The ARK Innovation ETF (NYSEMKT:ARKK) is down 38% off its all-time high and down 22% year to date.
\n
ARK and Wood invest in lots of high-growth tech stocks that have been battered this year, which is what's causing the fund's poor performance. Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN), Shopify (NYSE:SHOP), and UiPath (NYSE:PATH) are some of Cathie Wood's favorites, and all are between 20% and 50% off their all-time highs. However, the fact that millions of dollars of their stock are sitting in Wood's ETFs should be indicative of their long-term potential. These companies are trading at bargain prices today, so you might want to consider putting them on your watchlist.
\n
Coinbase: A way to invest in crypto
\n
Coinbase is ARK Invest's third-largest holding, clocking in at a market value of $1.25 billion. Shares of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange have sunk like a stone recently, falling 32% off its all-time highs. However, this isn't fully indicative of business performance.
\n
With over $255 billion in assets across 100 different countries and 72 million users, Coinbase has become a cornerstone of the crypto economy as one of the leading, most trusted cryptocurrency exchanges. The company takes a cut of every purchase of crypto on the platform, so the rise in popularity of cryptocurrency has resulted in impressive revenue success. The company's revenue increased by over 330% year over year in Q3. With this, the company has also achieved impressive profitability: Coinbase brought almost one-third of its revenue to the bottom line.
\n
While its reliance on cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) has led to amazing growth recently, it's really a double-edged sword. The company makes money only on purchases of crypto, so in large-scale crypto sell-offs, the company is left stranded. This leaves Coinbase largely vulnerable to the winds of the crypto markets.
\n
With the recent sell-off of crypto and Bitcoin, Coinbase has followed suit -- falling to a valuation of just 22 times earnings. Whether this is justified or not, Coinbase will likely mimic the crypto market, and its success largely depends on the widespread adoption of crypto. Therefore, if you think that cryptocurrencies will skyrocket over the next decade, Coinbase could be a smart investment.
\n
UiPath: An AI pureplay
\n
While not as large as Coinbase, ARK ETFs hold over $1 billion of UiPath stock -- making it the sixth-largest holding across all of Wood's funds. UiPath is disrupting the way companies operate and handle tedious, repetitive tasks by normalizing the use of artificial intelligence and bots. The company has the vision to deliver a fully automated enterprise so that workers can optimize their efficiency, and the way the company is doing this has attracted companies like AutoDesk (NASDAQ:ADSK) and NASA.
\n
While UiPath's product sounds like a pie-in-the-sky dream, the company is more than real. It has over 9,600 customers and $818 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). With such dominance, UiPath has been named a market leader in the robotic process automation (RPA) market in Gartner's Magic Quadrant. As the leader, it has gained the trust and confidence of companies that might be wary of bringing automation and robots into the workplace.
\n
UiPath has lots of potential to grow. The company sees a $30 billion addressable opportunity by 2024, which would be immense growth from its current $818 million in ARR. UiPath might get some pushback along the way from those wary of integrating robots into the workplace, but its robots can provide efficiency improvements. The company has saved its customers millions of hours and dollars without putting workers' jobs on the line. UiPath is meant to work alongside human employees, and it has been successful in doing so.
\n
Shares have fallen drastically since it came public earlier this year, and that has provided a valuation that an appealing valuation public at 60 times sales, but it now trades at 22 times sales. Cathie Wood has taken the opportunity to buy more shares this December, and you might want to consider doing the same.
\n
Shopify: The rising e-commerce pick
\n
Shopify is farther down at the 11th-largest ARK position, but still represents $950 million worth of shares -- and for good reason. The company has doubled its gross merchandise volume (GMV) over the past 16 months, reaching $400 billion in cumulative GMV on its merchants' platforms in Q3. This has been because of the company's relentless focus on its customers' growth and success. This is unrivaled by competitors like Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), which have often stifled SMBs by noticing their success and then offering and promoting a self-developed product that competes with them directly.
\n
The company recently announced a new feature that would make international sales easier for merchants. Shopify Markets would allow companies to streamline global expansion -- something many Shopify users might never have thought possible. The company also has plans to roll out additional features over the next few years, with one of my personal favorites being Shopify Fulfillment. With this, users could access the fulfillment network that Shopify is building out and let the company pack and ship orders for them.
\n
This focus on customer success is truly unique, which is why the company demands a very high premium. The company trades at roughly 40 times sales, which is the highest valuation out of these three stocks. However, I also believe that Shopify is the highest-quality stock on this list. While all three of these stocks are appealing, Shopify has proven itself the most, and the company's expansion efforts beyond SMB look very promising. While there is more risk that share prices could continue dropping, I think it is worth paying up for high-quality companies, and Shopify fits that bill. Today, we take a closer look at Moderna and Pfizer stocks.
\n
COVID-19 keeps haunting the markets. New variant Omicron has renewed fears worldwide about a new health and economic crisis, since little is still known about how this variant affects vaccinated and non-vaccinated people.
\n
The stock market sold off on Friday, November 26, after Omicron news hit the wire. The S&P 500 dropped 2% amid uncertainty. One of the few gainers was Moderna stock, which jumped 20% on Friday’s trading session, while Pfizer stock was up a more modest 2.5%.
\n
Figure 1: SPY, MRNA and PFE performance in the past 5-trading days.
\n
Between two of the main COVID-19 vaccine makers, we assess Moderna and Pfizer stocks and ask ourselves: which is a better buy as Omicron fear lingers?
\n
Wall Street is neutral on Moderna
\n
Moderna stock currently has a hold consensus among 13 analysts and an average price target of $298, which suggests 17% downside from current levels. Wall Street’s assessment suggests that the stock price may have moved ahead of fundamentals, as MRNA has gained more than 1,200% since the COVID-19 pandemic started.
\n
The most recent report on Moderna stock came from Piper Sandler’s Edward Tenthoff, who reiterated his buy recommendation and forecasted a $348 price target on the back of Omicron news. The analyst sees the company prepared for the emergence of new variants and \"ideally suited to rapidly swap in new versions of the Spike antigen\" to make new COVID-19 vaccines.
\n
Morgan Stanley’s Matthew Harrison reiterated his neutral rating on MRNA a week ago with a $313 price target. The analyst mentioned that the announcement of Moderna’s flu vaccine data before year-end could be a positive catalyst for the stock. If the results are positive, the market could price in about $10 billion in long-term flu and COVID vaccine revenue, bumping shares by 10%.
\n
Pfizer: moderate buy, but experts are skeptical
\n
Wall Street is currently bullish on Pfizer, based on stock ratings. However, average price target consensus suggests that valuations could be stretched thin, following the November rally. Today, we take a closer look at Moderna and Pfizer stocks.\nCOVID-19 keeps haunting the markets. New variant Omicron has renewed fears worldwide about a new health and economic crisis, since little is still known about how this variant affects vaccinated and non-vaccinated people.\nThe stock market sold off on Friday, November 26, after Omicron news hit the wire. The S&P 500 dropped 2% amid uncertainty. One of the few gainers was Moderna stock, which jumped 20% on Friday’s trading session, while Pfizer stock was up a more modest 2.5%.\nFigure 1: SPY, MRNA and PFE performance in the past 5-trading days.\nBetween two of the main COVID-19 vaccine makers, we assess Moderna and Pfizer stocks and ask ourselves: which is a better buy as Omicron fear lingers?\nWall Street is neutral on Moderna\nModerna stock currently has a hold consensus among 13 analysts and an average price target of $298, which suggests 17% downside from current levels. Wall Street’s assessment suggests that the stock price may have moved ahead of fundamentals, as MRNA has gained more than 1,200% since the COVID-19 pandemic started.\nThe most recent report on Moderna stock came from Piper Sandler’s Edward Tenthoff, who reiterated his buy recommendation and forecasted a $348 price target on the back of Omicron news. The analyst sees the company prepared for the emergence of new variants and \"ideally suited to rapidly swap in new versions of the Spike antigen\" to make new COVID-19 vaccines.\nMorgan Stanley’s Matthew Harrison reiterated his neutral rating on MRNA a week ago with a $313 price target. The analyst mentioned that the announcement of Moderna’s flu vaccine data before year-end could be a positive catalyst for the stock. If the results are positive, the market could price in about $10 billion in long-term flu and COVID vaccine revenue, bumping shares by 10%.\nPfizer: moderate buy, but experts are skeptical\nWall Street is currently bullish on Pfizer, based on stock ratings. However, average price target consensus suggests that valuations could be stretched thin, following the November rally. PFE has a moderate buy recommendation based on 13 reports and a $50 average price target.\nJPMorgan‘s Chris Schott raised the firm's price target on Pfizer to $53 from $42 and kept a neutral rating. Covid remains a focal point of the Pfizer story, and Comirnaty and Paxlovid sales are \"set to clearly exceed expectations”. He said scientists were concerned because of its high number of mutations and the dramatic surge in infections the country had seen over the past four or five days.\n\"The pandemic and COVID variants remain one of the biggest risks to markets, and are likely to continue to inject volatility over the next year(s),\" wrote Keith Lerner, co-chief investment officer and chief market strategist at Truist Advisory Services, in a Friday note. \"It's hard to say at this point how lasting or impactful this latest variant will be for markets,\" the analyst wrote.\nThe omicron strain has been detected in Botswana and in Hong Kong in travelers who had visited South Africa.\n\"The one bull in the China shop that could truly derail the global recovery has always been a new strain of Covid-19 that swept the world and caused the reimposition of mass social retractions,\" said Jeffrey Halley, senior market analyst, at OANDA, in a note. \"All we know so far is the B. 1.1.529 is heavily mutated but markets are taking no chances.\"\n\"Just when you thought Covid was being controlled in a holiday shortened week,\" said Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA Research, in emailed comments.\nTrading around the Thanksgiving holiday is often associated with lower trading volumes as traders typically wait until Monday to return to work. There was no U.S. economic data on the calendar for Friday.\nAfter new cases stabilized at 200 a day, South Africa reported more than 1,200 on Wednesday and 2,465 on Thursday.\nThe U.K. government is banning flights from South Africa along with five other African nations, effective Friday.\n\"Predictably, energy, travel related and financials are the leading decliners and treasuries are rallying,\" wrote Jay Hatfield, CEO and portfolio manager at Infrastructure Capital Management, in emailed comments on Friday.\n\"It makes sense to have a market significant correction given the high level of uncertainty,\" the money manager wrote.\n\"At this stage very little is known,\" Deutsche Bank strategists, led by Jim Reid, told clients in a note. \"Mutations are often less severe so we shouldn't jump to conclusions but there is clearly a lot of concern about this one. Also South Africa is one of the world leaders in sequencing so we are more likely to see this sort of news originate from there than many countries. Suffice to say at this stage no one in markets will have any idea which way this will go.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2060,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":878139131,"gmtCreate":1637158121758,"gmtModify":1637158121843,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/878139131","repostId":"1155138088","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1155138088","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1637157914,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1155138088?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-17 22:05","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Abu Dhabi's Etihad yet to decide on some Airbus, Boeing orders, CEO says","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1155138088","media":"Reuters","summary":"Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways is yet to decide on future plans for around 50 Airbus A320neo and Boeing ","content":"
Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways is yet to decide on future plans for around 50 Airbus A320neo and Boeing 777X jets it previously ordered, its chief executive said on Wednesday, raising uncertainty over billions of dollars of aircraft sales.
\n
The state-owned carrier is restructuring under new management led by Tony Douglas after a failed bid last decade to compete with major Gulf carriers Emirates and Qatar Airways.
\n
Asked about Airbus A320neo and Boeing 777X ordered by previous management, Douglas said the airline was focused on sustainable growth and that a final decision had not been made.
\n
Uncertainty over deliveries and when the industry would recover from the pandemic had added to the complexity of making a decision on future fleet plans.
\n
\"The manufactures can't confirm when they are going to be delivered and you have a market that you don't know when its going to recover.\"
\n
The airline had three years to decide on what it would do with the A320neo order, while a decision on the 777X jets was \"way down the road\".
\n
Airbus declined to comment. This, however, seems to be changing as restrictions continue to get eased and the economy further reopens.
\n
Although the road to recovery is long and tough, the process seems to have started as millions of Americans appear a bit confident with the vaccination drive in full swing. Given this scenario, this summer could prove to be a great one for the U.S. airlines industry, with ticket sales and traffic already pickling up.
\n
Airlines on Road to Recovery
\n
With almost 50% of Americans above the age of 18 having received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, people are a lot more confident. IATA also predicts domestic travel to pick up as restrictions get eased further. IATA predicts domestic travel to recover by up to 96% of the pre-crisis levels by the second half of 2021, improving 48% year over year.\nThis has seen airline companies gearing up to handle more passengers in the coming weeks. North American passenger carriers have also resumed hiring, indicating that passenger traffic will increase in the near term.\nSouthwest Airlines Co LUV plans to reinstate 2,700 flight attendants who were sent on voluntary leave following the coronavirus outbreak when almost the entire fleet had to be grounded. Southwest has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.\nAmerican Airlines Group Inc. AAL, United Airlines Holdings Inc. UAL and Delta Air Lines Inc. DAL lost more than $1 billion each in the first quarter of this year but are confident about a rebound this year. American Airlines is hopeful about selling over 90% tickets mainly within the United States this summer, much like it did in 2019.\nSouthwest, which carried the maximum number of passengers than any other U.S. airline in 2019, returned to profit in the first quarter and is hopeful about traffic rebounding.\nMoreover, American Airlines and JetBlue Airways Corporation JBLU will be adding 24 new routes across eight cities this summer as part of their Northeast Alliance partnership. Last week, United Airlines said that it plans to resume flights to Croatia, Greece and Iceland this summer. Also, it has plans to expand its flights by 20% to the neighboring North American countries.\nWith Memorial Day around the corner, booking is likely to swell. Passengers are flowing in but airlines are still not out of the woods. However, the recovery has definitely started with both bookings and hiring on the rise.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":248,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":600992877,"gmtCreate":1638028311038,"gmtModify":1638028311131,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/600992877","repostId":"2186344334","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2186344334","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1637967996,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2186344334?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-27 07:06","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Dow plunges 905 points in Black Friday selloff, books worst day in over a year as WHO declares new COVID 'variant of concern'","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2186344334","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"Dow notches worst day for blue chips since Oct. 28, 2020, FactSet data show\nU.S. stock benchmarks su","content":"
Dow notches worst day for blue chips since Oct. 28, 2020, FactSet data show
\n
U.S. stock benchmarks suffered withering losses on Friday as stock and commodity markets plunged, after scientists detected a new COVID variant in South Africa that could be to blame for a recent sharp surge in cases, especially in Europe.
\n
U.S. markets were closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday and ended at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, three hours earlier than usual, and bond market trading ends at 2 p.m., an hour earlier than is typical.
\n
How are stock-index futures trading?
\n
On Wednesday, the Dow industrials fell 9.42 points to finish nearly flat at 35,804.38. Or at least, that’s what some AMC stockholders are hoping for.
\n
Source: Helen89 / Shutterstock.com
\n
Granted, AMChas reopenednearly all of its theaters in North America. Moreover, the company is gradually bringing moviegoers back to cinemas in Europe.
\n
On the other hand, AMC CEOAdam Aron has admitted that the company nearly filed for bankruptcy five times during the Covid-19 pandemic.
\n
As the old expression goes, we’re not out of the woods yet. The recovery process from a once-in-a-generation black-swan event won’t be easy. And that leads us to another old expression: let the buyer beware.
\n
A Closer Look at AMC Stock
\n
AMC Entertainment reported its first-quarter fiscal data on May 6, and we’ll certainly dive into the details of that.
\n
First, though, I’d like to put a microscope to the market’s reaction to the earnings report.
\n
The following trading day, AMC stock jumped 5.67%, closing at $9.51. That’s a pretty clear signal from the market that it felt good about the company’s financial results.
\n
At the same time, investors should know that the company’s trailing 12-month earnings per share is -$15.60. That’s not great, especially for a stock trading today around $10..
\n
With that in mind, let’s rewind a bit. Back in mid-January, AMC stock was trading at around $2.
\n
Then the Reddit crowd pounced on it, and the share price quickly rocketed to a 52-week high of $20.36.
\n
Sensible minds advised caution at that time, but their warnings often fell upon deaf ears. By mid-February, the stock price had declined to $5 and change.
\n
Since that time, AMC stock has wiggled and wobbled in both directions. Clearly, this isn’t a stock that anyone should pour his or her life savings into. Small position sizes should be the rule, not the exception.
\n
Sorry, Not a Winner
\n
If you only look at the market’s reaction to AMC’s first-quarter data release, you might assume that it was a winning quarter in terms of earnings.
\n
However, that’s not the case. As it turns out, AMC reported a first-quarter loss of $567.2 million, which translates to $1.42 a share. Analysts, on average, were expecting the company to lose $1.31 per share.
\n
So, that was a “miss” for AMC. The quarterly revenues were also a “miss” as the company reported $148.3 million, versus the analysts’ average forecast of $156.3 million in revenues.
\n
To use percentages instead of dollar amounts, AMC’s first-quarter revenuesfell by a whopping 84.3%on a year-over-year basis. Furthermore, the company sustained an 88.8% decline in attendance due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
\n
Quoting Churchill?
\n
Under normal circumstances, the foregoing stats should induce a share-price decline. But then, we’d be hard-pressed to find evidence that these are “normal” circumstances.
\n
Possibly, the market reacted positively to Aron’s statement during the conference call that “our market share in the United States has soared, increasing by about 25% compared to prepandemic levels.”
\n
That’s impressive, but for me, the revenues are the top line and the earnings are the bottom line.
\n
It’s fine to see butts in seats, but an investor should want to see dollars in hand. Again, recall the -$15.60 per share trailing 12-month earnings I cited earlier.
\n
I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t too pleased with the CEO quoting Winston Churchill during the conference call:
\n
\n “‘This is not the end. Or at least, that’s what some AMC stockholders are hoping for.\nSource: Helen89 / Shutterstock.com\nGranted, AMChas reopenednearly all of its theaters in North America. Moreover, the company is gradually bringing moviegoers back to cinemas in Europe.\nOn the other hand, AMC CEOAdam Aron has admitted that the company nearly filed for bankruptcy five times during the Covid-19 pandemic.\nAs the old expression goes, we’re not out of the woods yet. The recovery process from a once-in-a-generation black-swan event won’t be easy. And that leads us to another old expression: let the buyer beware.\nA Closer Look at AMC Stock\nAMC Entertainment reported its first-quarter fiscal data on May 6, and we’ll certainly dive into the details of that.\nFirst, though, I’d like to put a microscope to the market’s reaction to the earnings report.\nThe following trading day, AMC stock jumped 5.67%, closing at $9.51. That’s a pretty clear signal from the market that it felt good about the company’s financial results.\nAt the same time, investors should know that the company’s trailing 12-month earnings per share is -$15.60. That’s not great, especially for a stock trading today around $10..\nWith that in mind, let’s rewind a bit. Back in mid-January, AMC stock was trading at around $2.\nThen the Reddit crowd pounced on it, and the share price quickly rocketed to a 52-week high of $20.36.\nSensible minds advised caution at that time, but their warnings often fell upon deaf ears. By mid-February, the stock price had declined to $5 and change.\nSince that time, AMC stock has wiggled and wobbled in both directions. Clearly, this isn’t a stock that anyone should pour his or her life savings into. Small position sizes should be the rule, not the exception.\nSorry, Not a Winner\nIf you only look at the market’s reaction to AMC’s first-quarter data release, you might assume that it was a winning quarter in terms of earnings.\nHowever, that’s not the case. As it turns out, AMC reported a first-quarter loss of $567.2 million, which translates to $1.42 a share. Analysts, on average, were expecting the company to lose $1.31 per share.\nSo, that was a “miss” for AMC. The quarterly revenues were also a “miss” as the company reported $148.3 million, versus the analysts’ average forecast of $156.3 million in revenues.\nTo use percentages instead of dollar amounts, AMC’s first-quarter revenuesfell by a whopping 84.3%on a year-over-year basis. Furthermore, the company sustained an 88.8% decline in attendance due to the Covid-19 pandemic.\nQuoting Churchill?\nUnder normal circumstances, the foregoing stats should induce a share-price decline. But then, we’d be hard-pressed to find evidence that these are “normal” circumstances.\nPossibly, the market reacted positively to Aron’s statement during the conference call that “our market share in the United States has soared, increasing by about 25% compared to prepandemic levels.”\nThat’s impressive, but for me, the revenues are the top line and the earnings are the bottom line.\nIt’s fine to see butts in seats, but an investor should want to see dollars in hand. Again, recall the -$15.60 per share trailing 12-month earnings I cited earlier.\nI don’t know about you, but I wasn’t too pleased with the CEO quoting Winston Churchill during the conference call:\n\n “‘This is not the end. It not even the beginning of the end. But it is perhaps the end of the beginning.’… “Sir Winston won his titanic fight. I believe that AMC will win our war too.”\n\nI won’t dare say that Aron is arrogant, or that he’s starting to lose his mind. The pandemic has been hard on all of us, so I’ll give him a pass, this time.\nThe Bottom Line\nChurchill quote gaffe aside, I’m having trouble developing a solid bull thesis in favor of AMC stock.\nTherefore, my recommendation is to grab some popcorn, ease the seat back, and enjoy the presentation as a spectator.\nOn the date of publication, David Moadel did not have (either directly or indirectly) any positions in the securities mentioned in this article.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":164,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":329733193,"gmtCreate":1615278921912,"gmtModify":1703486637326,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmm","listText":"Hmm","text":"Hmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/329733193","repostId":"1183729076","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1183729076","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1615278840,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1183729076?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-09 16:34","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Airbnb, Lyft and Other Stocks Set to Benefit From a Consumer Spending Boom","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1183729076","media":"Barrons","summary":"The strongest consumer stock backdrop in decades may be around the corner and there are plenty of st","content":"
The strongest consumer stock backdrop in decades may be around the corner and there are plenty of stocks well positioned to benefit, according to Jefferies analysts.
\n
A surge in personal income, alongside the reopening of the economy will “unleash substantial pent-up demand” in service sector consumption, said chief economist Aneta Markowska in a note on Sunday.
Given the number of shares that Cathie Wood owns, I think she is in agreement.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Bargain Stocks That Cathie Wood Loves
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Bargain Stocks That Cathie Wood Loves\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-12-26 10:30 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
After an astounding 2020, the chief investment officer of ARK Invest and stock picker extraordinaire Cathie Wood has had a rough 2021. Cathie Wood has taken the opportunity to buy more shares this December, and you might want to consider doing the same.\nShopify: The rising e-commerce pick\nShopify is farther down at the 11th-largest ARK position, but still represents $950 million worth of shares -- and for good reason. The company has doubled its gross merchandise volume (GMV) over the past 16 months, reaching $400 billion in cumulative GMV on its merchants' platforms in Q3. This has been because of the company's relentless focus on its customers' growth and success. This is unrivaled by competitors like Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), which have often stifled SMBs by noticing their success and then offering and promoting a self-developed product that competes with them directly.\nThe company recently announced a new feature that would make international sales easier for merchants. Shopify Markets would allow companies to streamline global expansion -- something many Shopify users might never have thought possible. The company also has plans to roll out additional features over the next few years, with one of my personal favorites being Shopify Fulfillment. With this, users could access the fulfillment network that Shopify is building out and let the company pack and ship orders for them.\nThis focus on customer success is truly unique, which is why the company demands a very high premium. Given the number of shares that Cathie Wood owns, I think she is in agreement.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1464,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":355976906,"gmtCreate":1617026493605,"gmtModify":1634523057871,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Coinssss","listText":"Coinssss","text":"Coinssss","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/355976906","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":172,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":382069852,"gmtCreate":1613306418676,"gmtModify":1634553968096,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ohhhh","listText":"Ohhhh","text":"Ohhhh","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/382069852","repostId":"2110904027","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":52,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":603328837,"gmtCreate":1638368642250,"gmtModify":1638368642603,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pfizer!","listText":"Pfizer!","text":"Pfizer!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/603328837","repostId":"1119742422","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1119742422","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1638368504,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1119742422?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-01 22:21","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Moderna or Pfizer Stock: Which to Buy as Omicron Spreads?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1119742422","media":"TheStreet","summary":"Pandemic fears have returned since the discovery of the Omicron variant, and vaccine-related stocks ","content":"
Pandemic fears have returned since the discovery of the Omicron variant, and vaccine-related stocks are back in the spotlight. The stock is now in bear market territory, having pulled back 35.7 % from the Feb. 10 high of $64.60.

Is the sell-off in the shares justified? Did fundamentals flash the red light to investors, who were thronging to the stock in droves ahead of the current downturn?

The 2020 Highs: The COVID-19 pandemic, which broke out at the end of 2019 and ravaged the global economies for much of 2020, proved a blessing for some companies that benefited from the adversity.

Nio, a luxury EV maker, should have taken a big hit in the year, as cash-strapped users preferred to hold back on big-ticket buys. The company did have its momentum of despair in the first two months of 2020. Not bogged down by the adverse geopolitical milieu, the EV startup chose to be proactive instead. The company announced several innovative product andservice offerings.

Deliveries continued to climb through the year, with Nio's charismatic CEO William Bin attributing the strength to the growing recognition of its premium brand, the competitive and compelling products and services, the expanding sales network, and most importantly, the support from its passionate and loyal user community.

For 2020, Nio delivered 43,728 vehicles, an increase of 111% year-over-year.

The company also managed to rein in costs, giving margins a lift. It also succeeded in mobilizing finances through a combination of equity, debt and strategic investments, removing a key existential risk it faced in 2019.

Promptly the stock began discounting the fundamental improvement and closed out 2020 with a gain in excess of 1,100%. The strong rally stretched valuation to levels, with some skeptics beginning to question the irrational exuberance in the stock.

Fundamentals, Stock Pause At Start of 2021: Nio had a strong start to the year, as it continued to clock record monthly deliveries in January. The stock raced to a record high of $66.99 on Jan. 11, as it reacted to the announcements the company made at the annual Nio Day held on Jan. 10.

Thereafter, it has been a bumpy ride for the stock. Since the start of February, the stock has been caught in the vortex of the tech sell-off. Incidentally, market leader and EV pioneerTesla, Inc.TSLAwas not spared either. Since the all-time split-adjusted high of $900.40 hit in late January, Tesla shares have given back over 30%.

Nio investors were pinning their hopes on a stellar fourth-quarter report to lift the stock from the depressed levels. It was not to be. The stock continued to bleed despite the EV maker reporting $1 billion revenues for the quarter and seeing an expansion in gross margins.

Naysayers were quick to highlight the wider-than-expected loss and the month-over-month drop in deliveries.

As outlined by Deutsche Bank Securities analyst Edison Yu, the underperformance on the bottom line had to do with forex losses, engendered by a weaker dollar.

Although initially Nio did not explain away the February softness, it later clarified in a blog post the weeklong Lunar New Year holiday that fell in the month played spoilsport.

\"The majority of the employees receive seven days off work as a public holiday to spend time with their families, though the celebrations can last for more than two weeks nationwide. Most of the factories were shut down for weeks, and many products that rely on shipping and manufacturing might have been delayed,\" Nio said in the post.

Is Recovery In The Cards: The company has several catalysts ahead, including the launch of its first sedan, named ET7, and its plan to expand into Europe this year. The stock is now in bear market territory, having pulled back 35.7 % from the Feb. 10 high of $64.60.Is the sell-off in the shares justified? Did fundamentals flash the red light to investors, who were thronging to the stock in droves ahead of the current downturn? The 2020 Highs: The COVID-19 pandemic, which broke out at the end of 2019 and ravaged the global economies for much of 2020, proved a blessing for some companies that benefited from the adversity.Nio, a luxury EV maker, should have taken a big hit in the year, as cash-strapped users preferred to hold back on big-ticket buys. The company did have its momentum of despair in the first two months of 2020. Not bogged down by the adverse geopolitical milieu, the EV startup chose to be proactive instead. The company announced several innovative product andservice offerings.Deliveries continued to climb through the year, with Nio's charismatic CEO William Bin attributing the strength to the growing recognition of its premium brand, the competitive and compelling products and services, the expanding sales network, and most importantly, the support from its passionate and loyal user community. For 2020, Nio delivered 43,728 vehicles, an increase of 111% year-over-year.The company also managed to rein in costs, giving margins a lift. It also succeeded in mobilizing finances through a combination of equity, debt and strategic investments, removing a key existential risk it faced in 2019.Promptly the stock began discounting the fundamental improvement and closed out 2020 with a gain in excess of 1,100%. The strong rally stretched valuation to levels, with some skeptics beginning to question the irrational exuberance in the stock.Fundamentals, Stock Pause At Start of 2021: Nio had a strong start to the year, as it continued to clock record monthly deliveries in January. The stock raced to a record high of $66.99 on Jan. 11, as it reacted to the announcements the company made at the annual Nio Day held on Jan. 10.Thereafter, it has been a bumpy ride for the stock. Since the start of February, the stock has been caught in the vortex of the tech sell-off. Incidentally, market leader and EV pioneerTesla, Inc.TSLAwas not spared either. Since the all-time split-adjusted high of $900.40 hit in late January, Tesla shares have given back over 30%.Nio investors were pinning their hopes on a stellar fourth-quarter report to lift the stock from the depressed levels. It was not to be. The stock continued to bleed despite the EV maker reporting $1 billion revenues for the quarter and seeing an expansion in gross margins.Naysayers were quick to highlight the wider-than-expected loss and the month-over-month drop in deliveries. As outlined by Deutsche Bank Securities analyst Edison Yu, the underperformance on the bottom line had to do with forex losses, engendered by a weaker dollar.Although initially Nio did not explain away the February softness, it later clarified in a blog post the weeklong Lunar New Year holiday that fell in the month played spoilsport.\"The majority of the employees receive seven days off work as a public holiday to spend time with their families, though the celebrations can last for more than two weeks nationwide. Most of the factories were shut down for weeks, and many products that rely on shipping and manufacturing might have been delayed,\" Nio said in the post.Is Recovery In The Cards: The company has several catalysts ahead, including the launch of its first sedan, named ET7, and its plan to expand into Europe this year. The company is also making solid progress with respect to its advanced driver-assisted system, battery technology and battery swapping stations. With the increasing uptake of its battery-as-a-service offering and its recently announced autonomous driving-as-a-service, the company has laid the groundwork for recurrent revenue streams. This apart, the attractive market opportunity presented by the burgeoning EV market, both domestically and globally, will prove salubrious for the company. There is no denying the fact that EV manufacturing is turning out to be a crowded field. However, early entrants such as Nio are at an advantage, given their experiences in grinding it out in the early stages.Patient investors, who are willing to ride out the trying times, could be in for rich rewards when things settle down.Nio shares closed down 5.5% at $39.28, with the stock dropping below the $40 handle for the first time since mid-December.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":81,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":361068317,"gmtCreate":1614179595939,"gmtModify":1634550835593,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Nano Dimension(NNDM)$ can't wait to see it in green......","listText":"$Nano Dimension(NNDM)$ can't wait to see it in green......","text":"$Nano Dimension(NNDM)$ can't wait to see it in green......","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/361068317","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":36,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":160927392,"gmtCreate":1623770152416,"gmtModify":1634028539288,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Coins","listText":"Coins","text":"Coins","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/160927392","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":328,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":137975409,"gmtCreate":1622292762701,"gmtModify":1634102478630,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment pls","listText":"Like and comment pls","text":"Like and comment pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/137975409","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":272,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":322082424,"gmtCreate":1615735633768,"gmtModify":1703492472649,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572401971897760","idStr":"3572401971897760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Coins!
