The Nasdaq advanced, after the disappointing economic data appeared to make a case for monetary policy to stay on hold and interest rates to stay low, supporting tech and growth stocks. The S&P 500 ticked higher. Treasury yields sank, with the 10-year yield tumbling to below 1.55%.

The Labor Department said nonfarm payrolls increased by just 266,000 in April, far less than the 1 million total economists were expecting, according to Dow Jones. The unemployment rate rose to 6.1% last month amid an escalating shortage of available workers, higher than an expectation of 5.8%. Meanwhile, March's originally estimated total of 916,000 was revised down to 770,000.

The 10-year Treasury yield dropped 5 basis points (1 basis point is 0.01%) following the report, trigging the volatile market reaction and the rotation by investors.

On one hand, the report lowered expectations for the pandemic economic recovery and caused investors to dump shares most leveraged to the comeback. Goldman and Bank of America shares fell in the premarket, weighing on sentiment for the Dow.

On the other hand, the lower rates caused tech shares to jump in response, boosting sentiment for S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures. Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Alphabet, and Apple all jumped more than 1% in early trading.

This re-establishes a pattern seen earlier in the year where growth stocks moved inversely to interest rates. There are a few factors at play. When rates rise, investors have been dumping tech stock pandemic winners in favor of stocks more leveraged to the growing economy like banks. What's more, investors believe higher rates will hit growth stocks the most since they reduce the value of their future earnings. So now with rates dropping again on Friday, investors saw it safe to go back into tech stocks.

Bank of America research warned as recently as Fridaythat strong economic data could hit stocks, especially tech shares, if it caused the Federal Reserve to dial back on its easy monetary policies. But after that weak jobs report, that doesn't seem to be a concern and the Fed can keep the low rates and bond buying in place.

\"The Fed will feel some vindication in their hesitancy to embrace tapering,\" Adam Crisafulli, founder of Vital Knowledge, said in a note following the jobs report Friday.

Still, the disappointing jobs number poured cold water on many economists who estimated a sharp rebound in job growth. Goldman Sachs economists expected a total of 1.3 million jobs to have been added in April.

It also cast doubt on whether the economy could pull off a full recovery from the pandemic as quickly as many expect. Some economists are forecasting double-digit growth in the current quarter after gross domestic product rose at a 6.4% annualized pace in the first quarter. The Dow hit another record on Thursday on expectations for a booming economy.

\"It was a disappointing read on job creation and brings into question the assumption that Q2 is going to carry-forward the positive momentum established at the beginning of the year,\" Ian Lyngen, head of U.S. rates at BMO, said in a note.

Shares of Roku rallied more than 8% in premarket trading after the streaming company blew past expectations with its first-quarter results. Roku posted adjusted earnings of 54 cents per share, compared to an estimated loss of 13 cents per share, according to Refinitiv. Revenue rose 79% from a year ago and exceeded expectations.

On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 318 points, or 0.9%, to close near its session high and clinch a record close of 34,548.53. These stocks are worth looking over as they should provide ample total returns for patient investors.

1. AT&T: High dividends are calling

AT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.

Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.

All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.

The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.

2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter

W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.

The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.

It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.

Data by YCharts.

3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore

Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.

Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.

So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.

The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.

4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors

Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.

The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.

The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.

5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on

TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.

In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.

The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.

Making the best of a good situation

All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. Carey seems the most solid choice if you look at the company's track record of raising its dividend every quarter, the diversity of its real estate holdings, and the consistency of its cash situation.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 High-Yield Dividend Stocks to Watch
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 High-Yield Dividend Stocks to Watch\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-05 10:20 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
AT&T (NYSE:$(T)$), W.P. These stocks are worth looking over as they should provide ample total returns for patient investors.Image source: Getty Images.1. AT&T: High dividends are callingAT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarterW.P. It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.Data by YCharts.3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignoreSabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.4. Williams Companies: A boon to investorsWilliams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank onTFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.Making the best of a good situationAll five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. Carey seems the most solid choice if you look at the company's track record of raising its dividend every quarter, the diversity of its real estate holdings, and the consistency of its cash situation.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":502,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":109199804,"gmtCreate":1619670457808,"gmtModify":1634210840182,"author":{"id":"3570076580715675","authorId":"3570076580715675","name":"heyitsjiamin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/11ab7f8af36c07d1e8535709ec61f4ca","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3570076580715675","authorIdStr":"3570076580715675"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"v","listText":"v","text":"v","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/109199804","repostId":"1189300994","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":438,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":109199057,"gmtCreate":1619670423579,"gmtModify":1634210840546,"author":{"id":"3570076580715675","authorId":"3570076580715675","name":"heyitsjiamin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/11ab7f8af36c07d1e8535709ec61f4ca","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3570076580715675","authorIdStr":"3570076580715675"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"comment pls","listText":"comment pls","text":"comment pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/109199057","repostId":"1189300994","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1189300994","pubTimestamp":1619668478,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1189300994?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-29 11:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Global Chip Shortage Hits Apple, BMW, Ford as Crisis Worsens","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1189300994","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- The global chip shortage is going from bad to worse with automakers on three continen","content":"
(Bloomberg) -- The global chip shortage is going from bad to worse with automakers on three continents joining tech giants Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. in flagging production cuts and lost revenue from the crisis.

In quick succession, Honda Motor Co. said it will halt production at three plants in Japan for around five to six days next month; BMW AG flagged it will pause Mini car production at its Oxford, England, factory for three days; and Ford Motor Co. reduced its full-year earnings forecast due to the debilitating chip shortage, which it now sees extending into next year.

And now, the very companies that benefitted from surging demand for phones, laptops and electronics during the pandemic that caused the chip shortage, are starting to feel the pinch. No one is changing ratings or target prices on Tesla (ticker: TSLA) stock. But they are paying attention because both issues—Tesla’s full-self-driving technology, or FSD, along with the Chinese electric-vehicle market—matter a lot for Tesla stock.
\n
China, after all, is the world’s largest market for new cars and for EVs. And many of themost aggressiveprice targets on Wall Street include billions for FSD sales, and future robotaxi businesses.
\n
“Autonomy, software and China are key lynchpins to the [Tesla] bull thesis,” writes RBC analystJoe Spakin a Sunday research report. In particular, Spak believes self-driving features will be a bigger competitive differentiator than vehicle electrification down the road. “Any doubt over [Tesla’s] ability or increased regulation on the FSD/software products or performance in China could hinder the bull case.” He expects all the issues to be addressed in the company’s Monday-evening earnings conference call and expects Tesla to defend its safety record and technology.
\n
In China, New Street Research analystPierre Ferragudoesn’t believe there is a brand image problem, adding that Tesla is a cult status brand in China. “ Elon Musk is also one of the most popular American business leaders in China and drives a strong social media presence with ~1.7 million followers on [social media platform] Weibo, more than [Apple CEO] Tim Cook, ” writes Ferragu in a recent research report. Ferragu adds that he believes press reports are negatively biased against Tesla. “Should investors worry about this? Probably not, negative stock reactions are getting shallower and shorter.”
\n
He has a point. For Tesla stock, recent news has been a tempest in a teapot. Shares are actually up about 1% compared with prices prevailing just before the Texas accident. That’s a little better than comparable gains of theNasdaq CompositeandS&P 500over the same span.
\n
What’s more, having investors expectations about Tesla’s business in China tempered can be a good thing, according to Morgan Stanley analystAdam Jonas. “This is a good thing,” writes Jonas in a recent research report. “Market expectations for Tesla in China long term are quite a bit too high.” Getting expectations in line for a high growth stock like Tesla can cut back on painful stock volatility.
\n
Jonas rates Tesla stock at Buy with a $900 price target. That’s the same rating and target for Ferragu. Spak rates shares Hold and has a $725 target price. Cowen analystJeffery Osborneis a little more conservative, rating shares at Hold. His price target is $573 a share.
\n
He is paying attention to Tesla headlines, which add to his overall caution. No one is changing ratings or target prices on Tesla (ticker: TSLA) stock. But they are paying attention because both issues—Tesla’s full-self-driving technology, or FSD, along with the Chinese electric-vehicle market—matter a lot for Tesla stock.\nChina, after all, is the world’s largest market for new cars and for EVs. And many of themost aggressiveprice targets on Wall Street include billions for FSD sales, and future robotaxi businesses.\n“Autonomy, software and China are key lynchpins to the [Tesla] bull thesis,” writes RBC analystJoe Spakin a Sunday research report. In particular, Spak believes self-driving features will be a bigger competitive differentiator than vehicle electrification down the road. “Any doubt over [Tesla’s] ability or increased regulation on the FSD/software products or performance in China could hinder the bull case.” He expects all the issues to be addressed in the company’s Monday-evening earnings conference call and expects Tesla to defend its safety record and technology.\nIn China, New Street Research analystPierre Ferragudoesn’t believe there is a brand image problem, adding that Tesla is a cult status brand in China. Probably not, negative stock reactions are getting shallower and shorter.”\nHe has a point. For Tesla stock, recent news has been a tempest in a teapot. Shares are actually up about 1% compared with prices prevailing just before the Texas accident. That’s a little better than comparable gains of theNasdaq CompositeandS&P 500over the same span.\nWhat’s more, having investors expectations about Tesla’s business in China tempered can be a good thing, according to Morgan Stanley analystAdam Jonas. “This is a good thing,” writes Jonas in a recent research report. “Market expectations for Tesla in China long term are quite a bit too high.” Getting expectations in line for a high growth stock like Tesla can cut back on painful stock volatility.\nJonas rates Tesla stock at Buy with a $900 price target. That’s the same rating and target for Ferragu. Spak rates shares Hold and has a $725 target price. Cowen analystJeffery Osborneis a little more conservative, rating shares at Hold. His price target is $573 a share.\nHe is paying attention to Tesla headlines, which add to his overall caution. In addition to PR items linked to Texas and China, Osborne writes that he is worried about the global automotive-semiconductor shortage hitting production as well as rising EV competition.\nTesla stock is down about 18% from its 52-week high because there are a lot more things on investors’ minds. Addressing the issues successfully could propel shares higher in the short run, but that assumes Tesla is able to resolve issues to investors’ satisfaction.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":263,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":374790580,"gmtCreate":1619480207340,"gmtModify":1634273170613,"author":{"id":"3570076580715675","authorId":"3570076580715675","name":"heyitsjiamin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/11ab7f8af36c07d1e8535709ec61f4ca","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3570076580715675","authorIdStr":"3570076580715675"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"excited","listText":"excited","text":"excited","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/374790580","repostId":"1184404050","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1184404050","pubTimestamp":1619319329,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1184404050?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-25 10:55","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What to watch in the markets this week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1184404050","media":"CNBC","summary":"The last week of April will be extremely busy for markets with a third of the S&P 500 reporting earnings, a Federal Reserve meeting, and new spending and tax proposals from the White House.Big Tech is a highlight of the earnings calendar, with Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and Alphabet all releasing results. The Fed is not expected to take any action, but economists expect it to defend its policy to let inflation run hot. There is some key data including first-quarter gross domestic product a","content":"
\n
KEY POINTSThe last week of April will be extremely busy for markets with a third of the S&P 500 reporting earnings, a Federal Reserve meeting, and new spending and tax proposals from the White House....
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The president addresses a joint session of Congress Wednesday evening. It’s a huge week for earnings with about a third of the S&P 500 reporting, including Big Tech names, such as Apple,Microsoft,Alphabet and Amazon. As many have already done, firms like Boeing, Ford,Caterpillar and McDonald’s, are likely to detail cost pressures they are facing from rising materials and transportation costs and supply chain disruptions. At the same time, the Fed is expected to defend its policy of letting inflation run hot, while assuring markets it sees the pick-up in prices as only temporary. The central bank meets on Tuesday and Wednesday. The central bank takes the main stage“I think the Fed would like not to be a feature next week, but the Fed will be forced from the background because of concerns about inflation,” said Diane Swonk, chief economist at Grant Thornton. The central bank is not expected to make any policy moves, but Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s press briefing following the meeting Wednesday will be closely watched. So far, the barrage of earnings news has been positive, with 86% of companies reporting earnings beats. Corporate profits are expected to be up about 33.9% for the first quarter, based on estimates and actual reports, according to Refinitiv. Revenues are about 9.9% higher. There is important inflation data Friday when the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge is reported. The personal consumption expenditure report is expected to show a 1.8% rise in core inflation, still below the Fed’s target of 2%. Other data releases include the first-quarter gross domestic product on Thursday, which is expected to have grown by 6.5%, according to Dow Jones.“I think the Fed has no urgency to shift monetary policy at this point,” said Ian Lyngen, head of U.S. rates strategy at BMO. “The Fed needs to acknowledge that the data is improving. We had a strong first quarter.”“The Fed needs to acknowledge that but at the same time they’re keeping extremely accommodative policy in place, so they’ll have to make a note to the fact that the easy policy is warranted,” he said.Lyngen said the Fed will likely point to continued concerns about the pandemic globally as a potential risk to the economic recovery.Powell is also expected to once more explain that the Fed will let inflation rise above its 2% target for a period of time before it raises rates so that the economy can have more time to heal. “It’s going to be a challenge for the Fed,” said Swonk. The base effects for the next several months will make inflation appear to have jumped sharply because of the comparison to a weak period last year. The consumer price index for April could be above 3%, compared to 2.6% last month, Swonk added.“The Fed is trying to let a lot more people get out onto the dance floor before it calls ‘last call,’” she said. “Really what Powell has been saying since day one is if we take care of people on the margins and bring them back into the labor force, the rest will take care of itself.”Stocks were slightly lower in the past week, and Treasury yields held at lower levels. The 10-year yield, which moves opposite price, was at 1.55% Friday. The S&P 500was down 0.1%, ending the week at 4,180, while Nasdaq Composite was down nearly 0.3% at 14,016. The Dow was off just shy of 0.5% at 34,043.Tax hike prospectsStocks were hit hard on Thursday when after a news report said that Biden is expected to propose a capital gains tax rate of 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million a year.Combined with the 3.8% net investment income tax, the new levy would more than double the long term capital gains rate of 20% or the richest Americans.Strategists said Biden is expected to propose raising the income tax rate for those earning more than $400,000.“I think a lot of people are starting to price in the risk there going to be a significant increase in both corporate and capital gains taxes,” said Lyngen. So far, companies have not provided much in the way of commentary on the proposed hike in corporate taxes to 28% from 21% but they have been talking about other costs.David Bianco, chief investment strategist for the Americas at DWS, said he expects larger companies will do better dealing with supply chain constraints than smaller ones. Big Tech is also likely to fare better during the semiconductor shortage than auto makers, which have already announced production shutdowns, he said.“Next week is tech week. I think we’re going to get down on our knees and just be in awe of their business models and their ability to grow at a behemoth scale,” Bianco said.He said he’s not in favor of Wall Street’s popular trade into cyclicals and out of growth. He still favors growth.“We’re overweight equities really because we’re concerned about rising interest rates,” Bianco said. “I’m not bullish in that I expect the market to rise that much from here.”“We stuck with growth and dug deeper into bond substitutes, utilities, staples, real estate,” he said, adding he is underweight industrials, energy and materials. “Energy is doomed. It’s being nationalized via regulation. I do like industrials, they are well-run companies, but I do think infrastructure spending expectations for classic infrastructure are too high.”He also said industrials are good businesses, but the stocks have become overvalued.Bianco said he likes big box stores, but smaller retailers are facing big challenges that were already impacting them prior to Covid. He also finds small biotech firms attractive.“I like healthcare stocks. Those valuations are reasonable. People have been paranoid about politicians beating on them since 1992. They manage through it and lately they’ve been delivering,” he said.Week ahead calendarMondayEarnings:Tesla,Canadian National Railway, Canon,Check Point Software,Otis Worldwide, Vale,Ameriprise,NXP AT&T: High dividends are calling

\n\n
\n
\n
\n
AT&T (NYSE:$(T)$), W.P. unimpressive report as ","content":"
\n FuboTV benefits from live sports, which will keep it from suffering the same unimpressive report as Netflix.\n
\n
Why Is fuboTV Stock Higher Today?
\n
\n
FuboTV(NASDAQ:FUBO) stock popped more than 5% on Wednesday, despite streaming peerNetflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) reporting unimpressive first-quarter numbers just days earlier.
\n
Those numbers broadly underscored that the streaming TV industry is slowing down as the pandemic recedes, the physical economy reopens and consumers more frequently go back outside.
\n
One would think that’s bad news for FUBO stock.
\n
Wall Street doesn’t think so: fuboTV’s stock rallied in a big way, despite Netflix’s sour earnings report.
\n
\n
How Netflix Impacts FUBO Stock
\n
\n
Netflix reported a sharp slowdown in subscriber growth in the first quarter of 2021, and called for that slowdown to get worse in the second quarter as the company faces headwinds from a “pull-forward” of demand into 2020 thanks to the pandemic.
\n
Many fear these same “pull-forward” demand headwinds will show up in fuboTV’s first-quarter earnings report.
\n
Indeed, fuboTV’s app download trends followed a similar downward trend as Netflix’s in the first quarter of 2021, per data from Similar Web.
\n
But fuboTV has one thing that Netflix doesn’t have:sports.
\n
Sports could save FUBO stock this quarter.
\n
\n
Why Sports Matter to fuboTV Stock
\n
\n
Consumers may have watched less Netflix TV shows and movies during the first quarter of 2021. But they watched moresports.
\n
In the first quarter of 2021, we had a Super Bowl and March Madness — two huge sporting events after a near 12-month lull in sports outside of the NBA playing in a bubble in Florida.
\n
FuboTV is ahugebeneficiary of this, because it is a sports-focused live TV streaming service. The whole value prop of fuboTV is that you can stream live sports without a cable box.
\n
SimilarWeb data does show that fubo.tv web traffic dipped in February, but then rebounded in March. First-quarter traffic trends overall look healthy.
\n
This difference means fuboTV’s earnings could look a lot better than Netflix’s earnings.
\n
\n
FUBO Stock Price Forecast
\n
\n
We believe FUBO stock is fundamentally undervalued.
\n
Long-term, we have confidence in fuboTV’s ability to acquire exclusive local and international sports content, amass an unrivaled war-chest of live sports streaming rights, launch an interactive digital sportsbook that integrates with its streaming platform, and ultimately put all those pieces together to create the world’s first all-in-one, digital sports-betting-and-streaming platform where consumers can interactively watch and bet on sports through a digital platform.
\n
We see this as the future. If fuboTV does successfully create this platform, then FUBO stock will one day be worth multiples of itself.
\n
Execution risks here are large. But fuboTV’s market cap is small. Even minimal success in this pursuit could result in multi-bagger returns.
\n
The consensus analyst price target on FUBO stock is $46. We think shares are worth at least $50, based on the company’s long-term earnings growth potential.
\n
We see 100%-plus upside in shares over the next 12 months.
\n
\n
FUBO stock is a great play on the fact that the world is pivoting from linear TV to streaming TV. This pivot encompasses Netflix, fuboTV,Roku(NASDAQ:ROKU),Disney (NYSE:DIS), AT&T (NYSE:T) and so many more. By the end of the decade, everything we watch will be through the internet. Cable boxes will be as obsolete as CD players are today.
\n
Netflix stock is the blue-chip stock to buy to play this streaming revolution. Roku stock is a higher-upside but still relatively safe bet. fuboTV stock may be the highest upside play in the space. That’s why it belongs in myInnovation Investorportfolio, which is focused on investing in emerging companies pioneering breakthrough technologies and business models which could change the world.
\n
It’s basically a portfolio aimed at finding the nextAmazon(NASDAQ:AMZN), the nextFacebook(NASDAQ:FB), and the nextTesla(NASAQ:TSLA)… before everyone else.
\n
FuboTV fits that billing. It’s the next Netflix.
\n
But it’s one of dozens stock picks in this ultra-exclusive portfolio.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Even minimal success in this pursuit could result in multi-bagger returns.\nThe consensus analyst price target on FUBO stock is $46. We think shares are worth at least $50, based on the company’s long-term earnings growth potential.\nWe see 100%-plus upside in shares over the next 12 months.\n\nFUBO stock is a great play on the fact that the world is pivoting from linear TV to streaming TV. This pivot encompasses Netflix, fuboTV,Roku(NASDAQ:ROKU),Disney (NYSE:DIS), AT&T (NYSE:T) and so many more. By the end of the decade, everything we watch will be through the internet. Cable boxes will be as obsolete as CD players are today.\nNetflix stock is the blue-chip stock to buy to play this streaming revolution. Roku stock is a higher-upside but still relatively safe bet. fuboTV stock may be the highest upside play in the space. That’s why it belongs in myInnovation Investorportfolio, which is focused on investing in emerging companies pioneering breakthrough technologies and business models which could change the world.\nIt’s basically a portfolio aimed at finding the nextAmazon(NASDAQ:AMZN), the nextFacebook(NASDAQ:FB), and the nextTesla(NASAQ:TSLA)… before everyone else.\nFuboTV fits that billing. It’s the next Netflix.\nBut it’s one of dozens stock picks in this ultra-exclusive portfolio.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":116,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":166410956,"gmtCreate":1624022047875,"gmtModify":1634024004424,"author":{"id":"3570076580715675","authorId":"3570076580715675","name":"heyitsjiamin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/11ab7f8af36c07d1e8535709ec61f4ca","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3570076580715675","authorIdStr":"3570076580715675"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"aw POINTSThe last week of April will be extremely busy for markets with a third of the S&P 500 reporting earnings, a Federal Reserve meeting, and new spending and tax proposals from the White House.Big Tech is a highlight of the earnings calendar, with Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and Alphabet all releasing results.The Fed is not expected to take any action, but economists expect it to defend its policy to let inflation run hot.There is some key data including first-quarter gross domestic product and the Fed’s favorite inflation measure: the personal consumption expenditures deflator.The final week of April is going to be a busy one for markets with a Federal Reserve meeting and a deluge of earnings news.Hot topics in markets will continue to be inflation and taxes.President Joe Biden is expected to detail his “American Families Plan” and the tax increases to pay for it, including a much higher capital gains tax for the wealthy.The plan is the second part of his Build Back Better agenda and will include new spending proposals aimed at helping families. The president addresses a joint session of Congress Wednesday evening.It’s a huge week for earnings with about a third of the S&P 500 reporting, including Big Tech names, such as Apple,Microsoft,Alphabet and Amazon.As many have already done, firms like Boeing, Ford,Caterpillar and McDonald’s, are likely to detail cost pressures they are facing from rising materials and transportation costs and supply chain disruptions.At the same time, the Fed is expected to defend its policy of letting inflation run hot, while assuring markets it sees the pick-up in prices as only temporary. The central bank meets on Tuesday and Wednesday.The central bank takes the main stage“I think the Fed would like not to be a feature next week, but the Fed will be forced from the background because of concerns about inflation,” said Diane Swonk, chief economist at Grant Thornton.The central bank is not expected to make any policy moves, but Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s press briefing following the meeting Wednesday will be closely watched.So far, the barrage of earnings news has been positive, with 86% of companies reporting earnings beats. Corporate profits are expected to be up about 33.9% for the first quarter, based on estimates and actual reports, according to Refinitiv. Revenues are about 9.9% higher.There is important inflation data Friday when the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge is reported.The personal consumption expenditure report is expected to show a 1.8% rise in core inflation, still below the Fed’s target of 2%. Other data releases include the first-quarter gross domestic product on Thursday, which is expected to have grown by 6.5%, according to Dow Jones.“I think the Fed has no urgency to shift monetary policy at this point,” said Ian Lyngen, head of U.S. rates strategy at BMO. “The Fed needs to acknowledge that the data is improving. We had a strong first quarter.”“The Fed needs to acknowledge that but at the same time they’re keeping extremely accommodative policy in place, so they’ll have to make a note to the fact that the easy policy is warranted,” he said.Lyngen said the Fed will likely point to continued concerns about the pandemic globally as a potential risk to the economic recovery.Powell is also expected to once more explain that the Fed will let inflation rise above its 2% target for a period of time before it raises rates so that the economy can have more time to heal. “It’s going to be a challenge for the Fed,” said Swonk.The base effects for the next several months will make inflation appear to have jumped sharply because of the comparison to a weak period last year. The consumer price index for April could be above 3%, compared to 2.6% last month, Swonk added.“The Fed is trying to let a lot more people get out onto the dance floor before it calls ‘last call,’” she said. “Really what Powell has been saying since day one is if we take care of people on the margins and bring them back into the labor force, the rest will take care of itself.”Stocks were slightly lower in the past week, and Treasury yields held at lower levels. The 10-year yield,which moves opposite price, was at 1.55% Friday.The S&P 500was down 0.1%, ending the week at 4,180, while Nasdaq Composite was down nearly 0.3% at 14,016. The Dow was off just shy of 0.5% at 34,043.Tax hike prospectsStocks were hit hard on Thursday when after a news report said that Biden is expected to propose a capital gains tax rate of 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million a year.Combined with the 3.8% net investment income tax, the new levy would more than double the long term capital gains rate of 20% or the richest Americans.Strategists said Biden is expected to propose raising the income tax rate for those earning more than $400,000.“I think a lot of people are starting to price in the risk there going to be a significant increase in both corporate and capital gains taxes,” said Lyngen.So far, companies have not provided much in the way of commentary on the proposed hike in corporate taxes to 28% from 21% but they have been talking about other costs.David Bianco, chief investment strategist for the Americas at DWS, said he expects larger companies will do better dealing with supply chain constraints than smaller ones. Big Tech is also likely to fare better during the semiconductor shortage than auto makers, which have already announced production shutdowns, he said.“Next week is tech week. I think we’re going to get down on our knees and just be in awe of their business models and their ability to grow at a behemoth scale,” Bianco said.He said he’s not in favor of Wall Street’s popular trade into cyclicals and out of growth. He still favors growth.“We’re overweight equities really because we’re concerned about rising interest rates,” Bianco said. “I’m not bullish in that I expect the market to rise that much from here.”“We stuck with growth and dug deeper into bond substitutes, utilities, staples, real estate,” he said, adding he is underweight industrials, energy and materials. “Energy is doomed. It’s being nationalized via regulation. I do like industrials, they are well-run companies, but I do think infrastructure spending expectations for classic infrastructure are too high.”He also said industrials are good businesses, but the stocks have become overvalued.Bianco said he likes big box stores, but smaller retailers are facing big challenges that were already impacting them prior to Covid. He also finds small biotech firms attractive.“I like healthcare stocks. Those valuations are reasonable. People have been paranoid about politicians beating on them since 1992. They manage through it and lately they’ve been delivering,” he said.Week ahead calendarMondayEarnings:Tesla,Canadian National Railway, Canon,Check Point Software,Otis Worldwide, Vale,Ameriprise,NXP Semiconductor,Albertsons, Royal Phillips8:30 a.m. Durable goodsTuesdayFOMC begins two day meetingEarnings:Microsoft,Alphabet,Visa,Amgen,Advanced Micro Devices,3M,General Electric,Eli Lilly, Hasbro,United Parcel Service,BP,Novartis,JetBlue,Pultegroup,Archer Daniels Midland,Waste Management,Starbucks,Texas Instrument,Chubb,Mondelez,FireEye,Corning,Raytheon9:00 a.m. S&P/Case-Shiller9:00 a.m. FHFA home prices10:00 a.m. Consumer confidence10:00 a.m. Housing vacanciesWednesdayEarnings:Apple, Boeing,Facebook,Qualcomm,Ford,MGM Resorts,Humana,Norfolk Southern,General Dynamics,Boston Scientific, eBay, Samsung Electronics, GlaxoSmithKline,Yum Brands, SiriusXM, Aflac,Cheesecake Factory,Community Health System,CIT Group,Entergy,CME Group,Hess,Ryder System8:30 a.m. Advance economic indicators2:00 p.m. Fed statement2:30 p.m. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell briefingThursdayEarnings:Amazon,Caterpillar,McDonald’s,Twitter,Bristol-Myers Squibb,Comcast,Merck,Northrop Grumman, Airbus,Kraft Heinz,Intercontinental Exchange,Mastercard,Gilead Sciences,U.S. Steel, Cirrus Logic,Texas Roadhouse, Cabot Oil, PG&E,Royal Dutch Shell,Church & Dwight, Carlyle Group,Southern Co.8:30 a.m. Initial jobless claims8:30 a.m. Real GDP Q110:00 a.m. Pending home salesFridayEarnings:ExxonMobil,Chevron,Colgate-Palmolive,AstraZeneca,Clorox,Barclays, AbbVie, BNP Paribas,Weyerhaeuser,Illinois Tool Works, CBOE Global Markets, Lazard,Newell Brands,Aon,LyondellBasell,Pitney Bowes,Phillips 66,Charter Communications8:30 a.m. Personal income and spending8:30 a.m. Employment cost index Q19:45 a.m. Chicago PMI10:00 a.m. Consumer sentimentSaturdayEarnings:Berkshire Hathaway","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":334,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":372665041,"gmtCreate":1619204524383,"gmtModify":1634287784057,"author":{"id":"3570076580715675","authorId":"3570076580715675","name":"heyitsjiamin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/11ab7f8af36c07d1e8535709ec61f4ca","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3570076580715675","authorIdStr":"3570076580715675"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"cool","listText":"cool","text":"cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/372665041","repostId":"1128911279","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":45,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
