How to determine entry price for REITs?

I am sure many of you want to know what is a good entry price of a stock (specifically REITs). You might hear some people say that this REIT is so undervalued that you should buy immediately whereas others might say can wait for it to drop a bit more before entering, and there will be someone else who say the same REIT is ridiculously overvalued that he/she is not touching it until it drops another 20%. So.. who is right? Who should you listen to? Or most important of all, how to decide for yourself if you should buy or not? In this post, I will attempt to give some clarity and hopefully you can get more conviction into the REITs you are buying. Disclaimer: I am a small time retail investor. I am not an expert in REITs or any valuation methods. All the methods I discussed in this post a

Demystifying Options Part 10

If you are not familiar with options, I would suggest reading my first 9 posts which can be found under my postings. From Part 10 onwards, I will be discussing multi-leg options. As of this posting, the Tiger app does not allow easy deployment of multi-leg options. This may change in the future. For now, I will be discussing the theory of how we can utilise multi-leg option strategies to turbo-charge your investment / trading and not show the step by step instructions of how to deploy multi-leg options orders on Tiger. What is multi-leg option order? A multi-leg option order is basically buying and/or selling multiple options contract simultaneously with one or more strike price and/or expiration date in a single order. There are many such option strategies (e.g straddle, strangle, sprea

It accelerates as the time to expiration draws closer since there's less time to realize a profit from the trade. Time Decay is an important component in the extrinsic value of an option. Why is Time Decay important? Time decay is important because it affects the option premium. If you are a buyer of an option, you want to pay as little premium as possible for the lon

You might have come across people mentioning that they are rolling options. If you google it, there are many definitions out there with many names to it. You can roll any option (BUY or SELL PUTs and CALLs). Rolling options is only applicable to options of the same stock. It is NOT considered rolling options if you open and close an option in Apple, then go to open another position in Microsoft. In simple terms, there are 3 moves you can make when rolling options: 1)

Lets watch and wait.. the feds have an outsized influence on the stock market.. if they go ahead with speeding up the taper and bring forward raising interest rates.. the market will dip further.. In any case.. the market dipping is caused by multiple factors.. Omicron.. Fed tapering.. end of year hedge fund rebalancing and taking profit.. investors selling to pay taxes etc.. HODL..

$Daiwa Hse Log Tr(DHLU.SI)$and $DigiCore Reit USD(DCRU.SI)$are two new REITs listed on SGX recently.. REITs are good dividend players because they are required to pay out most of their earnings to shareholders… And SG does not have tax for dividends.. so what you see is what you get.. But do your own due diligence.. some REITs might still be subjected to withholding tax if they are primarily listed and transacted in USD..

If you are not familiar with options, I would suggest reading my first 5 posts: Part 1 - Introduction to options Part 2 - Selling Put options Part 3 - Buying Put options Part 4 - Selling Call options Part 5 - Buying Call options If you have tried selling or buying options, you might encounter some common issues: Issue 1: Unable to find any buyer or seller willing to take up your option contract, so your transaction is pending for a long time. Issue 2: As a seller, your option mostly ended up ITM and getting exercised. Issue 3: As a buyer, your option mostly ended up OTM or ATM, and expiring worthless. I will try my best to provide some tips and rule of thumb based on my limited experience. I am not always right or have the best solution. Please feel free to correct me if I m
