I believe that it would be easy to trace how data has flow thru. Whether customer data was shared to the US gov or not, very soon it would be figured out. How will Didi deal with this if I’m the data has leaked?

What would be the penalty? According to the Chinese govt, they now have the legislature to shut such company down if found to betrue. But I believe that it would not materialise because it would be quite shameful for a Chinese company to sell off their own country’s data. If it did, then it must have been done thru a rouge employee with access to thedata system. And to do so means that the employee have super administrator rights to do so. And it would also mean that there is a failure for Didi to audit and check.

Eventually Didi will be fined and given a heavy penalty similar to Alibaba but perhaps heavier as it goes beyond being seen as monopolistic.

But this would also close the episode swiftlyand the confidence be restored promptly.

Taking Alibaba as an positive example, the company now is working with the Chinese govt for Ant Financial to safeguard Chinese consumers data.

I believe that the Chinese are still patriotic. And Didi's boss has no reason to do so. For money? No, they have lots of money.
