U.S. stocks look richly valued after a strong start to 2021, American investors may be better served by looking northward for opportunities, according to Bank of America.\nThe bank’s chief U.S. equity strategist told clients on Tuesday that the Canadian equity benchmark trades at a significant discount to the S&P 500 and, in her opinion, is due for a catch-up.\nAs of Tuesday’s close, the S&P/TSX Composite index, Canada’s main stock benchmark, was up more than 15% for the year.\nDespite that gain, the TSX index trades at just 17 times forward earnings compared to the S&P 500′s 21.4 times. By that gauge, the S&P 500 is trading at its richest valuation since the tech bubble of the late 1990s and early 2000s, according to Bank of America strategist Savita Subramanian.\n“We believe the discount is overdone, especially when the composition of the TSX is much better positioned to benefit from the global economic recovery, which we believe is intact,” she wrote.\n“We believe international stocks may be a better way to participate in the cyclical upswing, and Canada looks particularly attractive given its heavy exposure to cyclicals, commodities, and smaller caps, as well as its exposure to the U.S. economy that is leading the recovery,” Subramanian added.\nBank of America likes the TSX index for its greater exposure to energy and materials versus the S&P 500. Commodity sectors represent over 25% of the index compared to less than 6% of the S&P 500.\nThat bodes well for those with exposure to Canadian equities as the global recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic accelerates outside of the U.S. and fosters demand for the energy and agricultural commodities exported by Ottawa.\n“Follow the commodity cycle,” Subramanian advised her clients. “Despite a 46% surge in commodity prices [year over year], the TSX has underperformed the S&P 500 by more than 10 percentage points over the past 12 months.”\nThe implication is that, with Canada soon expected to see a sharp rise in its number of vaccinated residents, the gap between the TSX index and the S&P 500 could narrow.\nSome popular Canadian funds include theiShares MSCI Canada ETFand theBMO Low Volatility Canadian Equity ETF, up 21.8% and 15.2%, respectively, in 2021.\nDespite the overarching optimism on the country’s stocks, Subramanian noted that a slower-than-expected economic recovery in the U.S. or Canada would challenge her thesis.\nSo, too, could China’s recent announcement tomanage commodity inflationif Beijing continues to impose a cap on how much its traders are permitted to pay for various materials.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":207,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":129578561,"gmtCreate":1624379153953,"gmtModify":1634006960527,"author":{"id":"3575459040838083","authorId":"3575459040838083","name":"JINGYI","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575459040838083","authorIdStr":"3575459040838083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/129578561","repostId":"1163964594","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1163964594","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624367020,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1163964594?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-22 21:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"McDonald’s will launch its loyalty program nationwide in July","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1163964594","media":"cnbc","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nMcDonald’s first-ever U.S. loyalty program will launch nationwide on July 8.\nFast-food c","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nMcDonald’s first-ever U.S. loyalty program will launch nationwide on July 8.\nFast-food chains are looking to rewards programs to hold onto the digital customers the companies gained during...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; While it has successful loyalty programs in other countries like France, this marks the first nationwide launch in the U.S.\nThe chain’s U.S. president, Joe Erlinger, told analysts in April that the company sawdigital sales of almost $1.5 billion during its first quarter, including orders on its digital kiosks, mobile app and delivery platforms. But the loyalty program could raise that number even higher.\nThe program allows customers to earn 100 points for every dollar that they spend. They can work toward 16 rewards options, split up into four different tiers. The easiest items, like hash browns or a cheeseburger, cost just 1,500 points to redeem. A Happy Meal or Big Mac will set members back 6,000 points.\nTo encourage customers to join the loyalty program, they’ll earn 1,500 points after their first order as a rewards member.\nMcDonald’s is hoping the program will also help add a personal touch to the customer experience. But with the stock price, it's all about \"what have you done for me lately?\" Investors were disappointed with a \"miss\" on the Disney+ subscriber numbers from the most recent quarter, and the stock pulled back a bit after earnings. On this Motley Fool Live episode recorded on May 26, Motley Fool contributors Toby Bordelon and Brian Withers discuss the results from its recent quarter and whether the stock has \"priced in\" the reopening surge already.
\n
Toby Bordelon: Let's jump into the next stock here, and lets talk about Disney, what not to love? We got theme parks reopening. What's going on. We have California theme parks are open now. They opened at the end of April. They are heading to full capacity. June 1st of 4th, one of those. I can't remember the exact date, but next week or the week after, they will be at full capacity. This is fantastic.
\n
If you remember to pre-pandemic if you followed Disney, their biggest revenue segment was the theme parks, which also includes the cruise lines. But to have those parks getting back to full capacity is a very good thing. People are coming back to theaters. I saw a recent survey from a movie theater chain or Fandango I believe it was. The percentages are really high in terms of people who are going to theaters who want to go back, who are going to go see multiple movies at summer or plan to. That's a really good sign. Marvel's Phase Four is about to kick off in the theaters. We got a couple of new shows on Disney+ Loki starting up, beginning in June.
\n
But let's talk about one thing. Let's highlight one thing here. The recent earnings report with a little bit disappointing to some investors because of those Disney+ numbers. What were those numbers? They came in at 104 million subscribers, and were expecting 109 million, and so were quibbling at about a five percent difference. When if you look at what's happened in the past year-and-a-half, Disney+ has gone from 0-104 million in about 17 months. That's amazing and I don't want to, I think if you are quibbling over five million, you're missing the point here. They'll outperform Netflix in the quarter in terms of additional subscribers. ESPN+ seems to be growing, which is strange when we think about because that's the one that probably has the least amount of original content. They are doing well, average revenue per user is growing at that at ESPN+ turn, churn at Disney+ is not a problem. They seem to be doing quite well there. I think this company is doing fine. I don't think anyone should worry about this, and future looks good for them.
\n
Brian Withers: That's an exciting update. Toby, I love to see the parks coming back open again. But the market has already priced a lot of this reopening already into the stock. I looked at the stock prices from March of 2020, mid-March when the coronavirus really came in and started to shut things down. Disney [stock] has doubled since then. Do you think we could see Disney shares priced lower a year from now?
\n
Toby Bordelon: It's certainly possible. Like you said, there is a lot of priced in right now. But I think we may be surprised when we get to the end of this year about the rebound surge of the theme parks and the movie theaters. I'm not sure that even with pricing in this reopening trade as it were, that we're really capturing the fullness of what Disney can do.
\n
Look at those theme parks. We got the Star Wars hotel that's opening up, which is a multi-day experience that you stay in this hotel and you don't leave. The new Avengers Campus at Disneyland, I think that's opening up beginning of June as well. But with the stock price, it's all about \"what have you done for me lately?\" Investors were disappointed with a \"miss\" on the Disney+ subscriber numbers from the most recent quarter, and the stock pulled back a bit after earnings. On this Motley Fool Live episode recorded on May 26, Motley Fool contributors Toby Bordelon and Brian Withers discuss the results from its recent quarter and whether the stock has \"priced in\" the reopening surge already.\nToby Bordelon: Let's jump into the next stock here, and lets talk about Disney, what not to love? We got theme parks reopening. What's going on. We have California theme parks are open now. They opened at the end of April. They are heading to full capacity. June 1st of 4th, one of those. I can't remember the exact date, but next week or the week after, they will be at full capacity. This is fantastic.\nIf you remember to pre-pandemic if you followed Disney, their biggest revenue segment was the theme parks, which also includes the cruise lines. We got a couple of new shows on Disney+ Loki starting up, beginning in June.\nBut let's talk about one thing. I don't think anyone should worry about this, and future looks good for them.\nBrian Withers: That's an exciting update. Toby, I love to see the parks coming back open again. But the market has already priced a lot of this reopening already into the stock. I looked at the stock prices from March of 2020, mid-March when the coronavirus really came in and started to shut things down. Disney [stock] has doubled since then. Do you think we could see Disney shares priced lower a year from now?\nToby Bordelon: It's certainly possible. Like you said, there is a lot of priced in right now. But I think we may be surprised when we get to the end of this year about the rebound surge of the theme parks and the movie theaters. I'm not sure that even with pricing in this reopening trade as it were, that we're really capturing the fullness of what Disney can do.\nLook at those theme parks. We got the Star Wars hotel that's opening up, which is a multi-day experience that you stay in this hotel and you don't leave. The new Avengers Campus at Disneyland, I think that's opening up beginning of June as well. There is a lot going on to both bringing people back and to potentially bring in a new segment of people who might not have been big fans of Disneyland, Disney World parks before with The Avengers and Star Wars stuff. This is a major entertainment juggernaut and that's not going to change anytime soon. Maybe you see a little bit of drop-off in the stock price, but it's not something I would worry about really.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":335,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162342934,"gmtCreate":1624036833428,"gmtModify":1634023684248,"author":{"id":"3575459040838083","authorId":"3575459040838083","name":"JINGYI","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575459040838083","authorIdStr":"3575459040838083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/162342934","repostId":"2144172072","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":448,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":168961171,"gmtCreate":1623947069593,"gmtModify":1634025391261,"author":{"id":"3575459040838083","authorId":"3575459040838083","name":"JINGYI","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575459040838083","authorIdStr":"3575459040838083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/168961171","repostId":"1100748723","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":285,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163163973,"gmtCreate":1623862967992,"gmtModify":1634026791020,"author":{"id":"3575459040838083","authorId":"3575459040838083","name":"JINGYI","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575459040838083","authorIdStr":"3575459040838083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"回复 - Fannie Mae on Wednesday cut its forecast for home sales in the second and third quarters of 2021, blaming a lack of listings and a slowing pace of new construction.\nThe No. 1 U.S. mortgage financing agency said in a press release that its Economic and Strategic Research Group sees home sales at 6.6 million and 6.5 million in the second and third quarters, respectively.\nThat is down from its previous forecast of 6.9 million and 6.7 million home sales respectively in the periods.\nSupply-side factors are limiting construction and mortgage origination, Fannie Mae said.\nU.S. homebuilder confidence in the market for single family homes fell in June to its lowest level since August 2020, dented by higher housing costs and shortages in key materials such as lumber, the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market index showed on Tuesday.\n\"Demographic factors remain favorable for a strong housing market and many of the supply constraints that homebuilders face are likely to persist in the near term, so this upward pricing pressure is not likely to be as transitory as many of the current inflation drivers,” Doug Duncan, Fannie Mae Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, said in the press release.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":109,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":121869982,"gmtCreate":1624458867746,"gmtModify":1634005810338,"author":{"id":"3575459040838083","authorId":"3575459040838083","name":"JINGYI","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575459040838083","authorIdStr":"3575459040838083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I The company offers a range of investment accounts, including ISAs, pensions and general investment accounts. Its rivals include the likes of Wealthsimple, Moneyfarm and Moneybox.\nJPMorgan CEOJamie Dimonsaid last year that he would be \"much more aggressive\" in searching for acquisitions to help the biggest U.S. bank by assets add capabilities. He may have been motivated by the deals that rivalMorgan Stanleyhas made in recent years – spending$20 billionto snap up E-Trade and Eaton Vance.\nDimon has also talked about girding JPMorgan against both fintech players likePayPaland Big Tech firms includingAlphabet.\nBy striking out a digital-first effort in the U.K., the bank can expand outside the U.S., where it has an extensive network of physical branches and leading positions across retail and institutional businesses. Those efforts could eventually be applied beyond the U.K., the bank has said previously.\n\"We are building Chase in the U.K. from scratch using the very latest technology and putting the customer's experience at the heart of our offering, principles that Nutmeg shares with us,\" Sanoke Viswanathan, CEO of international consumer at JPMorgan, said in the statement.\n\"We look forward to positioning their award winning products alongside our own, and continuing to support their innovative work in retail wealth management.\"\nThe deal comes months after the two companies announced apartnershipthat allowed the fintech firm to offer ETFs created with help from JPMorgan, the biggest U.S. bank by assets.\nThis isn't the first time JPMorgan has bought a fintech firm after initially partnering with it. In December, JPMorgansaid it was acquiring55ip, a Boston-based start-up that helps financial advisors automate the construction of tax-efficient portfolios.\nNutmeg CEO Neil Alexander said customers should \"expect the same level of transparency, convenience and service that helped make us a leading digital wealth manager in the U.K.\"\n\"Britain is home to an increasingly crowded retail banking market, with challengers like Revolut, Monzo and Starling gaining a following thanks to their digital-only checking accounts,\" he added.\nThe U.K.'s fintech market is thought to be one of the world's largest, attracting $4.1 billion in venture capital funding last year, according to industry body Innovate Finance.\nInstead of using investment technology already developed in the U.S., the bank opted instead to purchase the 10-year old start-up. That's because the U.K. and Europe have different regulatory requirements, the companies said. JPMorgan's U.S.-based automated investing service You Invest has garnered about$50 billionin assets, Dimon revealed this week.\nJPMorgan Securities acted as JPMorgan's financial advisor for the transaction, while Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer served as legal counsel. Nutmeg was advised by Arma Partners as financial advisor and Taylor Wessing as legal counsel.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":285,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163163973,"gmtCreate":1623862967992,"gmtModify":1634026791020,"author":{"id":"3575459040838083","authorId":"3575459040838083","name":"JINGYI","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575459040838083","authorIdStr":"3575459040838083"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"回复 @mintmochi:Anyone have T?//@mintmochi:Letter T https://www.itiger.com/activity/market/2021/7th-anniversary/*LNFTB7-index.html?lang=en_US&skin=1&edition=fundamental&invite=LNFTB7&cardShare=T&cardId=1623430005766e","listText":"回复 @mintmochi:Anyone have T?//@mintmochi:Letter T https://www.itiger.com/activity/market/2021/7th-anniversary/*LNFTB7-index.html?lang=en_US&skin=1&edition=fundamental&invite=LNFTB7&cardShare=T&cardId=1623430005766e","text":"回复 @mintmochi:Anyone have T?//@mintmochi:Letter T https://www.itiger.com/activity/market/2021/7th-anniversary/*LNFTB7-index.html?lang=en_US&skin=1&edition=fundamental&invite=LNFTB7&cardShare=T&cardId=1623430005766e","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/163163973","repostId":"114899451","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":114899451,"gmtCreate":1623063308869,"gmtModify":1631884627596,"author":{"id":"36984908995200","authorId":"36984908995200","name":"小虎活动","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9e396d03155923b283948d2dec9191f8","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"36984908995200","authorIdStr":"36984908995200"},"themes":[],"title":"【老虎7周年】集卡瓜分百万奖金","htmlText":"老虎7周年给大家发福利了,集齐TIGER五个字母即有机会瓜分百万奖金,你准备好了吗?
