than 6%, Monday, and Jefferies analyst Andrew Uerkiwitz cut his rating on the company's stock.

Uerkwitz took his view of Netflix (NFLX) to hold from buy, saying there is "too much uncertainty in the near term" surrounding the company following its disappointing quarterly report and outlook last week. On Thursday, Netflix (NFLX) said it added 8.28 million new subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2021, which fell short of its earlier forecasts of 8.5 million subscriber additions. Netflix (NFLX) also said it expects to add just 2.5 million subscribers during the first quarter of this year.

Those numbers did Netflix (NFLX) no favors on Wall Street, as investors drove the company's shares down almost 22% on Friday.

On Monday, Uerkwitz joined in what was a mostly negative chorus in response to Netflix's (NFLX) subscriber numbers, saying that after "thinking through potential scenarios for what happens next" for the company, it appears Netflix's (NFLX) spending on new content could be coming to a head.

"Netflix subscribers are going nowhere," Uerkwitz said. But if there's one constant about Wall Street, it's that there are always great deals to be found. The following 10 top stocks, which are a mix of growth, value, and income plays, could all make you a lot richer in 2022

1. NextEra Energy

After watching growth stocks soar for the past 12 years, you're probably just itching to buy an electric utility stock, right? While the idea might sound laughable, don't discount NextEra Energy (NYSE:NEE), which has delivered a positive total return to shareholders in 19 of the past 20 years!

Most electric utilities grow at a low single-digit rate. But NextEra Energy has been consistently averaging high single-digit growth as a result of its aggressive investments in renewable energy. No utility in the country is currently generating more capacity from wind or solar than NextEra is. And this is unlikely to change anytime soon with the company investing an aggregate of $50 billion to $55 billion in new infrastructure projects between 2020 and 2022. It's an especially smart investment with lending rates at historic lows.

Meanwhile, the company also benefits from the cash flow transparency of its traditional utility operations (i.e., those not powered by renewable energy). Since this traditional segment is regulated by state utility commissions, it means no exposure to potentially volatile wholesale electricity pricing.

2. Novavax

For investors seeking growth, biotech stock Novavax (NASDAQ:NVAX) can be their ticket to riches in 2022.

Novavax is one of more than a dozen drugmakers working to create treatments for COVID-19. The company's vaccine, NVX-CoV2373, was stellar in two late-stage trials in 2021. The U.K. and the U.S./Mexico trials produced vaccine efficacy rates of 89.7% and 90.4%, respectively. As one of only three prominent vaccines to reach efficacy of 90%, there looks to be a clear path to Novavax becoming a major global player in the fight against COVID.

Furthermore, investors are able to buy into Novavax relatively cheaply after the company ran into a number of operational snags last year, which are now in the rearview mirror. With Novavax beginning to receive Emergency Use Authorizations around the world, and the company expected to launch NVX-Cov2373 in numerous key markets this year, it's a good bet to make investors richer.

3. Walgreens Boots Alliance

If you're an investor who appreciates value stocks, pharmacy chain Walgreens Boots Alliance (NASDAQ:WBA), with its forward-year price-to-earnings ratio of 10, is a company with all the tools needed to make you richer in 2022.

Although Walgreens was hurt by reduced foot traffic during the initial stage of the pandemic, the company's multipoint turnaround plan is already well underway and set to pay big dividends in the new year.

For example, the company was able to achieve over $2 billion in annual operating-expense reductions a year ahead of schedule. All the while, it's been aggressively spending on digitization initiatives designed to encourage consumers to purchase products online for delivery, or for pickup via drive-thru. Even though online sales represent a small sliver of total revenue, it's a segment with sustainable double-digit growth potential.

Arguably more exciting is that Walgreens has partnered with VillageMD to open roughly 600 full-service health clinics located in its stores in more than 30 U.S. markets. These clinics can funnel local residents right to Walgreens' high-margin pharmacy.

4. Amazon

Best-of-breed stocks are a good bet to make investors richer in 2022. That's why Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), a leader in not just one category, but two, is a no-brainer buy.

Most people are familiar with Amazon because of its dominance in e-commerce. According to eMarketer, it accounted for an estimated 41.4% of all online sales in the U.S. in 2021. But it's the company's 200 million global Prime members who are really fueling the fire for this segment. The annual fees Amazon collects from its Prime users help to buoy razor-thin margins, and are what allow it to undercut brick-and-mortar retailers on price.

What folks might not realize is that Amazon is also the leader in cloud infrastructure services. Amazon Web Services accounts for close to a third of all global cloud infrastructure spending. The important thing to recognize here is that cloud services, along with advertising and subscriptions, are Amazon's fastest-growing and highest-margin segments. As long as these segments continue to grow rapidly, Amazon's share price and operating cash flow can head significantly higher, even if growth in e-commerce revenue slows dramatically.

5. PubMatic

For small-cap stock investors who want a top stock with a higher risk/reward profile, let me introduce you to PubMatic (NASDAQ:PUBM).

PubMatic operates a cloud-based programmatic ad platform and is a sell-side provider. In English, this means its software handles the optimization of digital ad placement, with the company selling display space for publishers (its clients). Though publishers do offer input, such as the minimum price they'd be willing to accept to sell display space, PubMatic handles everything else. The platform's machine-learning algorithms are designed to put relevant ads in front of users, while also maximizing what publishers net from advertisers.

The beauty of the PubMatic operating model is that advertising dollars are shifting more and more to digital platforms. Whereas global digital ad spend is expected to increase by an average of 10% annually through mid-decade, PubMatic's sales growth has consistently doubled up this forecast. And it's averaged an organic growth rate of at least 50% in four straight quarters. If that's not a ringing endorsement of its sell-side platform by publishers, I'm not sure what is.

6. Annaly Capital Management

Income investors can make bank with top stocks in 2022 as well. Mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) Annaly Capital Management (NYSE:NLY) offers an inflation-crushing, yet sustainable, 10.9% dividend yield, and has averaged a yield of roughly 10% over the past two decades.

Put simply, mortgage REITs like Annaly aim to borrow money at lower short-term rates, which can then be used to purchase higher-yielding long-term assets, such as mortgage-backed securities. Subtracting the average borrowing rate from this long-term average yield produces what's known as net interest margin.

During the early stages of an economic recovery, it's very common for the interest rate yield curve to steepen (i.e., the gap between long-term and short-term Treasury bond yields widens). When this happens, Annaly usually sees its net interest margin rise.

What's more, Annaly almost exclusively buys agency assets that are backed by the federal government. This allows the company to prudently use leverage to its advantage.

7. UnitedHealth Group

Another top stock with a long history of making its shareholders money is UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH). It's provided a positive total return for shareholders in 18 of the past 20 years.

UnitedHealth Group is probably best known for providing health insurance. While insurance isn't a fast-growing market, it does provide the company with transparent and predictable cash flow. It also doesn't hurt that insurance companies usually have strong pricing power when it comes to increasing premiums to cover their expenses. However, UnitedHealth's key operating segment isn't insurance -- it's Optum.

Optum handles pharmacy-care services, provides healthcare software, and offers other high-margin health management services for hospitals and clinics. Optum is growing much faster than the insurance segment, and is capable of much higher margins as well.

8. Ping Identity Holding

Among double-digit growth trends, none looks safer than cybersecurity in 2022. That's why Ping Identity Holding (NYSE:PING) can make investors richer this year.

As its name rightly suggests, Ping's cloud-based platform focuses on identity verification for its clients. It also leans on artificial intelligence to grow smarter at recognizing and responding to potential threats over time. Ping's platform is especially useful when layered atop on-premises solutions, where it helps by continuously monitoring and approving user activity.

The great thing about cybersecurity solutions is that they offer exceptionally high margins. In Ping Identity's case, the company is shifting its client base away from term-based licenses to software-as-a-service subscriptions. This should ultimately improve customer retention rates, lift margins, and sustain the company's double-digit annual growth in recurring revenue.

At an estimated 6 times 2022 sales, Ping is one of the best values in the cybersecurity space.

9. Trulieve Cannabis

Following a buzzkill of a year, U.S. marijuana stocks look poised to bounce back in 2022. U.S. multi-state operator (MSO) Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF) is one such company that can lead the charge.

Unlike most MSOs, Trulieve has approached its expansion in a unique way: by primarily focusing on a single market. As of last week, the company had 160 operating dispensaries nationwide, with 112 stores in medical-marijuana-legal Florida. Saturating the Sunshine State has helped Trulieve gobble up approximately half of Florida's dried flower and oils market share. More importantly, it's kept marketing costs down, which has allowed the company to report three consecutive profitable years.

Trulieve's next chapter was written when it closed its acquisition of Harvest Health & Recreation in the fourth quarter. MSO Harvest Health had a leading presence in Arizona prior to its acquisition, which clears the way for Trulieve to become the dominant player in yet another billion-dollar cannabis market.

10. Meta Platforms

The 10th and final top stock that should make investors richer in 2022 is Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:FB), the parent company of social media platform Facebook.

If you want to see dominance, just pull up Meta's monthly active user (MAU) count across all of its platforms. In the third quarter, 2.91 billion people visited Facebook each month, with another 670 million unique users visiting Instagram and/or WhatsApp, which Meta owns as well. These 3.58 billion MAUs represent more than half of the global adult population, and are the precise reason advertisers will pay through the nose to get their message in front of this vast array of viewers.

Beyond advertising, Meta is also a play on the metaverse, the next iteration of the internet that allows users to interact in 3D environments. The company owns the popular Oculus virtual reality devices, and invested $10 billion in metaverse-related projects last year alone.

A forward-year price-to-earnings multiple of 23 is too inexpensive for a company with a growth rate exceeding 20% and this many competitive advantages.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The annual fees Amazon collects from its Prime users help to buoy razor-thin margins, and are what allow it to undercut brick-and-mortar retailers on price. As long as these segments continue to grow rapidly, Amazon's share price and operating cash flow can head significantly higher, even if growth in e-commerce revenue slows dramatically.5. PubMaticFor small-cap stock investors who want a top stock with a higher risk/reward profile, let me introduce you to PubMatic (NASDAQ:PUBM).PubMatic operates a cloud-based programmatic ad platform and is a sell-side provider. If that's not a ringing endorsement of its sell-side platform by publishers, I'm not sure what is.6. Annaly Capital ManagementIncome investors can make bank with top stocks in 2022 as well. Mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) Annaly Capital Management (NYSE:NLY) offers an inflation-crushing, yet sustainable, 10.9% dividend yield, and has averaged a yield of roughly 10% over the past two decades.Put simply, mortgage REITs like Annaly aim to borrow money at lower short-term rates, which can then be used to purchase higher-yielding long-term assets, such as mortgage-backed securities. Subtracting the average borrowing rate from this long-term average yield produces what's known as net interest margin.During the early stages of an economic recovery, it's very common for the interest rate yield curve to steepen (i.e., the gap between long-term and short-term Treasury bond yields widens). When this happens, Annaly usually sees its net interest margin rise. What's more, Annaly almost exclusively buys agency assets that are backed by the federal government. This allows the company to prudently use leverage to its advantage.7. UnitedHealth GroupAnother top stock with a long history of making its shareholders money is UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH). It's provided a positive total return for shareholders in 18 of the past 20 years.UnitedHealth Group is probably best known for providing health insurance. While insurance isn't a fast-growing market, it does provide the company with transparent and predictable cash flow. It also doesn't hurt that insurance companies usually have strong pricing power when it comes to increasing premiums to cover their expenses. However, UnitedHealth's key operating segment isn't insurance -- it's Optum.Optum handles pharmacy-care services, provides healthcare software, and offers other high-margin health management services for hospitals and clinics. Optum is growing much faster than the insurance segment, and is capable of much higher margins as well.8. Ping Identity HoldingAmong double-digit growth trends, none looks safer than cybersecurity in 2022. That's why Ping Identity Holding (NYSE:PING) can make investors richer this year.As its name rightly suggests, Ping's cloud-based platform focuses on identity verification for its clients. At an estimated 6 times 2022 sales, Ping is one of the best values in the cybersecurity space.9. Trulieve CannabisFollowing a buzzkill of a year, U.S. marijuana stocks look poised to bounce back in 2022. U.S. multi-state operator (MSO) Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF) is one such company that can lead the charge.Unlike most MSOs, Trulieve has approached its expansion in a unique way: by primarily focusing on a single market. As of last week, the company had 160 operating dispensaries nationwide, with 112 stores in medical-marijuana-legal Florida. Saturating the Sunshine State has helped Trulieve gobble up approximately half of Florida's dried flower and oils market share. More importantly, it's kept marketing costs down, which has allowed the company to report three consecutive profitable years.Trulieve's next chapter was written when it closed its acquisition of Harvest Health & Recreation in the fourth quarter. MSO Harvest Health had a leading presence in Arizona prior to its acquisition, which clears the way for Trulieve to become the dominant player in yet another billion-dollar cannabis market.10. Meta PlatformsThe 10th and final top stock that should make investors richer in 2022 is Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:FB), the parent company of social media platform Facebook. If you want to see dominance, just pull up Meta's monthly active user (MAU) count across all of its platforms. In the third quarter, 2.91 billion people visited Facebook each month, with another 670 million unique users visiting Instagram and/or WhatsApp, which Meta owns as well. These 3.58 billion MAUs represent more than half of the global adult population, and are the precise reason advertisers will pay through the nose to get their message in front of this vast array of viewers.Beyond advertising, Meta is also a play on the metaverse, the next iteration of the internet that allows users to interact in 3D environments. The company owns the popular Oculus virtual reality devices, and invested $10 billion in metaverse-related projects last year alone.A forward-year price-to-earnings multiple of 23 is too inexpensive for a company with a growth rate exceeding 20% and this many competitive advantages.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1511,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":697136723,"gmtCreate":1642346510380,"gmtModify":1642346522635,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"All the wayy","listText":"All the wayy","text":"All the wayy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/697136723","repostId":"2203742646","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1629,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":697136423,"gmtCreate":1642346503641,"gmtModify":1642383337979,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gope","listText":"Gope","text":"Gope","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/697136423","repostId":"2203742646","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1514,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":697136527,"gmtCreate":1642346494786,"gmtModify":1642383350425,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"基督教大家","listText":"基督教大家","text":"基督教大家","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/697136527","repostId":"2203742646","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2203742646","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1642297021,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2203742646?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-01-16 09:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"2 Top Tech Stocks to Buy for the Long Haul","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2203742646","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"These companies operate in growing industries and trade at reasonable valuations.","content":"

Technological innovation continues to influence how we live, from how we watch television to remote work. Last year we saw Emergency Use Authorizations for multiple COVID vaccines and treatments across the healthcare space. Pharmaceutical companies are set to make billions of dollars in 2022. Here are three stocks that should thrive.

Pfizer(NYSE:PFE), the $310 billion mega cap, is expected to bring in not $1 billion or $10 billion but over $50 billion in sales for its COVID vaccine and antiviral pill. Scrappy Novavax(NASDAQ:NVAX)is finally introducing its COVID vaccine around the world. How many billions will it receive? And we have a dark horse candidate in Vir Biotechnology(NASDAQ:VIR). It has a drug that could easily be a $1 billion blockbuster for the tiny biotech.

A safe harbor in stormy weather

George Budwell(Pfizer):Pfizer is the undisputed champion of COVID-19 pharmaceutical products. In 2022 alone, Wall Street expects the pharma giant to rake in $55 billion in sales between its novel coronavirus vaccine, Comirnaty, and its oral antiviral pill, Paxlovid.

What's more, analysts are starting to warm up to the idea that Paxlovid might be a sustainable revenue generator for the company over the course of the current decade. When the drug was first allowed on the market by the Food and Drug Administration under the Emergency Use Authorization pathway last month, Wall Street thought Paxlovid would likely peak from a commercial standpoint within a year or so, and then experience a dramatic drop in sales as the pandemic faded from view.

But less than three weeks out from the drug's initial approval, it is becoming painfully obvious that Paxlovid will probably be required as a fail-safe against the worst outcomes from COVID-19 for several more years. The highly infectious omicron variant, after all, will certainly not be the last major iteration of the virus.

What this all means is that Pfizer ought to be one of the few large-cap drugmakers with a sizable, long-term COVID-19 revenue source. Pfizer, in turn, should have ample free cash flows to feed its generous shareholder reward program, as well as its ambitious business development plans, for the foreseeable future.

So, if you're looking for a stock that can weather the dual headwinds of sky-high inflation and rising interest rates, Pfizer might be worth checking out.

Revenue forecasts for Novavax: $2 billion to $8 billion

Taylor Carmichael(Novavax):Novavax is on the verge of greatness this year. The company's stock price is down to $125 a share. That's where it started in 2021, so last year was pretty much a washout for the stock.

Back in February the share price zoomed over $300 when Novavax reported positive phase 3 data for its COVID vaccine. But then the small biotech ran into manufacturing issues. While its vaccine is said by many to be the best in class, scaling up the contract manufacturing for an estimated 2 billion doses of vaccine is easier said than done. And those realities have caused the stock to drop about 60% off its highs.

Nonetheless, Novavax has already hit the $1 billion revenue mark, so its vaccine was a blockbuster even before it was approved, because of all the preorders. Now that authorizations are pouring in from around the globe, it's highly likely that Novavax will ship a massive number of vaccine doses in 2022. The company's already achieved a manufacturing capacity of 100 million doses a month, or 1.2 billion doses in a year. On the third-quarter earnings call, management predicted it would reach a manufacturing capacity of 150 million doses every month (or 1.8 billion doses a year) by the end of the fourth quarter. And the company expects to continue to scale and forecasts that it will distribute 2 billion doses in 2022.

Two billion doses of vaccine, at a price point of $16 (Operation Warp Speed paid $1.6 billion to pre-order 100 million doses) gives us a back-of-the-envelope calculation of $32 billion in revenue. Of course, Novavax will be distributing a lot of vaccines to the developing world at a reduced rate. While the company has been quiet about its prices, Denmark said back in August that it paid almost $21 a dose under the European Union (EU) agreement. The EU has ordered 200 million doses, so that's over $4 billion in sales, just in Europe.

Analysts are being extremely conservative, with a forecast ranging from $2 billion to $8 billion for Novavax in 2022. (The company's market cap sits at $9 billion.) While there may be hiccups along the way, Novavax is sure to make billions of dollars off its COVID-19 vaccine in 2022. And there could be significant upside to the stock if the company does indeed deliver 2 billion doses as it says it will.

The antibody market all to itself

Patrick Bafuma(Vir Biotechnology):The omicron variant is currently running rampant, and this time, we are short a few treatments. Previously favored monoclonal antibody treatments from Eli Lilly (bamlanivimab plus etesevimab) as well as the REGEN-COV cocktail from RocheandRegeneron are believed to have marked diminished activity against the current variant. This leaves a single infusiont hought to be active against omicron--GlaxoSmithKline and Vir Biotechnology's sotrovimab. This monoclonal antibody previously demonstrated a reduced risk of hospitalization and death by 79% in adults with mild to moderate COVID-19 and at high risk of progression to severe disease. And it's the only one left right now to fight the omicron variant.

Being the sole monoclonal antibody on the block will have its privileges. Through the first nine months of 2021, REGEN-COV brought in $3.5 billion in net product sales, while Eli Lilly's antibody combination brought in $1.17 billion. The U.S. government has already contracted for approximately $1 billion worth of sotrovimab. With hospitals overflowing with patients, anything that can help alleviate some of the stress on the system is likely going to be highly sought after.

And while Pfizer's Paxlovid will be hugely beneficial to ease the COVID-19 burden on the healthcare system, the oral medication has significant and complex drug-drug interaction potential. In fact, its interaction list reads like a who's who of commonly prescribed medications. This includes popular blood thinning agents such as Plavix and Xarelto, common analgesics like Tramadol and oxycodone, anxiolytics like Klonopin and Xanax, as well as cholesterol-fighting statins. With the National Institutes of Health issuing a statement voicing its concern over Paxlovid's possible drug interactions, this leaves plenty of room for sotrovimab to continue to be widely prescribed. With Vir getting 72.5% of sotrovimab sales per its agreement with GSK, the $4.4 billion biotech looks like a bargain right now.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 COVID Stocks That Will Make Billions in 2022
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 COVID Stocks That Will Make Billions in 2022\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-08 11:29 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
It's a new year and COVID-19 is still with us. The EU has ordered 200 million doses, so that's over $4 billion in sales, just in Europe.Analysts are being extremely conservative, with a forecast ranging from $2 billion to $8 billion for Novavax in 2022. (The company's market cap sits at $9 billion.) While there may be hiccups along the way, Novavax is sure to make billions of dollars off its COVID-19 vaccine in 2022. And there could be significant upside to the stock if the company does indeed deliver 2 billion doses as it says it will. The antibody market all to itselfPatrick Bafuma(Vir Biotechnology):The omicron variant is currently running rampant, and this time, we are short a few treatments. And it's the only one left right now to fight the omicron variant.Being the sole monoclonal antibody on the block will have its privileges. With Vir getting 72.5% of sotrovimab sales per its agreement with GSK, the $4.4 billion biotech looks like a bargain right now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":571,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":695710139,"gmtCreate":1641576632043,"gmtModify":1641674560869,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Xjdjd","listText":"Xjdjd","text":"Xjdjd","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":2,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":14,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/695710139","repostId":"2201216295","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2201216295","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1641569178,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2201216295?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-01-07 23:26","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Stocks that Can Turn $100,000 into $1 Million by 2030","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2201216295","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"There's a clear path for these stocks to deliver 10x gains by the end of the decade.","content":"

There's something especially alluring about the potential to achieve a 10x return. Can investors who aren't legends buy potential 10-baggers now?

I think so. And it doesn't have to take decades to generate 10x returns. Here are three stocks that may be able to turn $100,000 into $1 million by 2030.

1. MercadoLibre

What do you get when you cross three huge opportunities with a fast-growing and underserved region? MercadoLibre (NASDAQ:MELI). The company stands as the leader in Latin American e-commerce, digital payments, and logistics with a market cap below $60 billion.

I view MercadoLibre as one of the top growth stocks to buy for 2022. The stock is down more than 40% from its 52-week high, despite its business continuing to fire on all cylinders. My prediction is that it will rebound strongly this year.

However, I'm even more excited about MercadoLibre's prospects throughout the rest of this decade. Investment-firm Morgan Stanley expects the e-commerce market-penetration rate in Latin America will double by 2025 and continue growing rapidly afterward. MercadoLibre will be the obvious winner if this projection is right -- both with its e-commerce and logistics services.

There are also millions of people in Latin America who don't use banking services or have only limited banking services. MercadoLibre's MercadoPago payment platform provides a great solution for these individuals. I think that digital payments will become a much bigger business for the company and help it potentially deliver a 10x return by 2030.

2. Unity Software

ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood believes that the metaverse could be worth trillions of dollars. Matthew Ball, CEO of venture-capital firm Epyllion, projects that the metaverse opportunity could reach $30 trillion over the next 15 years. If they're anywhere close to being right, Unity Software (NYSE:U) could easily turn an initial investment of $100,000 into $1 million by the end of this decade.

Unity isn't a company that's in the limelight all that much. However, its software was used to develop more than 700 of the top 1,000 mobile games. Unity's platform is No. 1, by far, in creating interactive, real-time 3D content.

The rise of the metaverse should lead to a lot more of this content. That presents a massive opportunity for Unity -- one that the company fully intends to seize. CEO John Riccitiello said in Unity's third-quarter conference call that the company's goal is for between 60% and 80% of metaverse content to be built with its software.

Riccitiello's range seems attainable based on Unity's past track record. If the metaverse delivers on its potential, it's not hard to envision Unity's market cap increasing from the current $37 billion to at least $370 billion by 2030.

3. Twist Bioscience

Twist Bioscience (NASDAQ:TWST) ranks as one of the most intriguing biotech stocks on the market. The company specializes in making synthetic DNA. This DNA is used in a variety of ways, including drug development and research.

Twist estimates that the addressable market for its synthetic DNA is around $1.8 billion annually. It believes there's at least another $1 billion per-year opportunity in tools for next-generation sequencing (NGS) sample preparation.

I don't think those markets are enough to make Twist a 10-bagger by 2030. However, the company is focusing on another area that could enable its stock to deliver a 10x or greater return over the next few years: DNA data storage, which presents a $35 billion opportunity. And DNA holds the potential to store data more cost-effectively for longer periods of time than other alternatives.

Twist has a long way to go on this front. But the company is making progress, including confirming that it can synthesize DNA on a 1-micron chip.

I think that Twist can get the costs of DNA data storage near $100 per terabyte. Retail investors have been playing a much larger role than ever before and have helped such meme stocks as AMC Entertainment and GameStop rally hundreds of percentage points at various times this year while the S&P 500 has enjoyed a strong but much more modest gain of 28%.

Yet not everyone has become rich from investing in these risky stocks and trends. Many investors have lost big money betting on stocks. If you're a novice investor who has recently begun trading or are looking to get started investing in stocks next year, there are a few mistakes you'll want to avoid making. Here are three of the biggest ones that rookie investors make.

1. Focusing too much on stock price

Oftentimes when I talk to relatively new investors, one of the things that comes up is a stock's price. But whether a stock is trading at $20, $200, or $2,000 is completely irrelevant. The more important question is the stock price in relation to the company's earnings -- known as its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio. Investors might also look at the stock price in relation to the company's sales -- known as its price-to-sales multiple.

Consider tech giant Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), which trades at more than $3,400. That's a big number, but that alone doesn't mean it's an expensive stock. Amazon reported diluted earnings per share of about $51 over the trailing 12 months, so the stock is trading at around 67 times those earnings (and less than four times its revenue). That isn't cheap since the average stock in the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund trades at only 34 times its profit. If Amazon's stock were to fall to a P/E of 34, its shares would still be worth more than $1,700 -- which again may look expensive -- but its valuation would now be in line with a typical tech stock.

Thus, looking solely at a stock's price without taking into context the company's underlying earnings or revenue should not be used to evaluate whether its shares are expensive.

2. Focusing on the number of shares

One thing a stock price can impact is how many shares you may end up owning. If you've got $10,000, you'll be able to buy roughly three shares of Amazon. But if you invested the same amount in tiny veterinarian health company Zomedica (NYSEMKT:ZOM), which trades at around $0.35, you could own more than 28,570 shares of the company.

In the end, it doesn't matter how many shares you own. It's the overall value of your investment that counts. A 10% increase in a $10,000 investment still represents a $1,000 profit, regardless of how many shares you own. So you want to be sure to own enough shares to meet your investment goal.

With Zomedica, you might be tempted to think that investing $100 in the stock is fine since you'll own about 285 shares of the company. But a $100 investment is still a $100 investment, regardless of your stock count. If you're spending the time to research stocks and find a good investment, make sure the investment is appropriately sized.

Of course, it's also important to consider the size of any individual investment in relation to your overall stock portfolio, making sure not to be overly concentrated in any one stock.

3. Ignoring fundamentals

If you don't spend much time researching and just feel as though you can risk taking a bet on the latest meme stock, that would be a big mistake as you could lose all your money. The fundamentals count.

Again, let's look at Zomedica, for example. This stock was popular with retail investors in the early part of the year, hitting a peak of $2.91 on Feb. 8. It has since fallen a mammoth 88%. Even if you bought it at just $1.00 a few months later, it would still be down more than 60% today -- a huge loss.

However, had you looked at the company's fundamentals before investing in its shares, you would have been aware of some significant risks. It was only in March that the company announced the first commercial sale of Truforma, its flagship product that helps veterinarians run diagnostics on animals. Retail investors have been playing a much larger role than ever before and have helped such meme stocks as AMC Entertainment and GameStop rally hundreds of percentage points at various times this year while the S&P 500 has enjoyed a strong but much more modest gain of 28%.Yet not everyone has become rich from investing in these risky stocks and trends. Many investors have lost big money betting on stocks. If you're a novice investor who has recently begun trading or are looking to get started investing in stocks next year, there are a few mistakes you'll want to avoid making. Here are three of the biggest ones that rookie investors make.Image source: Getty Images.1. Focusing too much on stock priceOftentimes when I talk to relatively new investors, one of the things that comes up is a stock's price. But whether a stock is trading at $20, $200, or $2,000 is completely irrelevant. The more important question is the stock price in relation to the company's earnings -- known as its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio. Investors might also look at the stock price in relation to the company's sales -- known as its price-to-sales multiple.Consider tech giant Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), which trades at more than $3,400. Thus, looking solely at a stock's price without taking into context the company's underlying earnings or revenue should not be used to evaluate whether its shares are expensive.2. Focusing on the number of sharesOne thing a stock price can impact is how many shares you may end up owning. If you're spending the time to research stocks and find a good investment, make sure the investment is appropriately sized.Of course, it's also important to consider the size of any individual investment in relation to your overall stock portfolio, making sure not to be overly concentrated in any one stock.3. Ignoring fundamentalsIf you don't spend much time researching and just feel as though you can risk taking a bet on the latest meme stock, that would be a big mistake as you could lose all your money. The fundamentals count.Again, let's look at Zomedica, for example. Through the first nine months of this year, the company has generated just $52,000 in revenue while incurring losses of more than $15 million. So with an unproven product and a stock that is soaring for no clear reason, the writing was on the wall that this was an extremely risky investment. Lesson: Do your homework before you invest.Investors need to be more careful heading into 2022Although the S&P 500 has been having another strong year in 2021, with a new COVID-19 variant out there and interest rate increases on the horizon, next year could be a perilous one for the economy and stock market. So it's paramount that investors avoid big mistakes and make the best decisions they can with their money as 2022 approaches.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":293,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":698794374,"gmtCreate":1640529578623,"gmtModify":1640547511148,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a As of Sunday, 49% of Americans have received at least one vaccine dose, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.\nFor Uber and Lyft, the vaccine efforts also come as the companies seek to have drivers and riders return to the road and recover revenue lost during the pandemic.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":519,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":846963846,"gmtCreate":1636040003152,"gmtModify":1636040404124,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Blue Sphere Corp.(BLSP)$Game over","listText":"$Blue Sphere Corp.(BLSP)$Game over","text":"$Blue Sphere Corp.(BLSP)$Game over","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7c306791ee819c6714b88d16ce0d7cd3","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":2,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":21,"commentSize":17,"repostSize":1,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/846963846","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1150,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":873707699,"gmtCreate":1636984362449,"gmtModify":1637076725741,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Castor Maritime, Inc.(CTRM)$haizz","listText":"$Castor Maritime, Inc.(CTRM)$haizz","text":"$Castor Maritime, Inc.(CTRM)$haizz","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b8986ce7fc28b2226db12822f70b0d99","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":2,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":23,"commentSize":17,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/873707699","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1583,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":115196846,"gmtCreate":1622956373485,"gmtModify":1634096586320,"author":{"id":"3573162818118967","authorId":"3573162818118967","name":"Pepeflabs","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/bb2ce4a85b6af8ab6f45834a991797c6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573162818118967","authorIdStr":"3573162818118967"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$Thankss hedgies!!
