German stocks - Factors to watch on May 5

BERLIN/FRANKFURT, May 5 (Reuters) - The following are some of the factors that may move German stocks on Wednesday:

CORONAVIRUS

Germany reported 18,034 new infections and 285 more deaths.

ECONOMY

German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz wants to extend economic aid introduced during the coronavirus crisis beyond the pandemic, he told the Handelsblatt business daily.

MERCK

German biotech labs supplier Merck raised its 2021 earnings forecast on strong first-quarter results.

DAIMLER

Nissan sold its 1.5% Daimler stake in an accelerated bookbuild offering at a price of 69.85 euros a share.

DELIVERY HERO

The former owners of Woowa Brothers sold about 4% of shares in Delivery Hero in an accelerated bookbuild offering.

TESLA

German authorities are probing possible violations of labour laws at the construction site of Tesla's future German factory, Business Insider reported on Tuesday.

METRO

The retailer said its fiscal second-quarter loss reached 131 million euros after 116 million in the year-earlier period.
