When Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck back in 2019, they said that the electric pickup truck would make it to market by the end of 2021.</p>\n<p>During the release of its 2Q financial results last month, Tesla kept the same 2021 timeline and only specified that Cybertruck production would start at Gigafactory Texas after Model Y:</p>\n<p>“We are also making progress on the industrialization of Cybertruck, which is currently planned for Austin production subsequent to Model Y.“</p>\n<p>Furthermore, the CEO noted that there’s so much new technology in the electric pickup truck that the production ramp-up is going to be very difficult. He doesn’t expect volume production to be achieved until late 2023.</p>\n<p>Despite the news, Musk still took the opportunity to hype up the upcoming Cybertruck:</p>\n<p>“It will be a special project.
