CFG’s proven expense discipline, faster-growth loan categories (POS finance and education), strong capital position, asset-sensitive balance sheet, and clear path to building out its fee businesses support our Overweight rating on the stock,” the note said.\nThe bank’s management team has also proven that it can execute Citizens’ improvement and cost reduction plans, Morgan Stanley said. Citizens has a series of goals that it refers to as “tapping our potential.”\n“Once TOP 6 is completed, Citizens will have achieved over $1 bil of pretax earnings benefits through its TOP programs. Not only has this resulted in slower expense growth in each of the last six years, it has also led to above-average positive operating leverage, with CFG posting an average of 3.6% operating leverage
