4月宣布完成1.03亿元的E轮融资,估值10亿美元,跻身世界独角兽的新闻成功刷屏,我们就以Coursera的前世今生来一窥MOOC的发展。</p><p>Coursera是一家在线教育平台,由斯坦福的两名教授Daphne Koller和吴恩达(Andrew Ng)于2012年在美国加利福尼亚州创办。吴恩达真正被国内熟知的还是他百度前首席科学家的身份,作为人工智能的领军人物,他2012年上线的“机器学习”现在依然是Coursera最受欢迎的课程,截止到2018年,有超过170万人注册该门课程,他可能是这个世界上教授学生最多的人了。</p><p>截至目前,Coursera宣布已经与150多所大学合作,共有4000万人通过Coursera平台学习。他们能从3200节课程、310门“专项课程”(参加一系列相关课程可获得证书,这是Coursera表达该项目的术语)、和14个本科学位和研究生学位中自行选择课程。</p><p>另外据 Crunch Base数据显示,Coursera的融资总额已达到3.14亿美元。</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/80dcba35edbc684f588db04adda5bbf1\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"668\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>Coursera融资历程</p><p>2012年时,Coursera横空出世,MOOC随之在全球蔓延。7年过去,当大量MOOC平台逐渐沉寂,Coursera却还一直保持着高额的融资与数据增长,首先当然与其始终优质的高校课程内容密切相关。内容之外,逐渐稳定增长的收入以及成功的全球化扩张,或许是其成功的另外两个重要原因。</p><p>一、</p><p>在线学位业务+付费课程+</p><p>TOB企业员工培训</p><p>Coursera的三大收入来源</p><p>1. 证书体系是MOOC最可耻的商业模式?</p><p>Coursera对于商业模式的探索可以追溯到2012年。在这一年,拥有200万用户的Coursera正式做了自己第一个商业化模式探索:雇主匹配服务。雇主需要支付费用,来获取优质候选人的信息。当年,Facebook, Twitter, AppDirect和TrialPay等数家公司都跟Coursera签署了合作协议。Coursera最终没有对外公开此次探索的收入,并且该服务很早以前就消失在Coursera的官网中。</p><p>不过很快,Coursera就做了另外一次尝试——signature track。此时Coursera的课程依旧免费,但是如果学习者想要获得一个具有权威的证书的话,那么就要付49美元。这个产品让Coursera在9个月内营收了100万美元。</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5dce60aade3dd1c26f548f4443dea584\" tg-width=\"389\" tg-height=\"491\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>此后,Coursera进一步加强与大学的合作,探索在线学位证书业务。选修Coursera的课程可以被认证为大学的学分,大学会支付给Coursera一部分的课程授权费,一个典型的在线项目管理课程能够给Coursera带来80%左右的收入。在这个基础上,Coursera2015年推出首个在线MBA学位。到2018年的时候,Coursera已经和8所大学建立学位项目合作,其中包括宾夕法尼亚大学、密歇根大学、苏黎世理工学院等。</p><p>在探索的早期,有人将证书体系称之为 MOOC 目前为止找到的最可耻的商业模式。</p><p>2. 付费课程探索,进军职业教育</p><p>在signature track推出后的第二年,Coursera宣布推出新的付费课程项目specialization,49美元一组课。学生可以通过specialization中几组课程深入掌握一个学科,并在上完课程之后可以得到相关学校颁发的证书。</p><p>根据Coursera提供的数据,specialization产品上线5个月后,有14000名学习者购买了该付费课程,同时还刺激了singature track产品的销售。在当时,specialization为Coursera带去了100万美元的收益。</p><p>2014 年 3月,Andrew 卸任公司CEO加入百度,新的掌舵者为前耶鲁大学校长 Rick Levin,丰富的人脉资源是他的优势。事实也证明,在他的带领之下,Coursera的全球化以及合作伙伴拓展都得到了迅速的扩张,除了优质的大学资源外,还包括许多业界资源,例如亚马逊、PWC等等。</p><p>2015年,Coursera宣布与 Google,Instagram 以及其他的500家创业公司合作,将原有的微专业课程specialization升级为更加注重实际工作能力提升的Capstones,开始进军职业教育。同时,课程价格也从49美元升级到95美元。</p><p>Levin Rick曾表示:Coursera在Capstones拓展上几乎没有投入,绝大部分的Capstone项目都是由合作公司来完成整个的教研工作。Capstones不仅仅帮助Coursera提高了公司收入,同时也提高了平台学生的完课率。</p><p>3. TO B企业培训 未来战略布局重点</p><p>2016年的时候,Coursera上线了企业员工培训课程业务,“ Coursera for Business”。 Coursera将为企业量身定做培训服务,例如,企业内的金融培训课,Coursera将根据具体的课程进行收费。具体的收费金额以及收入情况并没有对外公开说明。</p><p>根据目前的信息显示,TO B成为了Coursera营收中增长最快的部分。</p><p>有数据表明,企业用户市场拥有巨大的盈利空间。2015年,美国的企业培训市场大概120亿美元,而到2020年,全球企业培训市场将达到310亿美元规模。</p><p>Class Central创始人达瓦尔预计,Coursera全球化的主要客户将是有经营许可证的企业组织,该客户群体的费用是每人每年400美元起。</p><p>在2019最新的一轮融资中,Coursera现任CEO杰夫·马金卡尔达(Jeff Maggioncalda)也表示,本轮融资将用于为企业和政府提供更多产品,帮助他们通过 Coursera平台,以福利的形式,为员工提供更多课程。</p><p>可以想见,未来的TO B企业培训仍将是Coursera重点布局发力方向。</p><p>二、</p><p>Coursera的全球化扩张</p><p>整个全球在线教育市场规模预计为4.6万亿美元,而现有的在线教育公司吃掉的只是冰山一角。扩大市场规模,占据更大份额,全球化是必须之路。</p><p>2014年1月,Coursera正式宣布自己的国际化战略,新增29所学校,90门课程以及4中新的语言。这4种语言包括法语、西班牙语、中文以及意大利语。</p><p>不过,当时的Coursera其实已经在全球化路上探索了很久。2013年B轮融资时,Coursera已经和四大洲的83个教育机构展开合作,为全世界400万名学生提供400门免费课程。</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/110d415a02ab40fdd67606421fc41ff0\" tg-width=\"558\" tg-height=\"773\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>Coursera增势信息图</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6a60b7a6d337b925f30a833a29f974af\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"168\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>1. 全球高校课程的“集散中心”</p><p>课程内容保证是所有MOOC生存的基础。</p><p>Coursera将世界知名高校课程内容带到全球各个国家,并将课程内容语言本土化,同时,他们也将本土国家高校课程内容,通过Coursera全球脉络再散发到世界各地,帮助该国家和学校建立全球品牌影响力。</p><p>北京大学是Coursera在中国大陆第一个高校合作伙伴。以北京大学《艺术史》课程为例,资料显示,参与这门课的学习者中有19.1%来自亚洲以外地区,其中10.7% 来自美国。</p><p>目前国内共有7所大学和Coursera建立了合作:清华大学、北京大学、复旦大学、南京大学、上海交大、西安交大和中国科学技术大学。</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e3d6a26601111e786dd33fe194555747\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"345\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>2. 寻找当地合作伙伴 资源互补</p><p>仍以中国为例,Coursera2013年和网易达成了战略合作关系,开始进军中国。此后陆续和果壳网、新东方、课程格子、沪江网、VIPKID等一批在国内教育企业建立合作。</p><p>Coursera为相应的中国企业提供全球高校课程内容、品牌背书等,中国本土合作伙伴主要承担了Coursera课程内容语言的翻译、传播、中国用户的获取以及用户体验优化等,双方也曾尝试部分商业模式探索的合作。</p><p>3. 资本助推全球化布局</p><p>2015年,Coursera在C轮融资中,引入了一家拥有印度时报等媒体的投资机构Times Internet Limited (TIL),同时还有新加坡经济发展局投资私人有限公司(简称EDBI)。</p><p>Rick Levin当时称他对印度市场很乐观,相信 TIL 的投资将帮助Coursera从印刷和数字等渠道带来“用户的激增”。</p><p>确实, 2015年C轮融资时,印度是Coursera在中国之外的第二大海外市场,两年后也就是2017年时,印度成为仅次于美国的Coursera的全球第二大市场。</p><p>Coursera B轮融资方Learn Capital主要关注教育行业,曾投资VIPKID。在2017年时,Coursera宣布和VIPKID合作,Coursera通过TO B在线培训保证VIPKID的师资质量,同时还为其外教提供TESOL认证。</p><p>2019年4月,Coursera宣布完成1.03亿美元的E轮融资。该轮融资由SEEK集团牵头,该集团在澳大利亚证券交易所(ASX:SEK)上市。它是一家以投资和扩大在线教育和就业业务而闻名的公司。据了解,本轮融资将用于扩大国际市场,帮助学习者做好准备,迎接“第四次工业革命”的挑战。</p><p>此次融资,被市场解读为,不仅仅是Cousera在职业教育以及TO B方向的再一步前进,同时也代表了,Coursera或将加大在澳大利亚的布局。</p><p>结语</p><p>Coursera的一路发展,证书体系,学位颁发,特别是职业教育以及TO B企业培训,本质上TO B企业培训也是提供给企业员工的新型职业教育,都为全球MOOC提供了很多可以借鉴的经验与教训。</p><p>这一切似乎又与我们最初谈到市场热议的MOOC和职业教育不谋而合。</p><p>MOOC剑指职业教育似乎成了全球共识。</p><p>一切就像是Coursera新任CEO马金卡尔达表示的,“我们开始意识到,这个系统同时包括了学习者、教育工作者和雇主,而开放课程是这个强大功能系统的一部分。终身学习已经成为现实,即使工作了,人们也必须能够继续学习。”</p>","source":"lsy1577348446534","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; TO B企业培训 未来战略布局重点2016年的时候,Coursera上线了企业员工培训课程业务,“ Coursera for Business”。 Coursera将为企业量身定做培训服务,例如,企业内的金融培训课,Coursera将根据具体的课程进行收费。具体的收费金额以及收入情况并没有对外公开说明。根据目前的信息显示,TO B成为了Coursera营收中增长最快的部分。有数据表明,企业用户市场拥有巨大的盈利空间。2015年,美国的企业培训市场大概120亿美元,而到2020年,全球企业培训市场将达到310亿美元规模。Class Central创始人达瓦尔预计,Coursera全球化的主要客户将是有经营许可证的企业组织,该客户群体的费用是每人每年400美元起。在2019最新的一轮融资中,Coursera现任CEO杰夫·马金卡尔达(Jeff Maggioncalda)也表示,本轮融资将用于为企业和政府提供更多产品,帮助他们通过 Coursera平台,以福利的形式,为员工提供更多课程。可以想见,未来的TO B企业培训仍将是Coursera重点布局发力方向。二、Coursera的全球化扩张整个全球在线教育市场规模预计为4.6万亿美元,而现有的在线教育公司吃掉的只是冰山一角。扩大市场规模,占据更大份额,全球化是必须之路。2014年1月,Coursera正式宣布自己的国际化战略,新增29所学校,90门课程以及4中新的语言。这4种语言包括法语、西班牙语、中文以及意大利语。不过,当时的Coursera其实已经在全球化路上探索了很久。2013年B轮融资时,Coursera已经和四大洲的83个教育机构展开合作,为全世界400万名学生提供400门免费课程。Coursera增势信息图1. 全球高校课程的“集散中心”课程内容保证是所有MOOC生存的基础。Coursera将世界知名高校课程内容带到全球各个国家,并将课程内容语言本土化,同时,他们也将本土国家高校课程内容,通过Coursera全球脉络再散发到世界各地,帮助该国家和学校建立全球品牌影响力。北京大学是Coursera在中国大陆第一个高校合作伙伴。以北京大学《艺术史》课程为例,资料显示,参与这门课的学习者中有19.1%来自亚洲以外地区,其中10.7% 来自美国。目前国内共有7所大学和Coursera建立了合作:清华大学、北京大学、复旦大学、南京大学、上海交大、西安交大和中国科学技术大学。2. 寻找当地合作伙伴 资源互补仍以中国为例,Coursera2013年和网易达成了战略合作关系,开始进军中国。此后陆续和果壳网、新东方、课程格子、沪江网、VIPKID等一批在国内教育企业建立合作。Coursera为相应的中国企业提供全球高校课程内容、品牌背书等,中国本土合作伙伴主要承担了Coursera课程内容语言的翻译、传播、中国用户的获取以及用户体验优化等,双方也曾尝试部分商业模式探索的合作。3. 资本助推全球化布局2015年,Coursera在C轮融资中,引入了一家拥有印度时报等媒体的投资机构Times Internet Limited (TIL),同时还有新加坡经济发展局投资私人有限公司(简称EDBI)。Rick Levin当时称他对印度市场很乐观,相信 TIL 的投资将帮助Coursera从印刷和数字等渠道带来“用户的激增”。确实, 2015年C轮融资时,印度是Coursera在中国之外的第二大海外市场,两年后也就是2017年时,印度成为仅次于美国的Coursera的全球第二大市场。Coursera B轮融资方Learn Capital主要关注教育行业,曾投资VIPKID。在2017年时,Coursera宣布和VIPKID合作,Coursera通过TO B在线培训保证VIPKID的师资质量,同时还为其外教提供TESOL认证。2019年4月,Coursera宣布完成1.03亿美元的E轮融资。该轮融资由SEEK集团牵头,该集团在澳大利亚证券交易所(ASX:SEK)上市。它是一家以投资和扩大在线教育和就业业务而闻名的公司。据了解,本轮融资将用于扩大国际市场,帮助学习者做好准备,迎接“第四次工业革命”的挑战。此次融资,被市场解读为,不仅仅是Cousera在职业教育以及TO B方向的再一步前进,同时也代表了,Coursera或将加大在澳大利亚的布局。结语Coursera的一路发展,证书体系,学位颁发,特别是职业教育以及TO B企业培训,本质上TO
