Still, more than $6 billion flowed into Ark Innovation in 2021, according to FactSet. Wood made a name for herself after Ark Innovation returned nearly 150% in 2020.\n\nWood’s other funds are a mixed bag.Ark Next Generation Internet ETF is up 2% for 2021, and Ark Genomic Revolution ETF is down 10%.Ark Fintech Innovation ETF has gained 6% this year, and Ark Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF has climbed more than 8% in that time period.\nDespite the funds’ relative underperformance to the major U.S. benchmarks, several names in the Ark funds have crushed it this year.\nTake a look at the best-performing stocks in Wood’s Ark funds so far in 2021.\n\nIntellia Therapeutics is the best-performing stock in Wood’s funds after returning more than 185% this year. In late June, the Massachusetts-based company and partner Regeneron announced positive results in a phase one study of a gene-editing treatment for a disease called transthyretin amyloidosis.\nLendingClub,Nvidia,Sea and Bill.com have also seen stellar performance this year.Deere,Intuit and Snap also make the list.\nCNBC Pro’s list did not include companies that went public in 2021; however, Ark owns several newly public companies. Self-driving truck company TuSimple is up roughly 20% since its debut in April, and Roblox shares have climbed since the gaming company’s IPO in March.\nCoinbase, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, went public in April and opened at $381 per share. The stock is currently trading around $250 per share. Its price movements closely follow those of bitcoin.\nIn terms of the worst performers,Seres Therapeutics tops the list after declining nearly 75% in 2021.Berkeley Lights,Materialise,Pluristem Therapeutics and Proto Labs have also dragged down Wood’s funds.\nTake a look at the worst-performing stocks in Wood’s Ark funds so far in 2021.\n\nLooking ahead for Ark Invest\nIt’s important to note that some of the worst performers this year are the stocks that Wall Street expects will mount a comeback in the next 12 months.\nWhile Seres Therapeutics is the biggest laggard among Wood’s holdings, it’s also the top stock that analysts see outperforming in the next year. Nearly 80% of analysts covering the stock have buy ratings on the name, according to FactSet. On average, analysts see an upside of 230%.\nThe biotech company’s lead microbiome therapy is approaching a biologics license application filing in the third quarter of this year.\n“In Phase 3, SER-109 had clean safety data, along with 24-week data showing durable efficacy. Validating high interest in the program, Seres has an agreement with Nestle Health Science to jointly commercialize SER-109 worldwide,” Canaccord Genuity analyst John Newman told clients.\nLooking ahead, CNBC Pro screened for the Ark Invest-owned stocks that analysts think have the best chance of roaring back from their recent weakness.\nThe listed stocks are holdings in one of Ark’s core ETFs. Plus, Wall Street expects these names to rally more than 60% in the next year, based on the stocks’ average 12-month price target from analysts.\nLastly, the listed stocks have more than 50% of analysts assigning them a buy rating, with a minimum of five analysts covering the equity.\nTake a look at CNBC Pro’s list here:\n\nCompugen and Niu Technologies are two Ark Invest-held names that are universally loved on Wall Street. Both stocks have 100% of analysts rating them as a buy. Analysts expect Compugen to rally nearly 220% and Niu Technologies to gain more than 65% in the next 12 months.\nWhile Surface Oncology is down more than 35% this year, the company reported better-than-expected earnings earlier this month. The company is a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company developing next-generation immunotherapies that target the tumor microenvironment and hit a milestone with its small-cell lung cancer treatment.\nAnalysts see Surface Oncology roaring back more than 150% in the next year.\nZillow is expected to gain more than 62% in the next 12 months.
