’d just focus on Jabil itself, which has been an amazing stock, up 36% for the year. Another unsung stock of an unsung company in an unsung bull market.”\nAdobe\n\nQ2 2021 earnings release: after market; conference call: 5 p.m.\nProjected EPS: $2.81\nProjected revenue: $3.73 billion\n\n“Lately [this] stock’s been meandering and that has usually been the best time to buy it,” the host said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":289,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":181275811,"gmtCreate":1623399461633,"gmtModify":1634033751649,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like and reply me guys. Those won't be available until the fall, according to the fine print on the site.\nThe Model S Plaid interior also includes a steering yoke rather than a traditional steering wheel, a 17-inch center touchscreen display and separate 8-inch display in the rear for passengers' entertainment, and processing power the company says is on par with modern gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5.\n2021 Tesla Model S Plaid interiorTesla.com\nFans expected Model S Plaid deliveriesto begin early this year after Musk said the company had already embarked on production in January on a Tesla earnings call. Then, Tesla reported that Model S (and Model X) productiondropped to zeroin its first-quarter vehicle deliveries and production update.\nBefore Thursday's heavily promoted delivery event, originally slated for June 3, Musk said on Twitter that Tesla alsocanceled the Model S Plaid plusvariant which would have cost drivers around $150,000 and promised a tantalizing battery range of around 520 miles.\nMusk said, in a pair of tweets hyping Model S Plaid before the deliveries kickoff: \"Plaid+ is canceled. No need, as Plaid is just so good,\" adding \"0 to 60mph in under 2 secs. Quickest production car ever made of any kind. Has to be felt to be believed.\"\nOn Thursday, the price of the Model S Plaid had increased by $10,000 to $129,990 — which compares with $79,990 for a long-range 2021 Model S, a dual-motor, all wheel drive version of the electric sedan boasting a battery range of 412 miles.\nThe Plaid moniker for Tesla's high performance version of the Model S is a continuation of the company's tribute to \"Spaceballs\" — the 1980s Star Wars spoof co-written, produced and directed by Mel Brooks. In \"Spaceballs,\" spacecraft accelerate from light- to ridiculous- then ludicrous-speed and finally into \"plaid.\" Earlier versions of Tesla vehicles featured Ludicrous mode, which Tesla first announced in July of 2015.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":122,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":181642725,"gmtCreate":1623392994267,"gmtModify":1634033815396,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like and comment too. Buzzwords floated around, like NFT, BTD, blockchain, token. There was a frenzied energy. And there was heat - a humid, sticky South Florida heat; the kind all the Californians and New Yorkers who moved to Miami during the pandemic's winter doldrums were warned about. The kind generated by thousands upon thousands of people gathering to worship at the altar of cryptocurrencies.Such was the vibe at Bitcoin 2021, an occasional gathering of digital currency enthusiasts run by a magazine named after the cryptocurrency. Last year's event had been postponed. But Friday and Saturday, at least 12,000 people descended on Miami to make up for lost time, flocking to the largest Bitcoin conference in the world and the first major in-person business conference since the pandemic began. The exuberance of being in person, indoors, in a crowd for the first time in more than a year was electric. Everyone hugged, no one masked. The money zipped between digital wallets. The conference swag included neon fanny packs, festival bracelets and a Lamborghini car. The jargon - stablecoin, peer-to-peer, private key - flowed. So did the liquor. For a few days, the city was a raging fireball of finance, technology and joyful anarchy, of unfathomable wealth and desperate striving. Bitcoin 2021 heralded the receding of the pandemic, with comfortingly familiar and mundane elements of a business conference: the branded plastic sunglasses, brightly colored sponsor booths, lanyards and panels. Some attendees wore business casual. Others looked ready for a music festival. One donned a furry rave bikini. It was another sign that the often absurd world of digital currencies was inching its way toward mainstream acceptance, or at least mainstream curiosity. Since late last year, Bitcoin has been on a wild ride, setting price records. Even a dramatic plunge from a high of US$64,000 (S$84,700) in April to US$36,000 now did not dampen spirits. They're BTD - buying the dip. Wall Street bankers, institutional investors all came to Miami.'You will be a millionaire'There was a reason we were in Miami and not New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles. The city has gone full crypto.Bitcoin ATMs sprinkled the Wynwood neighborhood. A cryptocurrency exchange called FTX recently bought naming rights to the Miami Heat's arena. Miami's mayor, Francis Suarez, announced this year that the city would accept tax payments in cryptocurrency, let its employees collect salaries with it and explore holding some on its balance sheet. (The logistics of these announcements were still being studied.)Shortly after 9am on Friday, as the crowd streamed into the air-conditioned warehouse, a conference organizer introduced Mr Suarez as \"probably the most irresponsible politician in all of America, the mayor of the mecca of freedom.\"Mr Suarez set a defiant tone. \"I'm here to tell all the haters and all the doubters that this is not a moment, this is a movement,\" he said. The crowd erupted in whistles and cheers.Moishe Mana, a real estate mogul who owned the venue, walked around the crowded concourse of booths and crypto art with a small entourage. After working for years to bring companies, people and innovation to the city, he was basking in Miami's ascent.New York and San Francisco's appeal was waning, Mr Mana said. \"Every city has its own golden age,\" he added. \"Nothing stays forever.\"Mr Mana was not a big crypto guy, per se, but he recognized its power, comparing the devotion of its followers to a religion. \"The more you fight religion, the more holy it becomes and the stronger the movement becomes,\" he said.Onstage, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, entrepreneurs and cryptocurrency billionaires, preached to the choir. Cameron Winklevoss wore a T-shirt with a picture of the Federal Reserve building captioned \"Rage Against the Machine,\" a reference to how cryptocurrency was not controlled by a central government or bank.Crypto entrepreneur Cameron Winklevoss wore a T-shirt with a picture of the Federal Reserve building captioned \"Rage Against the Machine\". PHOTO: NYTIMES\"If you own a Bitcoin today, you will be a millionaire in the future. For sure. Congratulations,\" he said.Later, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and payments company Square, offered his own endorsement. \"If I were not at Square or Twitter, I would be working on Bitcoin,\" he said.On Saturday, the conference played a video of Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador, announcing a bill to make Bitcoin legal tender in the country. The audience leapt to a roaring standing ovation.A day earlier and a few blocks away, in a warehouse coworking space called LAB Miami, about 50 people gathered to talk about the digital art and collectibles known as NFTs, or nonfungible tokens, which have exploded in popularity this year.Satoshi is BlackDown the road at the historic Lyric Theater, a crowd sipped wine at a \"Wine, Women and Crypto\" gathering. Najah Roberts, a cryptocurrency executive, and Hill Harper, the actor who created an app called The Black Wall Street, explained that investing in cryptocurrency was a key step toward financial freedom and wealth for the Black community.\"They can't colonize Bitcoin,\" said Mr Hill, who wore a T-shirt referencing the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, which said \"Satoshi is Black.\"Only 14 per cent of American adults have purchased cryptocurrency, according to a survey by The Ascent, a financial services ratings site. Of those who haven't, 20 per cent said they planned to this year. One attendee, Shownda Pagan, a nonprofit executive, said she bought Bitcoin and another cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, over a year ago after her nephew and son encouraged her to do so. She also bought stock in AMC, the beleaguered movie theater chain, which has skyrocketed and become a \"meme stock,\" egged on by traders on social media. She said she was blown away by the fast rise of her holdings.\"Now I'm in love with this stuff,\" she said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":85,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":181642725,"gmtCreate":1623392994267,"gmtModify":1634033815396,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like and comment too. I learned a long time ago that you never short a dull market,” the “Mad Money” host said.\n“I want you to find relatively inexpensive stocks of good companies and then you can buy them on the cheap because of this genuine Wall Street gibberish that drives down some stocks unfairly,” he said.\n\nAfter stocks muscled their way slightly higher on Friday, CNBC’s Jim Cramer advised investors not to underestimate a market that’s putting up small gains.\nTheS&P 500crawled 0.19% higher to 4,247.44, a record close.\n“Some would say it’s the calm before the storm ... Another unsung stock of an unsung company in an unsung bull market.”\nAdobe\n\nQ2 2021 earnings release: after market; conference call: 5 p.m.\nProjected EPS: $2.81\nProjected revenue: $3.73 billion\n\n“Lately [this] stock’s been meandering and that has usually been the best time to buy it,” the host said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":289,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":167403328,"gmtCreate":1624280400164,"gmtModify":1634008502578,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Better buy more","listText":"Better buy more","text":"Better buy more","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/167403328","repostId":"1154249454","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":388,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":160752488,"gmtCreate":1623807334144,"gmtModify":1634027849806,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Where is d trump","listText":"Where is d trump","text":"Where is d trump","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/160752488","repostId":"2143680537","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2143680537","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1623797252,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2143680537?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-16 06:47","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street ends down as data spooks investors awaiting Fed report","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2143680537","media":"Reuters","summary":"Wall Street’s main indices closed lower on Tuesday as data showing stronger inflation and weaker U.S. retail sales in May spooked already-jittery investors awaiting the results of the Federal Reserve’s latest policy meeting.Assurance from the Fed that rising prices are transitory and falling U.S. Treasury yields have helped ease some concerns over inflation and supported U.S. stocks in recent weeks. All eyes are now on the central bank’s statement at the end of its two-day policy meeting on Wednesday.\nData showed an acceleration in producer prices last month as supply chains struggled to meet demand unleashed by the reopening of the economy. A separate report showed U.S. retail sales dropped more than expected in May.\n“There was a bit of a reaction to the economic data we got, which, for the most part, shows that the economy is starting to wean itself off stimulus, the recovery is slowing down a little, and inflation is continuing to grow,” said Ed Moya, senior market analyst for the Americas at OANDA.\n“We’re seeing some very modest weakness, and it’ll be choppy leading up to the Fed decision. Right now, the Fed is probably in a position to show they are thinking about tapering, but they’re still a long way from actually doing it.”\nThe Fed is likely to announce in August or September a strategy for reducing its massive bond buying program, but will not start cutting monthly purchases until early next year, a Reuters poll of economists found.\nThe benchmark S&P 500, the blue-chip Dow Jones and the tech-focused Nasdaq have risen 13%, 12.1% and 9.2% respectively so far this year, largely driven by optimism about an economic reopening.\nHowever, the S&P 500 has been broadly stuck within a range, despite recording its 29th record-high finish of 2021 on Monday, versus 33 for all of last year.\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 94.42 points, or 0.27%, to 34,299.33, the S&P 500 lost 8.56 points, or 0.20%, to 4,246.59 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 101.29 points, or 0.71%, to 14,072.86.\nSeven of the 11 major S&P sectors slipped. Among them was communication services, which ended 0.5% lower, having hit a record intraday high earlier in the session.\nThe largest gainer was the energy index, which rose 2.1% on oil prices hitting multi-year highs on a positive demand outlook. Exxon Mobil Corp had its best day since Mar. 5, jumping 3.6%. Acumen Diagnostics is mainly involved in the manufacture, sale and distribution of diagnostic test kits for Covid-19.\n\"Q&M continues to generate stable and resilient earnings, and we foresee no material changes in or threats to its market share in the private dental space in the medium term,\" said Mr Ng.\n\"Overall, Singapore continues to be the main revenue driver as a significant proportion of Q&M's sales are generated by the local segment. With Q&M's plans on expanding its network, we expect resilience in future years via gaining greater market share,\" he added.\nShares Raffles Medical was trading $0.01 or 0.9 per cent higher at $1.15 as at 11.12am on Friday, while Q&M was up by one cent or 1.5 per cent at 68.5 cents.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":285,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":125357319,"gmtCreate":1624660400931,"gmtModify":1633950061238,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow. In \"Spaceballs,\" spacecraft accelerate from light- to ridiculous- then ludicrous-speed and finally into \"plaid.\" Earlier versions of Tesla vehicles featured Ludicrous mode, which Tesla first announced in July of 2015.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":122,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":183170737,"gmtCreate":1623317651929,"gmtModify":1634034644207,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Singapore stocks for steady income from dividends, us for capital gains","listText":"Singapore stocks for steady income from dividends, us for capital gains","text":"Singapore stocks for steady income from dividends, us for capital gains","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/183170737","repostId":"1151240906","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":213,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163870042,"gmtCreate":1623878692486,"gmtModify":1634026686025,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Look at all the cannabis stock now. These provisional licenses are due on Jan. 1, 2022.\nWhile adult-use cannabis was made legal in the Golden State in 2016, most growers, retailers and manufacturers have been unable to transition from provisional licenses to permanent ones, which need to be renewed on an annual basis.\nThis is due to the high cost of auditing operations to comply with environmental regulations, according toa report by the LA Times.\nLos Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said the money is “essential in supporting a well-regulated, equitable, and sustainable cannabis market.”\nCannabis businesses would be able to use the money, which will be provided in the form of grants, to hire professionals that can help them complete the environmental studies needed to transition their provisional licenses to permanent ones.\n“This grant program will certainly ease the burden placed on legal companies and allow regulators to work through the backlog of licenses at a faster pace,\" Matt Hawkins, managing partner of Entourage Effect Capital and chairman of the board at Harborside(CSE:HBOR) told Benzinga.\nHowever, some in the California industry say the funding is not nearly enough to solve the systemic issue it’s meant to address: the state's lengthy bottleneck in getting annual business permits approved.\nJerred Kiloh, president of L.A.-based United Cannabis Business Association, said he’d prefer to see the Newsom administration focus on reforming the licensing process itself rather than throwing money at an existing problem, reportedMJBizDaily.\nKiloh noted that because the $100 million is going only to cities and counties that have already approved legal cannabis programs, it won’t incentivize local governments that have banned marijuana businesses to change their stance.\nThe funding will be assigned initially to 17 eligible cities and counties, with LA receiving 22% of the amount.\nGovernor Newsom is pushing for a six-month extension of provisional licenses, from January to June 2022, which has yet to receive approval.\nHarborside's Hawkins said industry stakeholders also support another potentially consequential bill that would incentivize local jurisdictions that currently prohibit regulated businesses to approve licenses.\n\"Both of these policies would create a framework that tangibly supports plant-touching operations,” Hawkins said.\nMeanwhile, California remains the largest cannabis industry in the world, with nearly $3 billion in sales in 2019 alone.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":188,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":160750414,"gmtCreate":1623807170638,"gmtModify":1631888702601,"author":{"id":"3576190234401083","authorId":"3576190234401083","name":"Azagathoth","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/052c3d63b5fe557a63e699b069dba865","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576190234401083","authorIdStr":"3576190234401083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/C8R.SI\">$JIUTIAN CHEMICAL GROUP LIMITED(C8R.SI)$</a>Very disappointing to see the low growth bearish small cap stocks in Singapore but looking forward to see this company dishing out pretty decent dividends soon.
